I've just sent you an invite for the GTP_WRS club, where our races take place. đź‘Ť

I sat looking at all the new features and attempted to join that club, too. I had two invites, but neither invite allowed me to join, so I found it manually.

I suppose I should find out what features changed between August and now at some point :)

A Merry Christmas from Alex Wurtz at Toyota via Twitter

Happy Boxing Day to those Christmas-inclined! Risk of snow here today, so unless I get other games out of my '2nd Christmas Day' then a bit of WRS might be on the cards!

Anyone get any 'weird' presents?
Anyone get any games?

The Altezza is an absolute joy to drive with the D1 settings. ;)

No weird presents or games for me. Standard fare, which I am fine with.

Happy Christmas Matt! My kids got a PS3 (no need for a PS4) so I've been "helping" them with the Lego super hero games which are lots of fun. I'm currently trying to work out the ridiculousness that is Disney Infinity 2.0 - they couldn't make that any more complicated if they tried!

I was very pleased to receive "The Unfair Advantage" by Mark Donohue which I'm really looking forward to reading.

Mark drove almost exclusively for Roger Penske, who like Mark, was a very analytical driver. I grew up in the 60s when two Racing Series were born. The Trans Am and the Can Am. Roger and Mark, who was an engineer, always had something more advanced that the press coined as the Unfair Advantage....and later after Mark's death (while driving the Penske F1 car) it was used both in Racing and advertising as The Penske Advantage...which was, of course nothing more than thinking through a problem and finding the fix BEFORE the other teams or drivers even knew there was a problem, much less how they were going to fix it. Mark was my hero. He was a college kid who was sorta rolly poly faced looking....the All American Boy.

His death during practice for the Austrian GP in 1975 staggered the US racing and fan community much like Jim Clarks had staggered the European World and racing fans everywhere.

Here is my favorite picture of Mark taken at Donneybrooke in Brainerd Minesota. He is sitting in the car that killed the Can Am....even the all conquering Can Am McLarens could not keep up with the "Penske Panzer Porsche 917 Twin Turbo". The pundits captioned the picture...."What is he thinking up now".

PS: it is a GREAT book....enjoy it and Mark.

It is possible I do it sometimes

How do you do that? đź’ˇ
You need a OTG , pendrive and an android phone with explore installed
Copy the replay to pendrive connect the OTG to the phone go to explore zip the replay and send it to fetchbot

Alright thx Iceman! đź‘Ť:)

I took advantage of the sales going on and ordered myself a G27 yesterday. Nothing wrong with my DFGT but I felt like an upgrade. Should arrive as a timely birthday present :D
The pedals are a huge upgrade.

@Gravitron has my old G25 pedals and uses them with his DFGT wheel, so that's also an option, if you decide you still like the steering wheel part of your DFGT better.

Remember the London 22B event? I thought I'd put one of those saved replays to use and try to beat my own lap with a Toronado, or more precisely to see what sort of specs I need to pull it off. Had the car otherwise stock and then oil change - that was already there - and min. weight (still almost 1500 kg). Tried with mostly SH for a while but I can't drive like that. Needs serious rotational aptitude for the last sector. Sports medium (like on the time trial) was after all that not so difficult, so stopped after barely beating the ghost.

As you guys know I am constantly surfing for racing pix from races I have attended.....or wanted to :P. Well during the 60s there was a grassroots movement amoung us race fans...DAN GURNEY FOR PRESIDENT. He also had a supporters club for 25 bucks and you got a print, decals, and an AAR Eagle Jacket.....still have 'em. So it was like I had died and went to heaven when I found allamericanracers.com, Dan's Company web page. Here is a print I have never seen.....makes a great desktop.

Gurney definitely deserved his status as one of, if not, the best American driver of his era.

He had an amazing Win/Podium record and went onto design and build his own racing cars and a version of the ultimate low-rider

I have no idea why it took me so long to register premium account. I guess it's not being advertised much and I had to dig the info up in the FAQ section. I mainly did it to support this awesome site but getting rid off the ads is great bonus.

Such speedy
So good deed
Many no ads
Wow
