Daytona practice lobby open in club lobby.

@hasslemoff, are the car specs likely to change as we discussed in the Motegi lobby last week?

i.e. Reduce power of all cars to around 530bhp, to allow removal of turbo 2 from the Z.

This method was tried and tested for the duration of our last two seasons.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anything is going to change before I start doing too much practice with current bhp regulations.

No there will be no reduction in power to all cars, I think that was mentioned in the chat that its to much to change the specs of all the cars now.

-Why does Aug only get 10kg for a win?
-Why does IP get 15kg for a 2'nd place?
-Why does me and Ayhancan recieve 5kg despite not even being on the podium?

Ballast Handicapp
  1. 15kg
  2. 10kg
  3. 5kg
The top 3 Championship point Leaders receive the above ballast after each round (max 45kg). Round 5 all ballast is reset to 0kg.

Yeah, I just saw that...

Well thats a stupid way of adding ballast.

And then tell me why I get +5kg even tho i'm only 4'th?

If I understood correctly, you're putting ballast to the leaders of the championship because you want to "even out" the field right? In that case, it would make sense since if both have the same amount of points, they should have the same amount of handicap.

I did not notice any penalty in the pit line. Did you?

I actually forgot to practice pit entry lol. Even after reminding everyone else to do it! :banghead:

Oops haha!!

With regard to the ballast penalty system, I think it is fair to have both 3rd place drivers on the same ballast. I don't see any other way around it, if they are equal on points! Besides, it's only an extra 5 kilos, not going to make much difference anyway! :)

I think the current ballast system is good for promoting a tight overall points championship but that it's not the best for promoting the closest racing. For example, if someone new to the series were to race this week and win, it's likely they wouldn't receive any ballast, although in the interest of closer racing I'd argue that their pace would indicate they deserve it. I think one's view of how ballast should be given comes down to what they value more: a tighter points championship or tighter racing.

However, as @hasslemoff points out, the rules were clear about how the ballast system would work before racing began.

Does anyone know how I can select the G29 steering wheel in the Gran turismo game on my Ps3 ?
It's not in the menu (of course !).

There isnt a way. I have the G29 as well and GT6 just recognizes the wheel as a G27 wheel. So if you want to adjust some buttons or settings on your G29 wheel you will be adjusting it under the G27 wheel settings on GT6.

Good Luck to all the GT500 Racers this weekend at Daytona!

you have to make any adjustment under DRIVING FORCE GT steering controller. (the buttons are almost the same).

PlayStation®3: Set the mode switch to PS3. Your G29 racing wheel will appear as a Driving Force GT in supported games.
NOTE: The clutch pedal, RPM indicator lights, and optional Driving Force Shifter attachment will not function on PlayStation®3.

PlayStation®4: Set the mode switch to PS4. All buttons and accessories will function in games that support them.

PC: Set the mode switch to PS4.
NOTE: You must install Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) 8.70 or later on the PC for full functionality. Once you’ve installed LGS, all buttons and accessories will function in the games that support them.

Regarding all the hot air about ballast. We had a stock answer in the Air Farce.....RTFR....which in pc correct english would translate as Read the Frigging Regs. Another translation would be..guess what....he's the boss...say Yes Sir ( kinda like Yes Dear at home). Like She....HE is always right....because its his series....which is not a democracy.

And yea I'm last or near last....but guess what....I LOVE THE SERIES....give em hell Paul.

BTW....MSGT....you are only 18.5 mph faster than me.....down both straights....but I can stay with you in the infield....which translates into @4 seconds slower....but like I said its just as much about the experience as the winning.

Cheers and check 6.... Or should that be 12?
