My PS3 has YLOD'ed on me again so I'm probably out of the game again for a while, hopefully shorter that the previous break.
So sorry to be missing you guys again ... see you all soon 👍

EDIT the repair company is chapter 11 so no guarantee on the repair.
Ordered a new one this afternoon because I can't stand not being behind the wheel :)

If you like flying machines I have found a place for your daily fix. Right here in GTP there is a thread called The General Airplane Thread ( https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/the-general-airplane-thread.284049/ ). It is populated by European Plane spotters, pilots, aviation buffs, and general great picture takers of anything flying. I realized this is WAY OFF TOPIC but racers and flyers occupy the same ecological niche. Enjoy.

This was taken from a hill side in Wales at a place called Mach Loop on one of the military oil burner ( low level) routes. The opinion of the GIB ( guy in back) of his Nosegunner is universally held as true.

Did you try to repear by youself? It took me 2 hours and mys PS3 was alive again.

You can find video on Youtube. You need to open PS3, use industrial fan heater (I'm not sure how its call in english), heat some details and use new thermal paste. Its worked for me. I sold this PS3 cheap in working condition month later and bought new one with bigger HDD.

Would it be possible to connect the old harddisk to a working new console in order to rescue the gamesave?

No. As soon as you take out the HDD ,all the data is vanished and when you insert it in other ps3 it will ask you to flash the firmware formatting the HDD.

Look up the temporary fixes (one uses a hairdryer ) and transfer everything you can to a USB stick. Prioritise though, because even if it does switch back on it may die very quickly.

Thanks guys. I took the machine apart in order to recover the game disk and set aside the HDD, but apparently it's useless now. O well, tbh I don't really mind to start the game all over again. That 57% didn't cost me too much time and I had a lot of fun reaching it :) It does mean less WRS uptime in the coming weeks tho :(

UPDATE my new slim console has arrived and is currently grinding to V1.15. Driver license duty coming up jeej :)

Arcade mode* doesn't add "favorite car" distance any more. So you can have one and the same car with different mileage on stats and the dash (which you can view in Garage or GT Auto). Must have been one of the "sort by mileage" changes.

When you do the Settings window "save" in any of the three game modes. Relevant upto 1.15 at least.

Inaccurate! The statistics are updated outside of Arcade mode, so actually the distance for the car will be back in when you use it again (say, a career race or free run).

Since all of you are not on the Career Mode Thread I though I'd post what BART/PASM sent me (after I demanded one). Having the PASM behind one (for position, not being lapped!) is like being a "Grape" in Air to Air Combat (free for the plucking ). The minute I faltered he was past me like a striking Cobra!!
I shall wear this virtually with pride...and a big smile.

He forgot to add (once) under his tag....and yes it was Parity Racing....BUT....:P

A GRAPE is a slow non-maneuvering rookie target...like Maverick and Goose in Top Gun. When Goose, Mavericks GIB (guy in back) replied to Mavericks question "Where did He go" with "Where did Who Go" thus underlining the fact that he had absolutely no idea where the opposing aircraft ( Viper) was.

Where did PASM go...
Where did who go....:nervous:

Unabashed Triple Post...
Going to St. Pete for the Indy Cars to stay on a Yacht (large hole in water into which my friend pours water. ...ooops...money :D) and watch a full card of racing. Here is the new Andretti Honda aero package.....ummm looks like a kids version of a race car and below it is Andy Lally's take on it all.

I drove the new seasonal with the Alpine racer yesterday. I drove it ALL day. The car is great and it's so lovely that Midfield has returned to the game.
That said, I'm still .1 of a second behind the gold goal of 1'07. Such a shame, now I have to drive even more laps :)

EDIT I'm trying to find the GTP page for premium membership but can't seem to find it. Linkage please anyone? Grazie.

The Midfield event is easily the most challenging of the three*. But the gold time for that is 67 seconds.

VGT Rome, VGT Mid-Field, VGT Fuji Speedway

Check out the replay in exterior cam: The car has some very fancy looking aerobrakes, Much like a plane would...and an interior!!! From the cockpit it looks a lot like Speed Racer's Mark V :D

It's somewhere on your own profile page. I can't see it myself since I became a mod.

Anyway, here's to 2,500 posts, about the same number of likes, 8000 views and 100 subscribers on YouTube

A quick peek under the hood tells me that you should not rev the engine much past 6000 rpm. :sly:
Also about those slow corners , slow in fast out.
