Done with the Racer_LP setup and TC set to 1

Do you like it? You've surtainly been able to improve your time quite a lot 👍
I'm sure on of the pro tuners will come up with a better one soon though:dopey:

Well ... yes & no, it doesn't feel any faster or slower, but I was able impoving my time by a full second because of the your tune.👍

Gave this a try this morning. Unfortunately I've but 3 days for this one. I'll be gone Friday through late Monday so will have to submit very early Friday a.m.

t1- 59.326

t2 - 1'47.164

Interesting car to drive eh?:scared:

I'm always checking to see how far down the board I've dropped, gonna be slipping backwards pretty quick this week. If I was driving a real car like this I'd swear it was trying to kill me... TCS set to on! :ouch:

Darren.

I do the same. I also check to see how close I am to the next quickest time and see if I can beat that. Usually by the time I can beat the next quickest time it has gotten even quicker.

It's lift throttle oversteer that always gets me, at least I haven't gotten any of that in this car. I just need to be careful exiting the corners and get a little more confidence in the car and not brake so much for Degner and 130r.

First cut:

T1: 58.229
T2: 1'44.783

TCS set at 2, self tuned, but I still need to avoid full throttle at the usual spots.

Chipping away, :)

T1, 0'58.051
T2, 1'44.646

Using Racer_LP's tune, with more weight, 92 I think, and steering angle @ 45.

👍

I took a swing at this one with Racer_LP's setup, and o boy, things ain't easy. :dopey:

T1: 59.516
T2: 1'47.224

EDK
Ditto. ;)

My first ones as well, spent some time trying to tune it, but I can't get the back to stick in too many spots that should by all rights be flat out.

59.435
1:47.224

Sure I'll still be able to pick up some time, one way or the other.

I've yet to run a second session and alter my setup, although it was close to his in theory, just lacked the fine tuning on the camber and toe.

But wow, our T2's are pretty close.

Hyper, use Racer_LP set up as it is... I did... awesome set up

I found the extra weight help's a lot in the corners, doesnt hurt in the straight's either. I have just been testing the DC Clio and I am pretty sure I can beat my lap, although Racer_LP's tune is very good. 👍

Still struggling with set ups, will give LP Racers a try in a bit, seems everyone like it so far.

Got to upload last weeks replay first.

Darren.

Got another run in tonight. Had my gearing set already, but borrowed a little from Racer_LP's suspension setup. I found reducing the front toe and increasing the front camber helped stabilize the car for me and my driving style. Still not entirely comfortable, I might try adding the weight next.

Anyhow, I came up with these -

59.022
1:46.036

Also updated the BOARD through my post. 👍

Only a relatively small improvement in T1 & T2, but this lap had a much better T3... giving a total time almost a second quicker than previous best.

T1 57.979
T2 1'44.274

Still using Racer_LP's settings with TC at 1... my feeling is that time improvements are much more likely to come from better lines and throttle control than setting changes.

Boy, talk about motivation to get the wheel situation squared away.

Tried to run a few last night, and the sticks proved to be a bit too unrefined to manage the delicate inputs needed to keep this slick little machine in line.

I got to put in almost an hour last night and my times were worse. I couldn't do better than 1'01 at t1 and 1'50 at t2. I don't know what I did, maybe I was just 'off' last night.

Good to see some of you use and like my setup and I could help you guys with it, but maybe that's just because it's the only one that has been posted so far (apart from the DC tune for the 750pp clio).

But, I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm sure the pro tuners will come up with a better one.
No improvement from me, haven't tried anymore.

.

First thanks for posting the set up :)

Your time is very fast so your set up must be good.

But you are also an exceptional fast racer so perhaps with an other tune you could be more faster.

I think the most racers just think as me,my time is not so fast so my set up can't be good.
So why post it?

It happend also abit last week with Stotty's set up,which was good btw:tup:

I just have no answer if this situation is good or bad.

Personally, I think once you have a reasonable set up it's more effective to concentrate on improving your lines than fiddling about with the settings, especially in something like the Clio. There's no miracle combination of spring - damper - camber - toe set up that's suddenly going to make it easy to drive! By just running different lines last night, I found a line through 200r that allowed me to be flat in 4th except for a brief feather... settings unaltered I cut 0.3 in one corner :)

BTW, wouldn't fancy this combo with the pad!

I agree completely. Most WRS combos on GT4 were arcade mode, so the only setup you could fiddle with was gearing.

I just tried to find something that made the car less twitchy and then started running laps. Small adjustments here or there after that to see if I could find a difference.

After a while, it really just comes down to running laps to get comfortable with the combo and turn in your best time. Sort of like the qualifier in the F430.

New ones for me tonight -

58.745
1:45.688

BOARD Updated.

Will be away until Saturday, see you guys then. 👍

Quick n dirty tune,
T1 0'58.186
T2 1'44.843

I feel outstandingly sheepish - after 30 minutes spent trying to squeeze speed out of the car and wondering why the Clio capped at 593PP, it occurred to me that I didn't actually own a tuned Clio. A quick garage trip confirmed I was an idiot. A return from the dealer, and my lap times improved drastically. Durr.

I'm not sure how much I can improve my tune, dirty as it is. I've really got to work on my lines, as I'm losing massive time through spoon and 130R.

Agreed, and I don't have a wheel  still struggling for a first clean lap :grumpy: I surely hope not all combo's will be this difficult or WRS might loose many controller and/or lower division players ... :ouch:

I tried again for more than an hour yesterday and continued struggeling. Until a little voice told me to "Get rid of the rear camber!". So I reduced the rear camber (which was based on Racer_LP's setup) and immediately got a better drive (but not yet clean, because I kept making mistakes in the last sector). I'll give it a try again later today. :)

We're gone til next Tuesday. time submitted (not a good one) Good luck to all and we'll see you next week!!
