Hi guys, had a fortnight of torture with a brand new G27 struck down after 1 week with a sensor calibration malfunction and after trying everything Logitech had to offer to resolve the issue... it was agreed to refund me and take the wheel back! which was very kind of them considering I had it for a whole 3 weeks  :P even after reseting with the gaming software drivers the wheel would be settled with the centre of the wheel at quarter to the hour 👎

Anyway gonna start racing again soon but back to the old trusty DFGT for me and thank god that wheel is gone and my headache is over 👍 cya's on track soon :)
Cheers
Ron.

Sorry to hear about the problems Ron. @GTP_Dutchy bought a G27 recently too. Luckily his wheel is still going strong, but it had some problems with the D-pad on arrival, but it seems to have improved while it got used more. I don't know if Logitech is slacking a bit with quality control lately. Anyway, seems like I am in luck (touch wood) with my trusty G25, which I have now for 6 years.

Cya on track soon 👍

Indeed, mine had issues with the d-pad it would jam when I want to use the down arrow it still does occasionally but gets better when it gets worn in. other than that I'm very content with the quality of the wheel. But it always sucks if you just bought something and it's already broken.

OMG!.... I never noticed how light touch the brakes on DFGT were until booting up now for a few laps after G27, haha it's horrible... will have to learn how to press the brake with my little toe :D

Cheers

Before I bought the g27 i used the DFP Bart lend me. I did the bungeecord modification and it improved it by quite a bit although you have to find a solution to kept it from moving and wobbling in my case it was jamming my slippers underneath it. Nice cheap fix although its a bit magyverish.

I might have to try something like that! Cheers Kevin 👍

Do increased rim sizes give you more grip? I think I remember someone from the WRS saying they do, but I can't remember.

I've never heard or seen that proven. You're not thinking about the early days in GT6 where there was a bug with custom rims that made some cars slower (cars that had wider rear tires than front tires), which was fixed a good while ago, are you?

Oh, ok. I might be wrong.

And no, I wasn't thinking about that.

I've been wondering for a while but keep forgetting to ask...is there a reason we apply the oil change?

Yes, because we can't detect it in the replay, so have to opt for the higher power. I see your line of thinking and we would like to be able to specify some events without oil (which means you don't have to worry about constantly changing it).

You're a good chess player aren't you? I feel like you're constantly two moves ahead! :sly:

This is the official WRS off-topic, right?

Story time!

I'm a computer nerd. Work in IT, support huge telecommunication equipment research and development lab. So as a technician I'm not used to having many meetings. Maybe 3-4 important ones per year.
Not checking my calendar all the time makes it easy for me to miss these meetings.
Well, the meeting I missed last week was a bit different. I was supposed to be the presenter and about twenty very busy colleagues waited for me in the meeting room for 15 minutes before giving up. When I got back to my desk from the lab I realized what I have done and called my boss. I appologized for 10 minutes straight and eventually asked her why she didn't call me. She said she didn't know my phone number and it wasn't in the address book. I told her that I really love my job but there is no way I'm giving away my personal phone number to 100000+ people. She was surprised I didn't have a company phone as my job role pretty much requires it.
Long story short - I screwed up and got rewarded by new iPhone 6 and $70 per month savings (personal calls are allowed and it comes with 3GB data so I can ditch my personal plan).

Edit: Now everytime someone on our team does something stupid the nearest colleague makes fun of him by offering him a new phone as a reward :D

Well I've got two conclusions:

1-You must be very good at what you do in order to miss meetings all the time and get away with it :D

2-Contrary to what logic would suggest, being rewarded as a result of one's incompetence is a common event, Mike. I was promoted to Bartender once just because I was a hazard for customers when walking with a loaded tray. My tips tripled in two weeks time

Well done Mike:cheers:

That's awesome Mike. Shame it was an iPhone though... :)

Speaking of screwing up, last Wednesday I hit a trailer with my trailer while trying to do a 180.. ripped the landing gear off the trailer and pushed it into 2 other trailers. I got rewarded with a bonus loss and a random drug test lol

@mr_lab_rat Adding to @roamer2629 's point. I once hit a curb with my dad's car result two damaged rims. I drove back scared as hell. When I got home he was real pissed but not in the proportions I would have expected(I expected torture with a lot of blood involved etc....) Instead I got the speech I deserved and I moved to my room as soon as I saw the window

next morning: Kevin WAKE UP!!!! I thought that the devil came down on earth and expected the torture that I so cunningly evaded the night before. Then he said today we're gonna buy you your own car. If I knew this would be the result of damaging the car I would have done it earlier :P(Don't tell him)

One of those typical moments everyone recognizes when you think all is lost and it turns for the better. On the otherside I had some moment when I know before hand that things are gonna go wrong, you do it anyway and in hindsight you think what was I thinking of? how stupid am I? I knew what was gonna happen and i did it anyway (I think it's what we call testosterone) :P

Now I'm curious how many miles I have done but won't be able to check until I come back from vacation.

Javier - yes, I think I'm good at my job and my boss knows it.
Brandon - I don't mind the iPhone. I might be smart but I'm also lazy. IPhone is perfect device for lazy people. Sorry to hear about the bad luck at work.
Kevin - great story.

I didn't hit anything, but yesterday I was accused of it anyway. Some lawyer said I hit her Cadillac when I was backing into a dock. It's been cleared up, but no bonus. Apparently not hitting stuff is just expected.
