Thanks EDK,

Split update

36.227
23.839

Annoying me how I am running slower T1 and T2 times but beating my time at the line. At least it shows there is plenty more time in this for me I suppose :sly:

New splits for me. Minor improvements in T1 and T2, but a big gain in T3 for significant overall lap time gain...

36.518
23.996

Still errors being made in T2 and I need to keep off the curbs in T1. Back to the wheel...

First try at this, very fun track and car combo!

T1: 36.536
T2: 23.890

Anyone have any tips for improving times? I think most of my time will be made up with a better brake balance, running F: 3 R: 7

How do you change brake balance on the car? I don't see any options for any kind of tuning with the execption of the driving options.

Ok starting to get it together. :)

36.086
23.773

I can see plenty more time in both these sectors, but struggling to put it together. I have run under 36s in T1 and had a 23.5 in T2, just need to put it together and you might see a very happy bunny :sly:

Thanks EDK,

It's amazing how much speed you can carry through the chicane, I've looked some of my better T3s and am watching the speedo with much bemusement. I had one of those sessions earlier where it just wasn't clicking in the first sector. Still great fun though.

I am lovin this combo!!!

T1: 36.951
T2: 24.378

If i can piece a clean run together, i think there might be 0.5 in there somewhere.
Cheers All !!!

What gear are you using for the chicane and whats your exit speed?

I'm not sure if I am doing it right as it doesn't feel that great going through there

3rd and about 60 (can give a more precise figure when I next log in). You can really attack it in this car, but if you drop to 2nd, it's just too unstable, keep off the curbs on exit. Sacrifice a bit of speed on the left part of the chicane so you can line yourself up for the run down to the final corner. Use as much of the curb, which is basically all the way up to the massive blocks on the inside, if you hit them, you've not got 2 wheels on the rumble. That's my reference point.

Thanks for the tip 👍

Be sure to give that a go when I get back on later

Decided to race online instead last night and got volleyball tonight, so Thursday I'll try again 👍

Has anyone noticed any inconsistencies with FFB from one day/session to the next? I swear it feels different to me every time I load the game up... or is this just part of my wheel's ailment..? Or my own inconsistency perhaps. I had great fun for my first 30 minutes the other night but just had another 30 mins now and it feels awful... I'm struggling with the balance quite badly. Still, managed a very marginal improvement:

T1: 35.950
T2: 23.819

Anything under 36 is a very quick T1, so don't be too disheartened!

Haha, I'm not disheartened at all, Nigel :) I'm well pleased with my times so far... just pondering as to why it feels so different each time... Today was like driving a different car - different handling characteristics forcing me to adopt a different style and use a different line through T1.

You lot who are sub 36 seconds for T1 - do you go hell for leather and scream round every turn with tyres squealing and smoke billowing - or - are you smooth and precise, taking the shorter lines and hitting the apexes nicely?

I've not got anywhere near 36 flat yet, feel like a drunkard stumbling round, then I get to the other half of the lap and everything is fine. :S

smooth and precise

👍 I'm taking a wide entry into turns 2 and 4 so I can straighten up and get on full power quicker. Turn 4 has the biggest gains in T1 if you get it right.

thank you sir, i need to concentrate on this i think.

Not great quality (done in a rush) but here's my turns 1-4:

There are no rules against me posting this I hope, since it gives nothing away about the rest of the lap.

It would help a lot more if you would use the chase cam for the replay....just a thought.

Anyone planning to look at real race footage of the track to see how the big boys do it? 💡
Just thinking out loud, as that's all I've had time for, for this week's awesome-looking combo!
Only tried 10 laps so far, with DS3. Hope to finally get some wheel-time tonight!

Nice lines, in my view, Vagabond!

T1: 37.180
T2: 23.944

Great line control Vagabond, I just started using that little bit extra on the left before the 180 after hamer head and then I saw your vid., I'm happier w/ my line choices now that yours is a verification of it... Thankzzz

T1: 36.914
T2: 24.081

Thanks to everyone for the tips! 👍

And Chris for that brilliant vid! Thanks bud! 👍 what settings are using? It's extremely smooth!

Anyways....

NEW SPLITS!!!! 👍

T1: 36.734
T2: 24.063

Have seen faster in both, so hope to go a lot quicker before tonight is out! 👍

Thanks for this insight. I've come to realize I'm over-cooking most of these corners and missing all those apexes is really hurting my sector time.

One quick question: are you shifting into 3rd before that last corner - I think so but just wanted to know for sure?

Cheers!
