One quick question: are you shifting into 3rd before that last corner - I think so but just wanted to know for sure?

Turn 4? Yes I'm taking that in 3rd 👍

Found a balance again :P Much better T2, well pleased with that. :)

T1: 35.928
T2: 23.663

Chicane is still a bit hectic...

35.988
23.623

But really no idea how to do it much faster.

T1: 37.024
T2: 24.428

36's, where are you?

I'm losing it here :dopey:

👍 I'm taking a wide entry into turns 2 and 4 so I can straighten up and get on full power quicker. Turn 4 has the biggest gains in T1 if you get it right.

Thanks for the tips...I need patience to stay on 3rd gear for turn 1.
Looks like you assured a position on the podium for yourself this week Chris, well done!

Got back from work a bit earlier than normal so thought I'd run a WRS for a change...

T1: 36.039
T2: 23.608

I had another go earlier and I still like this combo too, I wonder if I will by the end of the Week.:)

36.407
23.727

I have been upto 3 tenths quicker in T1 so I know I can do better still, there is probably a bit of time still available in T3 also, I might have another go tomorrow.:sly:

Whats up Stotty,

How nice of you to join us :sly: Nice splits to start you off there, will have to catch up with you in a race lobby again one day.

Good luck this week 👍

Very nice combo. When first GT5 came out i really hated this kind of cars. Had a really hard time handeling this kind of cars and the nurburgring was abit of stuggle aswell. Dicided to gave it a try and really liked it and feels much better than a couple of mounths ago. Hope i find enough time this week to come up with a decent lap. So hopefully, i'll be back :)

Really considering throwing in the towel, been saying all week how much I hate this track and nothing has changed. I have been running it a few days now and still no closer to understanding the track, really annoying me because I know I am a lot faster than the leaderboard suggests. How can one track make me look so rubbish, I don't understand it :grumpy:

I know what you mean, but keep at it. It's the only way to get better. I like this track but after one 1 hour session I am really slow and have no clue where to improve. I thought about not submitting but I'm just going to keep at it and see if I can improve. And it's okay if I finish down the leader board, there is always next week.👍

38.214
24.510

Worse in T1, better in T2. At least it's enough to move me up a spot on leaderboard.

Finally nailed T2 and also got a small improvement in T1. Then I started looking at the time :scared: and was a bit cautious into the final chicane, but a good improvement still overall.

36.470
23.697

Happy for now!

Thats a good attitude to have, for me though I have struggled on this track since Forza 3. I have given it a shot on here thinking with the change in physics it might work for me, how wrong I was. Just don't understand how I can be so bad at this but compete with people on all the other tracks I have ran in the WRS.

Amazing how I picked a bad time for me to join the WRS, I have already had to do the two worse combos possible for me. (eiger and this) The car is great, all I was used to driving when I started playing this game in lobbies with Maz, Stotty, Sigma and other fast GTP members.

Good luck this week 👍

Has anyone noticed any inconsistencies with FFB from one day/session to the next? I swear it feels different to me every time I load the game up... or is this just part of my wheel's ailment..? Or my own inconsistency perhaps. I had great fun for my first 30 minutes the other night but just had another 30 mins now and it feels awful... I'm struggling with the balance quite badly. Still, managed a very marginal improvement:

T1: 35.950
T2: 23.819

Didn't your wheel pack it in a few weeks ago? Perhaps that is what it is. Another thing I noticed is in the rally events that after an hour of playing the plastic casing is VERY warm, and sometimes a slight burning plastic smell. Once I smell that I turn it off for half an hour. I guess that's just the motor working too hard for it's specs. Maybe the dreaded cone is stuck under your car and affecting the steering :)

Awesome splits this week, maybe you're just going through the motions (pun from what you mentioned last week)

Come on man, you are being so melodramatic: you are 9th overall and 3rd on the Div 2 rank. There will always be tracks where you suck bigtime (I do @ Eiger and Monaco), but still, found it interesting to learn and practice so way that each time I am more competitive, and still sent my times knowing that I was way out of the Divisio's pace.
Keep in mind that you "should" have fun.

Keep that moral high, your splits now and before can tell that you are a very good and competitive driver...I think you can be promoted soon.

@ Mcfizzle

Decided to take your advice and not spit the dummy :sly:

Had these splits

35.945
23.789

Just don't get it, slower across the line then a previous lap :grumpy:

@ Lyvan

I realized I had a bad attitude towards this time trial and may have offended others like yourself because my splits are not that bad. Thats why I have decided to stick at it thanks to Mcfizzles support. My splits may look good to you on the leaderboard but my time at the line is terrible for me and know I can do better. Thanks also for realizing what a 🤬 I'm being to you and others, don't want to annoy anybody but I set myself high standards 👍

Thanks chaps :) - its a bit premature to call it a podium... my chicane exit is messy and its only Wednesday; plenty of time yet for improvements from everyone and for a few more aliens to turn up and teach me a thing or two. 👍

Didn't your wheel pack it in a few weeks ago?
Not completely, it was just making strange noises. I've knocked my FFB strength setting down to 2 now so it doesn't get so hot and it seems ok for the most part.

It looks like I'm having a good week but we'll see how the mop flops on Monday eh? :sly: I really struggled the last 3 weeks, includng my DQ at Monaco, so there had to be another one I got on with at some point.

Really considering throwing in the towel...
You're currently 3rd in D2 and 9th overall... hardly what I'd call an epic failure. Aim low, shoot high, expect to hit nothing... WRS is fun, not about winning. I struggle for pace with most combos - sometimes hitting a sweet spot during the week, sometimes making very little progress. Doesn't stop me competing though.

I hated last week and couldn't pull a decent lap out until I managed my best lap with 15 minutes to spare before the dealine... still stayed in for the count though.

At Monaco I put in about 20 hours over the week and ended up with not a single clean lap and got my first DQ for carelessness and last minute desperation.

This week, I've done about 1 and a half hours and seem to be doing quite well, although its early days yet.

My point is that it seems to be more your expectations that are defeating you rather than the track.

You expect to do well and indeed you have done so each week you've competed so far. You expected to not do so well at this track and, in your view, that is how it is going at this moment.

How about just taking part, free of expectation, enjoying the competition and seeing where you end up when its over. I reckon Chuck is just about the perfect example of the embodiment of the spirit of WRS... take a leaf out of his book.

Thanks for the advise,

Apologies to everybody for my childish comments in this thread, i'm sure everybody must of had enough of my constant moaning right now. I am just going to chill out and get on with the time trial in hand.

Sorry for being a complete tool :sly:

Hang in there, you are sitting 8th overall, not bad!
My guess is just frustration.
I was happy to move up to mid 30's on the leaderboard, I'd dance the friggin JIG if i was ever frustrated to be in the top 10

Aim low, shoot high, expect to hit nothing...

Ah my Motto!!!

Nice vid Chris, sweet lines!

Cheers All !!!

Thanks for the encouragement, decided to stick with it, who knows might even be able to chase down Mr Bond on the splits leaderboard :sly:

I have submitted my times for qualifying and now I'm hoping that it is processed quick enough so I can post my times for this combo as I have really enjoyed doing it. All I can do is put my time against a friend of mine. (bloodimayhem).

Here is what I've got so far after my first session

T1: 37.228
T2: 24.464

still quite a bit of time to make up, I'm still playing with the brakes. 9/10 seem to be my favorite so far.
