A while ago I was invited to Argentina's only official Ferrari garage, but I never had the time to go there. Yesterday I was finally able to go. The owner was very willing to talk anything Ferrari, and I spent almost an hour talking about the ignition process of the 308 GTS, and why it drove untrained mechanics mad. He travels to Maranello for tech updates every year. I was told I can come back for a cup of coffee whenever I wished, so I'm probably going to return to the workshop for some more Ferrari classes! One of my best friends and I were looking at the cars and the guy shouts out from his office...
-Well boys, which are you going to buy?-
Let's just say we all broke into laughter. Some Pictures. Sorry about the quality but the place was actually closing down for the day and I didn't dare ask them to turn on the lights.

:bowdown: Javier!! Must have been fun 👍

@PASM Doesn't this place looks strangely familiar to you too :P I think we'll have to do that roadtrip over again and include the drive from nurb to spa :P

Not sure if this is the right thread(the title says need help-yep thats me ) ,but I could do with a bit (more) help concerning viewing TT replays.
I'd like to check out the faster drivers laps to see if I can pick up any pointers,so i've been trying to get the replays from here on GTP to my PS3,but every time I try to view them on the PS3 the files are corrupted.
This is the process i've using...
Go to leaderboard, click on drivers name, then click on the little icon on the right to download replay.Next go to downloaded file and right click-extract all to unzip the folder, then drag'n'drop onto my usb stick(which is new-I bought it specifically for these TTs).Plug it into PS3 and go to saved data utility-USB storage to check its there, but only get a corrupted symbol(icon with a little jagged diagonal line) instead of GT Replay icon, and nothing when I try to view it in the gallery in game.
Any ideas what i'm doing wrong, and how to do it properly ?
cheers...

Does it work the otherway around? If not try to format the USB to a FAT32 filesystem. If that's not the case let me know

Have you made a backup of any game save on the stick? Any replays should be in the same place as the backups. In other words, the PS3/SAVEDATA directory. This location should ideally only have directories in it.

I don't know what the XMB does in various error situations, but it's not super complex.

Yes it worked the other way,and when I dragged and dropped I put it in the PS3/SAVEDATA directory where my Motegi replay is located.
This 👍 + the unzipped folder has to have the original BCJS37016-RPLY036 name format

Just off to check,be back in a minute...

That could be the problem-the unzipped file has been renamed-any idea how to get it in the original BCJS37016-RPLY036 name format ?
Just tried double clicking on the renamed file and the BCJS37016-RPLY036 name format just opened-off to try it now...

BTW, that was not the first time that happened to me in sim racing. The first instance was in a game called Live for Speed. It happened in the final corner of a race when I was in the lead:

Whahahhah

I guess this is a better thread.

@Thematic
So,if i've got this right-I have to open the settings before I leave the event for the game to record my mileage ?
Another strange thing was my PP didn't drop, even though I drove well in excess of 200 miles-I thought this was as the game didn't consider Arcade mode as being part of the overall game,if you see what I mean.
Yes. Not sure if you need to manually save after the exit, too. I mean I didn't see an autosave the last time. And even doing this the car will not need more maintenance.
edit: it autosaves...

Oh dear,he's got another question about track limits  A little on this clarification would be most appreciated...
In the Race Specifics it states...

Tarmac and rumble strips are track. No other surfaces are track.

My question is,if I keep at least two tyres on track and if one or both of my other two go over the edge of the rumble strip, just enough to kick up some dust(as i've see in a few replays),is it considered legal(for example in F1 qualifying) or is it exceeding track limits and the lap becomes invalid ?

Apricot Hill Raceway.jpg

@pogledrip that picture is a mile away from dirty, rumble strips are track and you have to have two tyres in contact with the track, so from drivers pov, your left tyres can be completely on the rumbles and your right hand side can be completely in the dirt. Hope that clarifys it... get abusing them curbs 👍.

Not sure I fully understand what you are asking.

The lap in the picture you posted is "clean" and would remain that way until one of the remaining two tires is no longer touching the "track/ rumble strips".

Hope that helps.

Take this example from Le Mans:

CircuitdelaSarthe2009NoChicanes_17.jpg

CLEAN

CircuitdelaSarthe2009NoChicanes_18.jpg

DIRTY

Now imagine that it doesnt matter if there is green astroturf, painted tarmac, grass, sand, etc on the inside of the kerbstones. Edit: Running more than 2 wheels on such surfaces will always be considered dirty, unless specified in the first post of the TT.
