#GT300 Update

Hello everyone,

It’s time for an #GT300 update there are a few things that i’d like to discuss so let’s get cracking.

Congratulations!
First of I want to congratulate @PASM (Bart) on taking the first bracket win. But in general I want to congratulate everyone involved both on and off track on a job well done!. In our point of view we put down some solid fun races and we learned a bit in the process as well.

Recap of bracket 1
As many of you already saw @Tidgney made some awesome video’s in case you’ve missed them I will add the links at the end of this post. So you can view all of them or if you’re looking for a way to get started, you’ll get an idea of what the races are like.

Driving standards & Penalties
A downside in the first bracket was that we had to hand out two penalties. One for causing a collision and one for track limits. That's why I want to emphasize that when you caused a collision we expect you to slow down on a safe side of the track and wait for the other driver to catch up and let them pass you. After that make sure you can join racing speed and racing line in a safe manner. This is the only way not resulting in a penalty and keep in mind that the penalty is not only x amount of seconds for the offense. But we keep track of what time the affected driver lost and add that. So in general keep it clean, if you make a mistake and take responsibility for it.

Same goes for gaining an advantage by cutting or going of track. Of course this can happen. But lift afterwards so you show you didn’t gain an advantage and the next lap you should know you went of so make sure it doesn’t happen again.

If in your opinion a driver breaks these rules, first discus this with them and see if you can fix this amongst yourselfs. You’d be amazed what you can solve between the two of you by just getting in to an decent mannered dialogue. If the both of you cant reach consensus you can always pm a steward. However the order should always be contact the driver and when it doesn’t work out contact the steward. Not the otherway around by first complaining to us and not discussing the situation with the driver involved. We won’t be handling complaints in which there hasn’t been contact between both drivers before hand.

That being said. There were some minor little issues but overall the racing standards have been great and this is just a mention to keep it that way.

Future of the #GT300 Championship.

Due to the success of the first bracket and the postponement of GTsport we have decided to run the entire championship. However we’ve made some adjustments to it. We got feedback that some drivers would be interested in the Japanese tracks so we decided to add that in bracket two. However we decided to keep Bathhurst instead of Montegi so the second bracket will look like this.
Bathhurst 22-10-16
Fuji 29-10-16
Suzuka 5-11-16
(for the Americans change day and month)

For the bathhurst event we’ll be running the 1st race at noon the 2nd race at twillight and 3rd race at night. Please keep this in mind while practicing. Using shadows as breakmarkers during the night won’t help :P

Bracket 3 will feature legendary endurance tracks.

Spa 19-11-16
Le Mans 26-11-16
Nurburgring 24 hours 10-12-16
(for the Americans change day and month)

So the Nurburgring 24 hours track will be the last on our calendar and to celebrate we’ve decided to make that race an 2.4 hour endurance battle which will feature an entire day and night cycle.

Attention! We've moved from 19:00 gmt to 20:00 gmt this is so the Australian participants can join us aswell. (@mcsqueegy @StigsTC)

Times and dates will be updated in the OP asap. (The dates won't collide with the DRRES)

Points and Championship
We’ve decided to keep the idea of bracket champions and the overall champion. So for bracket 2 a new bracket champion will be crowned and for that everybody starts with a fresh 0 point on their counter. However the points out of bracket one will be kept for the overall championship. Because we know not everyone can make every race we’ll allow every driver to get rid of one of there worst event scores. This will provide a bit more flexibility for those who can’t attend an event or had an off day.

Last but not least I want to thank all the stewards and @Tidgney for helping me out with organizing this project. And I hope to see you all on track at the end of October!

Cheers,

Kevin

See you guys at Bathurst :sly: Can't wait to get back involved in this great championship

but we're not using that one. although stats may seem to be the same that isn't always the case so we stick with the basemodels we balanced.
Oh, OK. Then, the 542PP is available for the base model as well. :D

Edit: Why are listed the non base models also

I'm sorry I think I don't understand your question.

Here are the cars and their settings, right? :)

Below the base models are listed the original models - AsparaDrink, Weds Sport, Cusco Dunlop.

My "Edit" question was, why the originals are listed if they can't be used anyway?

My initial intention was to tell you that the RX 7's PP is incorrect and it's year ('08) is also incorrect. :)

Well the championship has been through quite a few changes since we first came up with the idea. I think the graphic is therefore a bit out dated. I'll fix this tomorrow. You're the first one to notice this and point it out. Thanks for that!

You're welcome! 👍

Registration is always open until 90 minutes before the race. After that, you can still register, but the drivers who already registered take priority. Please be aware that new drivers are very welcome at any point in the championship. Also, you don't need to do the whole bracket or championship, but you can just pick any event you like.

Hi,

I want to give the 2nd bracket a try. Is it necessary to tune the car(s)? I have no idea how to set them up neither can choose to use which car for which race. Maybe I throw a dice?

D.
