Thanks for the info man; I'll do so when the time comes. 👍 I apologize for the more than likely obvious question, but is it true that once you qualify in a car that is your chosen car for the rest of the season (Spa, Laguna Seca and Nurb) or is that chosen car to qualify with only used for the following (1) race. ?

Actually, it's already an advantage, if you didn't take part in the first race, because one of the tracks at the extremes of the spectrum is already out of the picture. I guess that makes the decision a lot easier. ;)

The race date survey is now closed and the results are in: with 21 drivers responding, the original date/time of Sunday, July 28 @ 19:00 GMT is the winner so the event date will not be moved.

Registration for the Spa GT3 race is now open. Register here.

PS> If you are already committed to a manufacturer the car selection will still be visible on the form, but the system will ignore your choice and select the car for you.

Registered for Spa, with my lovely Ford GT 👍
This will be quite a challenge for me, I don't race on Spa that often.
Will do some serious practice this weekend.

Also registered and you'll be able to find me in the main lounge practicing this evening at around 19:30 GMT.

Is it okay to participate in only one of these races? I might be able to make the one this month, but it is unlikely that I'll make either of the other two. I didn't see this referenced in the original post, so am I safe to assume that is okay?

100% ok!

I would absolutely love to join you for the rest of this series, I have ran a series very similar to this myself outside of GTPlanet, and love the GT3 road car spec you have made here. 👍

My own spec had alot more cars to choose from though, including corvette Z06, Aston Martin V12 and the other 4wd models, it worked very well in my opinion. This looks very good though, the simpler the better i guess.

Unfortunately I have only just submitted my Replays to GTP. Do you think I will get on the registry before the SPA race? I hope so...

Hopefully you should get a provisional division at least before the Spa race as long as your replays and info are all correct 👍, which enables you to race in all the WRS/3D3 online events.

Including the Parity event July 13th/14th https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=273719 which is great close racing as well as our weekly Wednesday races which is a bit wet this week https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=285289

I ran a handful of laps with the Ferrari and McLaren yesterday. Both cars were a lot of fun! I'll try the Mercedes and Ford later today.

A regulation question, the Ferrari is supposed to be 589pp. Mine is broken in (over 200 miles) and set up as indicated in the OP with a fresh oil change, but comes in at 588pp. Does this car take longer to break in than others?

If you put the added weight at -50 position you'll hit the 589PP :)

From the OP:

I believe that should be Team Ford, thank you very much.

With 7 more days till Qualifying opens here is a quick note for the track boundries for Spa.
Also for pit entry for the race try to avoid the wall and stay in the white lines.

Speaking of the leaderboard, I've upgraded it to show the sector/split times. It'll be interesting to see how the cars compare in the different sectors which should bring out the different advantages of each car.

Thanks Tim, I was already looking for Bernie's splits. Was surprised to see we have totally different splits which only means there's still a lot of time on track.

Right. That first sector is basically depending on Eau Rouge only. I remember I was very conservative there, because I didn't know at that point how much curb is acceptable. Guess I have to cut a little more to get those 6 tenths. ;)

Will especially be interesting to see how the other cars shape up in the sectors...

OR הַלְּלוּיָהּ if you speak Hebrew! (I don't.)

PS> Pekka was kind enough to let me publish his tunes for each of the cars (he used for testing):

Seriously? That's some crazy setups there...

Pekka is a mad genius with his setups. His tunes don't always work for me, but when they do they work really well.

I suppose maximum spring rate would be ok for Spa. I would have thought that these would be better for racing softs than hards.

They are meant to tune out as much understeer as possible.

Ok, I'm not the greatest tuner, but I just thought the lesser the tyre the lower the spring rate, in general.

I'll give them a try. 👍
