GTP_WRS-Online Event 42 : Nada Neon - Nov 8th/12th

EU Race lobby open. It's going to be 1 big room. Those that have confirmed should all have a place. The remaining spot will be given on a first come first serve basis.

That was incredible.
I didn't watch the whole thing but this is what I learned:

Bart can go through the uphill left in s3 faster than humanly possible
Steve is great defensive driver. Great job on protecting inside on entry AND exit from the hairpin (first time I saw it in the WW race from Paul (bayz0007))
You guys are really good

Yes, that was a great race. That was some serious car control you 3 showed at the end. @GTPGhost nice win 👍, I think you were ok with them in a heated battle while you got to drive off all by yourself.

Did the EU race and the NA race today. I really enjoyed doing both! I'm happy to be part of this great group of GT6, :gtplanet: and race enthusiasts! Thank you guys for the battles and making this all worthwhile! already looking forward to the next appointment!

:gtpflag:

Cheers,

Kevin

EU Race:- Well done to GhostDriver for the win, it looked like a 4 car freight train up front and everyone else for a great race overall.

The result didn't happen for me in the race but I enjoyed it all the same - I had some great battles with Roamer2629, bayz0007, Roesza, amongst others.

After setting high 39s in practice, I had a good feeling about the race and went into qualifying expecting a reasonable slot but couldn't put together a good lap between the 6mins allowed. :(

Ended up starting in 9th and, after a few laps, soon realised that passing opponents on Apricot Hill is down to people dropping off track rather than making passes such is the flowing, rhythmic nature of the track, so was racing mid-pack, unable to make a break-out but had some great racing - defence, attack, faster in some areas, slower in others but all-in-all, had a good race. Apologies to the couple of racers I slightly bumped entering the hairpin.

Bad luck on the disconnect Hasslemoff, watching the replay back was an eye-opener with the network 'editing' its own version of events!?!

Overall, another great race for me in the WRS and I'm looking forward to the next 1, thanks guys. :D

Glad to hear it. 👍 The NA race was tons of fun too. :D

On that note, we are very close to not having the WW race for License to Overtake, simply because a lot of us are running the Nurburgring endurance races this weekend.

Only "Like" this post if you think you can make it on the normal time listed below, and we'll gauge interest before we put the thread public in about ~12hrs.

Oops....mea culpa...I will re-register...you are right...hard to be in two places at once...even virtually

Just to put it into perspective, the WW race starts 1hr before the N6 is done. So if you are done with your N6 stint(s) early and feel like abandoning your team, you could make it. :P

Congrats @GTPGhost on the EU win. Thank you @skyline1683, @RS__96__oO, and @PASM for joining him and putting on one hell of a show!

@mr_lab_rat and I could have battled the entire time but I opted for safe and let Mike pull me, and threw in some bump-drafting for good measure :embarrassed:, and just kept an eye in the mirror on @MadMax's bright light blue Integra. 👍 Looks like that worked because we were able to *almost* match @Animera / @skyline1683's WW race pace. :D (but they were battling the whole race)

Despite my comments in the time trial thread (finding the TT annoying), this combo was selected with the online races in mind, and I'm glad Mike's car gave us some races to remember.

It sure surprised me to get rear-ended in the middle of the long straight. When you did it the third time I started thinking that it must be something you crazy Americans do :D
As far as this being "my car" most of you know that the combo was inspired by the Integra (and its little sister CRX) dominance in the Career Championship - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...reer-championship-next-event-23rd-nov.316571/. I felt some extra pressure from expectations to do well here.
I hope 3rd in D2 TT, great comeback from 12th to 4th in WW, and a win in NA race fulfilled your expectations. It sure exceeded mine :)

Definitely, Mike. You kicked "tail". :sly: 👍

That sounded weird. How about this:

MILD LANGUAGE WARNING

And Lucas , I should have know you were bumpdrafting there when I was gaining on leader everywhere else than on straiths.

Sure, I guess rats have butts, too. 👍

I knew if Mike and I battled anywhere near the way Animera/skyline and Ghost/skyline/RS/Bart  did that we would just slow each other down. Might have been fun, but then I'd have to look at your crazy blue even more close-up. :)

Thanks for reminding everyone to keep the language at PG level. I was shocked to find out how young some of the guys here are.
I'm not sure how much time we gained. I didn't know Lucas was saving energy for a strong push in the final laps so I drove defensively whenever I got in front. He is way more experienced so he knew it was going to come down to the final turn and drag/draft race to the finish line. And it sure did (0.034 margin).
