My dfgt is glitching like mad these days, so I've taken the plunge on the t500rs. Fingers crossed.

Between my PS3 and the amount of money I have spent on wheels, stands, I've now spent more on virtual driving than I spent on my first real car.

What was wrong with the DFGT? Just curious because I've had mine since 2008 and the only thing wrong is that the R/A red dial doesn't work well (but it's not like it matters in GT6 ).

It's like it occasionally confuses the throttle with the "select" button or even the PS3 button. I'll step on the gas and it will switch views (ie from bumper cam to cockpit view) or worse it will kick me out to the xmb. It seems to be getting progressively worse too. Whatever the case I don't trust it enough to race with it right now.

After a full year of absence I am gearing up to rejoin the GTP and WRS community. The console is being repared and I ordered the new game this morning. After moving to a new house I now have an attic for myself for the turismo business.
It'd be nice to race you all again both online and offline soon 👍

Would anyone be interested in doing some fun races were the laps are set just higher than you fuel tank can reach? We could use cars from the recommended section(or whatever it's called in GT6), on a track like London, with very fast tire wear and fuel consumption. If you could do 20 laps on fuel, the laps would be set to 21 or 22. So it's a mix of who is the fastest, and who can save fuel the best.

Edit: No pitting of course.

I want to see the replay of everyone running out of fuel at the same time and limping to the line. :P

Sounds interesting. Not exactly Last Man Standing (which we tried after the Motegi race), but more of a Lift-n-Coast and short-shift.

That sounds like fun and in London it's no problem because you can't even pit. There is no pit.

Has anyone widened the distance between the T500Rs pedals? The center post on the Playseat makes lining them up impossible!

I don't have a Center post, but I still adjusted my pedals. If you just loosen the allen screws that hold the pedal plates in place, they can be set in several new positions, higher or lower, toward the left or right. I recall just messing with it until I found something comfortable, was mainly to make more clearance for left foot braking.

Thanks for the reply Kevin. I have moved the brake plate as far left as I can. What should have been stated was physically moving the brake pedal.

If you are pretty motivated and your play seat has something to mount them on, I'm about 90% sure you can remove your pedals from the housing and hard mount them on the rig. I know people have done it with G25/27 pedals.

My return is postponed for a little while as the repaired console appeared not to be repaired ... hope to be back soon anyway 👍

I guess this is the place for new members to ask question?

I have zero experience racing online and I am looking for suggestions on how to get stated. I am doing the weekly time trial right now but I need to get familiar with the basic online menu navigation stuff before I even think about trying to join a race or series.

I was in a public room once with 4 others for 30 min and them some addl. people joined. Right after the start of the next race at a tight corner one of newcomers slammed into the back of me ( I don't think he ever hit his breaks!) causing me to hit the race host. I got booted immediately (was not using my mic at the time) and he never responded to the PSN msg I sent after it happened. I kind of want to avoid that kind of situation again if I can.

I am on GT6 sometimes as early as 22:00 and as late at 05:00 my time (I'm -6GMT) and this does not seem very popular.

That's a public lobby for you. Like @Animera (Ian) said, your best bet is to join a WRS race.

That looks fun but I can't reliably attend at this time (10:00pm EST is 9pm where I am). I did not find anything between 04:00 and 10:00 GMT on the league directory.

Where is the best place to look?

None of the wednesday schedule suits you either Rudd? There's the A-spec Championship too, it requires more preparation but it's a lot of fun...

The Wednesday NA time slot is close but too early for you (but I think the quality of these races is worth making time for).
I'm in the same situation, my preferred time slot is pretty much identical to yours.
There is this - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...e-dec-4th-willow-springs-2-slots-open.319261/
I'm seriously considering just starting a west coast club and organize some races there.
If you are still in 1'03s T2 for this combo that would put you in Division 3, it shouldn't be too difficult to find opponents with similar speed.

mr_lab_rat thanks for all your help and feedback.

I have a green light for next Wednesday so I intend to sign up for the WRS Event 44 on the 26th.

The Gentlemen's Cup sounds great and the time should work for me. Unfortunately my son has out of town b-ball tourneys that conflict with the dates of the next two races. I will keep my eye on when the next event is announced.

Roamer
I could not find an A spec Championship listed. Can you clarify the name/ location or give me a link so I can look at it.
Thanks!

I think it's this, although I could be mistaken.

Yeah that is the thread he meant. It takes preparation to do that event as you have a certain budget to buy a car from certain requirements (Drivetrain, PP level, year, etc.). Once you have chosen you will have to test in an online lobby to see if your car can meet the maximum lap time. If you beat it, you will have to detune the car by using the power limiter. You'll have to so that for 3 tracks where the races are for that day.

It's a lot of fun, mostly because you have everyone being quite close to each other in terms of pace!

Yeah I have seen it, looks great but it is at 20:00 GMT which I can't do. Best time for me is 04:00 - 10:00 GMT. I am going to do the WRS on Thursday and Lab Rat pointed one out that will work going forward.

See you wednesday Rudd. You are going to love it :gtpflag:

I do know the WRS is on Wednesday. The races Lab Rat told be about occur on Thursday.

I did mention I have problems with short term memory. :boggled:
