Hmm. After a promising first couple of laps, I only went backwards the whole race. Had heavy understeer from the middle of the stints and everyone seemed to just pass me by when the tyres went away. So maybe I should have 3-stopped.

Great race everyone. Congratulations to Bart and Jamie for the respective wins.
Also congratulations to Mohit and Tim for the podium in room A and Rock3t for the second place in room B 👍
Team Ford did an amazing job in Room A with taking all 3 podium spots and 4th place.

Had a rough start and lost a few places early on. Couldn't find my rythm in the first stint. After pitting in lap 14 I managed to finally find the concentration and did a couple of good laps, the car felt very good with not so much fuel on board. Pitted the second time on lap 27 and did a quite normal last stint.
Didn't have much wheel to wheel action, but it was better for me, because early on I struggled quite a bit in draft and made some mistakes.
Once I was on my own I started to get good laptimes.

Pretty happy with my second podium and looking forward to Laguna Seca 👍

Special thanks to all the Stewards and Admins for making this great Championship possible, you're doing a great job :gtpflag:

Joel, Paul and Ren congrats on keeping the mercedes flag high 👍
I'm really sad I pulled out of this but I had to :(, just came back home. Seemed great fun.

I miss others MB drivers. We had (Paul & me) good racing and battling for few laps with each other. Last 12 laps (after last/2nd pitstop) we were driving together (Paul ahead of me) and i was waiting (saving my tires) to make my move on last two laps on Paul but that chance never came because race incident with Lucas. When i watched replay i don't think that i could done anything to pass Paul because our tires were similar condition. I'm happy with my race.
Well done everyone and congrads to podium finishers in both rooms 👍
See you on next race.

Congrats Bart on the win, and also for coming so close to a 2'16.

Well done Tim and Mohit for the other podium spots in A. 👍

And everyone else who enjoyed themselves in this amazing race weekend: 👍👍

Lots of great clean racing out there. I had some embarrassing moments, and felt pretty bad about the race for a few hours afterward, but watching the replay later that night reminded me that the good far outweighed the bad.

I will publicly apologize (and have already via PM) to Joel for ruining his patient strategy behind Paul. You were great to race around, and it really helps to know you came away happy, regardless. :)
I will try to be more careful in the future.

Was great to have some close, epic laps with Jon and Speedy, always fun. :D

And many thanks to Pekka, who literally spent hours with me the day before the race, honing his tune and explaining each change in detail. I felt at-one with the car when we were done.

Sincerely gutted that I couldn't make it, to be honest I don't think I'm going to be able to make any of the dates, being that they are all Sunday nights. I would literally have to kick the wife out for the night.

Hopefully there will be a series that falls on a night that suits me.

Thank you. It's just that you're too fast for me and we don't get many chance to compete in race. So it was fun to race with you too.

Thanks everyone for turning out and making Spa a great race in both lounges 👍👍👍.

Congrats to Bart and Jamie for there wins, and Tim, Mohit, Rock3t, and daniel for there podiums 👍👍👍

I had a great first 13 laps with close racing with Christophe, Jon, Lucas, Snow and Joel 👍👍👍 and the last stint with Joel on my tail most of the time and Wii catching and passing both of us :).

I took a few pictures of me passing Snow and Joel on the start finish straight :sly: and a couple of others.

Sorry man, I did, where are my manners?!? Congrats on that win, and having to work through the field to get it. 👍
Congrats to Rocket and Daniel for their podiums as well.

Shout out to Ren as well, with little sleep and no prep time, bashing through the field.

