This one is on my calendar. After the anniversary race from Wednesday I will shift my focus to this one, though I'm still at about 60% making the event.

đź‘Ť Good, I need help tuning the Ford to this track.

Still 100%.

đź‘Ť đź‘Ť

Now we just have to hear from Joe and we're good. Let's hope we can get enough for at least one full room here! Looks like we've already got all 4 teams represented.

Where is EDK? This is his "home" track so I would expect him to show up unless he has a real life race.

I am still 100%.:)

I have a little practice in, I will get something on the practice leader board by the end of the week.đź‘Ť

I'm hopping into the lounge for a short practice.

Edit: Sorry, change of plans. I'll leave myself in the lounge but will be AFK for a while.

Qualifying Open

[*]Once you have submitted a qualifying time with a chosen car, you may not change cars for the duration of the series.

Qualifying

The qualifying deadline is approximately 19 hours prior to race start which is Saturday 21st at 23:59 GMT . Late qualification may be allowed if spots are open, but late qualifying drivers will start at the back of the grid.

Qualifying will take place during the ten days prior to the race. Drivers can arrange ad hoc sessions with an approved qualifying steward at any time during the window. All qualifying sessions will require a steward to set up the lounge to proper specs and will consist of short "races" which are observed and verified by stewards and other drivers. Standard WRS track rules are in effect during these races and any infractions will be penalized a minimum of 2 seconds per incident unless it is beyond a reasonable doubt that the "infraction" had a negative impact on the lap time. Each driver can attempt qualifying only once.

Qualification times will not be published until the qualification window closes. Drivers are allowed to share their own quali times via PM or other private communications and others can observe their runs with permission from the driver, but qualification lap times or any information that be used to derive quali lap times should not be posted/discussed in any public thread.

Qualifying Race Procedure
  1. A race steward will set up the lounge to the proper specs for the class.
  2. The driver will be given an out lap and a single hot lap in free run for a final warm up if desired (Drivers should come to the session already warmed up and prepared).
  3. After the completion of the practice hot lap the race timer will be started.
  4. The qualifying steward and any other observers will monitor the race live to validate the run and save a replay in case of any protest.
  5. The qualifying races will consist of 5 laps: 1 un-timed out-lap + 3 timed hot-laps + 1 un-timed in-lap
  6. When the driver finishes the final hot lap he should slow down and park on track before finishing the in-lap.
  7. Lap times and any infractions will be noted and announced by the steward.
  8. When the driver and steward are in agreement on the recorded net lap times the driver can exit the track.

I should be in lounge B tonight after 19:30 GMT running some laps and maybe short races if a few join.

Here is how we are doing the qualifying for the Nurburgring, please have a read.

Grid positions and Qualifying for Nurburgring 24hrs

Drivers that are within 10 points of the championship leader on points after the race at Laguna will start in Room A, and line up in the order of points scored at the front of the grid.

All other drivers who wish to race at the Nurburgring must pre-qualifiy prior to the race for grid positions. Drivers who do not pre-qualify may still race, but will start from the back of grid, providing there be empty slots in the room.

Pre qualifying will be a scheduled 1 lap hot-lap "Ghost Race" as used in Nordschleife Dream Combo, dates for which these take place will be available closer to the date of the race.

There will be a guaranteed grid placement for the drivers who have made all 3 races, irrespective of the amount of drivers signed up and qualifying times.

Example 1: 18 drivers sign up for Nurb, 2 drivers would be put on reserve.
The 2 drivers who would be put on reserve, will be the slowest qualifiers of those who have not competed in all 3 previous events, irrespective of championship points.

Example 2: 32 drivers sign up for Nurb.
8 drivers able to win the championship would take the first 8 spots on the grid in points order.
The rest of the grid for Room A and B would be made up using the pre qualifying times.

Setting up GTP_3D3_B for some practice laps. Feel free to join.

EDIT: Probably not staying much longer, car feels great already and cut 1sec off my previous time within 8 laps w/ 75% full fuel. đź‘Ť
Didn't even change my Pekka tune at all from Spa...which means I didn't even use 6th gear here.

Sorry I couldn't join you Lucas... I'm laying off the driving for a couple days hoping my back can recover from the abuse I gave it the last 10 days... Feeling better already. I am going to be away most of tomorrow watching my sons' soccer games, but I'd be up for some practice later tomorrow night if you are still up for it.

My tune for Laguna Seca qualifying so far:

Thanks for putting that up, Bart:tup:, and I knew it wouldn't take long for you to pull back into the lead on the practice board. ;)

Ran a few laps offline with tire wear on and real grip... the car is not very forgiving that's for sure :scared:... unlike that corvette a few weeks ago you can't get away with a tire in the sand an inch... it sucks you right in. Managed a 23.9 best with some left on track, but won't post it as it wasn't in an online lobby. I wish they had modeled Laguna with a bit more grip in the asphalt... the constant under steer gets annoying.

Trying to get to some practice for this but keep having other ideas about combos to run. Tim said he'll be on in a while, but if anyone else wants to practice, post here and I'll come join.

EDIT: Scratch that, other plans came up. Maybe Sunday night, as I'm away most of Sunday daytime.

Up to now I should be in lounge B around 19:30 GMT today to get some more practice in. Feel free to join

Too many good football games on today so won't make it. Maybe tonight after the Seattle vs SF game.

I'm going to have to drop off reserve for this race. This weekend is just too busy for me.
Good luck to everyone. đź‘Ť Hope to make the final race though. :)

Would like to do a full race practice on friday @ 19:30 GMT.
Need to figure out pit strategy and then do my qualification run afterwards.
If you like to join, please add you name to the list

Full race practice Laguna Seca Raceway - Main Lounge 20/09/2013 @ (19:30 GMT | 00:30 PM Pacific | 3:30 PM Eastern)

  1. GTP_n0iZe - Ford GT - 100%

P.S. Just noticed that the registration table for the Laguna Seca race is showing my name for Division 2 Gold, instead of Silver. Can someone of the admins fix this please? Thank you in advance.

Heh. Me, too. Seems like all division 2 & 3 drivers got honorary gold status.

I'd like to race this Sunday, however I'm having issues with GT5's online. Whenever I join a room, I get booted out after about 30-60 seconds later. However I never lose connection to GT5's servers or PSN. I also have not had any issues playing other games online (ex. GRID 2). I'm guessing it's my router interfering, even though I'm pretty sure nothing has been changed on it since GT5 online was last working properly for me.

I watched the most recent Rolex Series race which was at Laguna a week or two ago. From what I remember, all of the drivers were complaining about a general lack of grip, and apparently it is a common issue at that track. So perhaps the way GT5 has it is more realistic :P

Have you set up the PS3 to be in the DMZ on your router? GT5 is more finicky about connections than most games and I think requires less latency or it just dumps you (DC). It's the nature of racing that requires more frequent and reliable updates versus a FPS game so it's probably somewhat cooked into the game. Anyway, DMZ or NAT1 may help. Also power cycle everything on your network: DSL/Cable modem, router, any switches, PS3. Sometimes these things develop glitches like anything else and need to be rebooted.

Yah, it's probably right... and the corners are mostly off camber so it makes it more likely to under steer. Not to mention you have to setup the car not to go crazy in the cork skrew so you can't dial in too much over steer with the tune.

Will be in the 3D3 B lounge tonight from about 19:30 GMT to approximately 20:30 to get some practice. Feel free to join me.

EDIT: joining now the lounge
