Just had my first stint (25 laps) and I must say you gotta be aggressive and then some haha :D! Will be interesting as after my first splits (Below) I can see time in T1 definitely but will be something of reducing it slowly as I can see time being lost very quickly and very easily!

Definitely can see the .0's in T1, and that's where I'm losing time currently, a little in T2 but I can definitely see that one!

I'm curious what you were doing wrong and how you improved it.

A question for everyone, my main problem is the hairpin, is it best to brake early and go smoothly through or slam it in sideways and drift?

Thanks, I think it's better to stay in the gear for as long as possible and shift just before you'd be bouncing off the limiter whereas before I was shifting quite early. In regards to the hairpin I'm doing what EDK described, brake in a straight line, trail brake to the apex in 2nd gear and then full throttle making sure not to slide or bounce off the rev limiter.
 
My qualifier is waiting to be processed, so as things are now I won't be allowed to submit a lap. I did however try doing a couple of laps to see what I could squeeze out of it. Within 15 minutes I managed to get these splits (My first posted WRS splits, yay!):

Didn't manage to get a consistent line trough turn 2.
 
Improved lap time by 0.3, but lost nearly two tenths in sector1.

The wheel is quite heavy and believe setting drift makes it lighter and easier to turn. I'm also using club sport V2 pedals.

Would also like to see settings for Fanatec wheel users.
 
Since setting grip reduction to real, I've had about 20 attempts all fail in the first sector, most of them in the first double left-hander where the car either cuts onto the inside grass which is now fatal, or skids to the outside losing several tenths. I'm finding it absolutely impossible to run the corner consistently, and it's been driving me insane. :mad:

At the moment I really feel like giving up, but I'm probably just in a bad mood. I probably need to take a break from this combo for a few days.

I am running a CSR wheel and it is not the wheel is too heavy, but since this is my first real experience using a Wheel with a racing game I expect there are better settings then I am using.

I think this will help me out a little on my next stint in a few minutes. I noticed with the 900 I had a hard time shifting up around the hairpin. I will try to set it a little less. Just wondering if by setting the wheel lock to say 640 like you have it, that would effect the accuracy of the turn with the wheel, would it not?
 
Argh. Ruined a 48.9 split on the last turn due to me accidentally changing my view and spinning out. :banghead:
 
Update, I know there is more time to cut away at. Just need to get a perfect lap put together.

Neat that you can tune the rotational amount like that. Definitely on the shopping list when my G27 gives up the ghost...(come on break damn you).

On another note, 11 pages! Really?!?!? I need to get my 🤬 out onto the track!
 
First half hour in (meanwhile the thread is already on page 11!!!) And this is what I came up with. I get the remarks about understeer, but it's only on power that it hinders you a bit. You can easily neutralize the car by lifting slightly, and its very tail happy under braking.

For now i trash it respectfully, but i plan to trash it mercilessly in the next session :lol:
i ended with a really bad t1 in this lap but still managed to beat my time of the day at the end...
look like it will not be an easy week, everyone have a good pace already! :scared:

Some new splits finally. Took multiple red laps and some laps way off the pace i had already set. There is still about .2 in each sector i think but i just can't hook them up.