Great pics, Paul. 👍

Sorry Gravi... excuse my rudeness I was in a foul mood earlier (had some bad news when I looked at my bank balance) :( Thanks for the reply but I was out of order really, anyway was a really good race I was happy because I didn't make any costly mistakes for the whole race which is not like me ;) It was a tough race and rocket was catching me at the end... I tried the sls and the gt the night before the race with no luck. I wanted to stay away from the Ferrari because there seemed a lot of people signed up with it, never the less I got it out and after a few laps I realised that was the car for me.... Thanks for the congrats guys and sorry again gravi 👍👍

Well done everyone in room a/b was a pleasure racing with the pro's

nice pictures moff mate :)

No problem JB, got your PM, and no offense taken. Was just trying to put a quick post out, without focusing too much on my own boneheaded mistakes. :dunce:

I totally get that it's hard to know ahead of time, but would have been great had you put in a pre-quali time and been in the A room. But as it was, you kind of helped push JTV to the A room, and represent the only McLaren there.
So there's the silver lining. :)

The results are now official and posted on the first page (the unofficial results were not adjusted).

Gooners has 64 points and a sizable 9 point lead after two races with two room A podiums to his credit. Madmax and Wii are tied in 2nd with two solid finishes and 55 points followed by a fairly large pack of drivers all within 15 points of first. Wes dropped from first to 7th, but is not out of contention. Bart jumped all the way to 12th with his 35 point win, but having missed the first race, it's an up hill battle.

A little birdy told me gooners may miss at least one race, so this championship is wide open.

Registration is now open for the Laguna race... the wait is long until Sept 22! Don't feel rushed to register if you have no idea of your availability.

Im surprised to be up in fourth after two races :)

Nice to see the Ford, Ferrari, Merc and Mclaren reprensted in the top 5 as well.

And if you look at the top 8, there are 2 of each mfg! 👍 Didn't notice that before you mentioned it.

Thanks everyone. Well done to all finishers 👍 It's always nice to race at Spa, my favorite track together with the Nürburgring. I was chased hard by Mohit and Tim in the first few laps. Didn't give me a chance to get into the groove properly. Unfortunately Mohit lost control in Pouhon, which gave me the room to just concentrate and I built a gap to Tim. Second and third stints we were not too far apart. I was lucky I didn't catch any other cars after both pit stops. I only encountered Jon's fabulously painted McLaren, who gave way very graciously.

Looking at the points table the championship is still wide open, especially for those that will drive all four races. It would be very hard to make up more than 20 points if you miss one race.

Your lucky i went for a picnic on the bus stop chicane or it would have been alot closer

Haha I noticed the 3.5 gap increased to an 8. lead... I was getting a bit nervous :scared:

Iwill make sure quali for the next event... was last minute for spa as I only recently got my hands on a wheel setup again.... Thanks again lucas, hope to race again soon :)

Damn, just realised I might not be able to make the next race at Leguna Seca. I think that's like, the day after I'm moving house or something.

Definitely going to be on for Nurburgring though, not missing that for a thing :D

I guess it is time to get back into my McLaren!!!!!!

Still have one F1 race between now and then next GT3 race so I think activity might be a bit low in here until after the F1 Grand Prix of Italy on Sept 8. On the other hand, I guess a little cross training won't hurt!

Unfortunately I am not able to participate in the F1 race. It's on my favourite track too! :(

Well then we'll leave you in charge here. Round up the GT3 drivers and organize some practices. 👍

Currently in the 3D3 B Lounge running some laps to get a feel for Laguna Seca.
Feel free to join me anytime.

4 days till qualifying opens, doesnt time fly :scared:.

Ill be dusting of the Merc after the WRS F1 race on Sunday :)

Put up an initial practice time. :) Still not sure if I'll make this one, but I'll most likely qualify on the week leading up to the race. This is going to be quite the insane race.

I need to get some practice in this week and qualify early, hopefully get a half decent lap in.

Has anyone set the B lounge to default to Laguna? We should probably use that lounge as the "exclusive" practice lobby for the GT3 series until Thursday Sept 19 at which point the main lounge will be reserved for GT3.

I plan to start preparing for Laguna after the race on Wednesday.

One other thing: It's been a while since we opened registration. There are a few drivers that signed up a month ago and we would like to see them re-verify they are taking part in the Laguna race:
  • Joe (otxjto)
  • Jammy
  • Bart (PASM)
Just drop a note here in the thread to re-confirm please.

This one is on my calendar. After the anniversary race from Wednesday I will shift my focus to this one, though I'm still at about 60% making the event.
