I wasn't asking for credit.. I answered a question from oink83,

Have I done something wrong by choosing to add my settings to my times? or did you misread and are trying to crush arrogance that wasn't there?
I'm not trying to crush anything. I was responding to your mention that we do not include settings on our board, that is all.

Ugh, been a frustrating day. Been running laps for an hour or two and I've been at least .4 behind my yesterdays best lap the whole time. It feels like I've totally forgotten how to take that second lefthander properly, it's so annoying!

This newbie might need to learn some new tricks to see more improvement, personal driving lessons anyone? :D

I know the feeling, I was over 0.5 behind my previous best after numerous attempts, went and had a cigarette, came back and beat my best lap by some margin...keep trying and, if you haven't already, check out the S1 video on page 3 posted by doodlemonoply....made me realise I was attacking T1 wrong and my line is now much better, though the rest of the lap is meh...thankfully my S2 is pretty good else I'd be nowhere

Tried this TT today with a ds3 and after some laps (10) i did:

T1:24.755
T2:50.115

Can i ask for the ds3 users what sensitivity they are using? If they can't respond it's okay, i'm just curious.

No problems, but I wasn't asking for settings to be put into the board, I just posted my settings with my splits and was asked why I had done it.

On the other hand though, I do have an interest in what aids people are using..

I've found with the racing tyres and 4x4, abs 0 isn't much different from abs 1, with only 2 heavy braking zones I don't seem to lose too much time, the big struggle for me is the long left hander into the final chicane, from high speed, trail braking tight up to / onto the rumble strip is hard work..

Ugh, hate to miss an Apricott Hil combo. Great splits so far everyone

Cigarette seemed to help a bit, as I drove about 5 pretty good consecutive laps (like .015 - .050 behind my best in all of them) right after I smoked one. Started to see improvement on T2 and 3, but can't seem to get as good T1 as I did yesterday. And yeah I've watched doodlemonoplys vid multiple times, but it's not an easy task to mimic an alien like him!

How long does it take to be added to the WRS registry? and can you please make sure i am marked as a DS3 driver? there seems to be a pretty distinct division in results and i want to make sure i'm herded in with the other bastard children

Wheew. Hard work finally paid off! Updated splits:

24.273
49.573

Still not a perfect lap eventhough I improved a bit on every sector (I think). T1 or T3 will be the hardest one to improve on that lap, on T2 the chicane still wasn't perfect and I'm not entirely sure about the long lefthander either, it's an "easy" corner, but I still feel it's surprisingly easy to lose some time on that one.

Sensitivity 2 ... But i dont make any tests, maybe another sensitivity would fit better

My first posted splits in the WRS, about 1 hour done overall. Really can't see how to make up the time yet, hopefully I will after a few more runs at it. :)

24.460
49.694

Can I ask roughly how long you guys spend on each of the TT events. Trying to gauge if I am spending too long, or not long enough;)
It doesn't matter in the slightest, as I am enjoying myself massively. Some more laps tonight, I think.

It varies from person to person, week to week. The appropriate amount of time is however much you want to put in. I've only been able to put in 20 laps or so to this point and I may be able to get another 20 to 30 more in by the end of the week but others will put in that time each day. You're having fun and I think that's really the only requirement. You may be putting in too much time when the enjoyment is no longer there.

Here's a link to a thread we had for GT5 that showed how much time people were spending:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/time-spent-on-a-normal-wrs-week.234861/

This one will probably be typical for me, 4-8hrs, and about 3hrs so far.

Improved another 0.2 on best lap time thou T1-T2 was marginally slower than my previous best and T3 was my best to date thou it took me over 15 minutes of checking the replay as the last chicane was right on the limit and had to be sure it was clean before I start chasing that ghost for a improvement .

T1 24.190
T2 49.215

Teamsreth - I spent about 30 minutes on it last night, although with this car/track pairing, it seemed like it wasn't that long. I stopped for two reasons: 1) My leg was starting to cramp and 2) I started setting a string of laps a few tenths slower than my best, at that point I felt I hit my peak for the session. I agree with you, this is a lot of fun and I plan to be right back at it tonight.

Slight, very slight improvement.

24.307
49.674

Just seen the above question about time spent. I usually spend on average of about 42-50 hrs per week on each event. I'm not your typical, or normal, example though. I'm a TT crazed maniac.

EDIT: Just calculated, and I have about 20 hours into this one so far. My name is Mitch, and I am a TT addict.

Another 20 laps or so and I made a bigger improvement than I expected. New splits...

24.783
50.716

As far as controller sensitivity goes, when the car gets twitchy I set it to -2. That's what I did this lap with. Usually I use 0.

Well, this is my first TT and I've spent about 4 hours on it so far. It really just depends on your commitments and how much time you want to spend getting those extra hundreths of a second. For me, I'm unable to work at present so could spend all day on it if I wanted but my times wouldn't improve in comparison to the effort so am limiting myself to an hour or two each day

Well I set a new pb lap pb 1st sector and pb 3rd sector but I was slower in the 2nd sector I need to get my 3 best sectors in 1 lap now.

Also what does the sector time mean on the leaderboard I understand the 1st and 2nd sectors I'm just curious to the sector one.

Finally managed to improve my time somehow...got a clean lap in with a sub 25 first sector, went quicker in S1 before but then messed up. No idea how you guys improve consistently , I get worse the more I practice (bar 1 decent lap)..kudos to you all for managing it. Anyway, the new splits, even if I am unhappy with them, are:

S1: 24.950
S2: 50.433

Hey you are doing way better than I am  - i am jumbo in here...

Sector is the result of subtracting Split 1 from Split 2, so it's how long it took you to go through sector 2.

That was the answer I was hoping for. I have spent around 3 hours so far, and will probably double that by the end of the weekend. As I said before, I am not fussed about putting in more time than others, just curious to see. It's my first TT.

Cheers

I agree, but I see all the extra time that I put into these as experience and practice, both of which you can never have enough of. :)
