I agree completely. Most WRS combos on GT4 were arcade mode, so the only setup you could fiddle with was gearing.

I just tried to find something that made the car less twitchy and then started running laps. Small adjustments here or there after that to see if I could find a difference.

After a while, it really just comes down to running laps to get comfortable with the combo and turn in your best time. Sort of like the qualifier in the F430.

New ones for me tonight -

58.745
1:45.688

BOARD Updated.

Will be away until Saturday, see you guys then. 👍

Please update the Board.
I'm on Div 4
Tks

New splits:

58.881
1'45.554

Using Racer_LP's set up. :sly:
Keeping High gears and early shifts.

Slight improvement:
T1: 58.962
T2: 1'46.605

I think the most racers just think as me,my time is not so fast so my set up can't be good.
So why post it?
That would depend on your definition of 'good tune'. For me, being a lower division racer, a good tune is one that doesn't stab me in the back if I make a mistake. I know I'm not going to be as fast as the division 2 or 3 racers, but I know my tune improves my laptimes. But is it actually faster than another tune? I suspect a lot of it is psychology: if you feel more confident driving a tune, your laptimes will improve, regardless of whether it's actually faster than another tune. A faster, more twitchy tune would kill my laptimes, while it may be faster when being driven by a top driver.

Anyway, I also created a Clio setup. Enjoy. 👍

Driving this combo has shattered any confidence I once had @ Dunlop, too scared to pin the throttle early in the F430 now, and also the M3 last night, the Tuned Clio @ 650pp has scared me for life. :)

Scratched a little off

0'58'461
1'45'390

Will i break the '57 mark at the 1st split. Doubt it but try try try

New splits:

T1: 0'58.130
T2: 1'44.900

Didn't finish all that well, probably another half a second out there for me to chase 👍

Horrible horrible, there is nothin more that can be said about this car, nothing you do to the tuning helps, it just has no grip at all. Yeah sure im in the 1'44's t2's but it not fun at all and just about every lap i just let the thing drive off into a wall where it belongs.

rant over lol.... no no wait i can go on for hours about this car, someone stop me plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Splits:

T1: 57.795
T2: 1'44.300

I wish Suzuka had a cliff so I could drive off of it in a flaming ball of Clio suck.

Wanted so desperately to run some clean laps and get onto the board, even if (as commonly) at the bottom of the list :) so I set the steering assist to medium, ASM on and TCS at 5. So now I can stay between the lines and finish in the white instead of red ...

1'01.338
1'49.874

This car is just not made to run on Sports tyres :yuck: but anyway

2nd sit down and w/o ever having any real great laps I managed
T1 59.988
T2 1:47.825

Improved on the next lap but I believe it was dirty on the chicane

T1 1"04.xxx
T2 1"54.xxx

This is fun!

Seriously though, easier to get used to the car after more laps, had a much better lap next time around, but out-braked myself.

T1:1'00.012
T2:1'47.928

....there is definitely more in there.....but I'm over trying to string together a great 1/2 lap without doing something silly!

I'm new to this so I'm not sure where I should put these splits for the leader board? (and for that I'm using a Sixaxis...)

Thanks for the great work on here!

New splits, have managed a better T1, but keeping it on the track after that is another thing. :)

T1, 0'57.922
T2, 1'44.393

👍

I have managed to kick Dan off the PS3 and am now having a go at this combo, dont worry, I will not be a threat to anyone, well maybe just myself. :)

This really is a toughie... after ignoring my own advice and fiddling with the settings, I went back to Racer_LP's original set up and found 2/10ths in T1, a 1/10th in T2 and another 1/10th in T3... thanks for posting the settings Racer_LP - they really are solid.

T1 57.759
T2 1'43.974

I think that's me done for this one, time to try and improve my IFTC time for race 2.

This car definitely needs a wheel to control it properly. Got no room to set a wheel up at the moment, anyway, I've done some trial and error...

First cut the turning cycle (or whatever they call it) from 40 to 30, works quite well up until the hairpin, lose about 1.5 seconds there. Got to do some more practicing tonight, then may have some time on deadline night.

I find it intriguing how people either have TC off/low or high, nothing in between.

I think the reason is that people either have it set high enough to be able to lean on it all the time (8 seems to be the necessary level for the clio), or low enough to just contain the wheelspin in a straight line (1 is enough for this). Inbetween setting do neither one thing or the other.

This is actually a car I'd like a DFGT wheel with adjustable TC for... I only really want TC for the exit of the hairpin and so I can ride the inside kerb on the exit of casio..

If this is tough for you (with those splits, wow), just imagin what it means for us Children of a Lesser God. (Sjaak mentioned something about moaning...)

I put in another hour and got a much better T2 (but T1 was a mess):
T1: 59.206
T2: 1'46.103

Is that right mate? Losing a bit there are'nt you.

Dont do what i did in round one and go from division winner to bottom by posting a incorrect time.

Good spot :)

Denur... just as hard for me to achieve those splits as for anyone... unless you're a pad driver, in which case you have my sympathy!

I'm not a pad driver, but just a bad driver, I guess. :dopey:

I'm a stick man, give my some sympathy please. The long corners are so difficult, it's untrue.
