Finally starting to see more substantial improvements. Still a long way to go, I shall persevere. About half a second at the line.

24.796
50.013

In those two left-handers at the beginning of T1, I try to imitate Chris, but I find it easier to brake a bit later but at 100%, which is slower I suppose. But I will try to refine my approach gradually.

Thanks!! How could I have an almost worn down G27, and not yet know?

I tried it, and it is much more responsive on 670°. I am also cooking the tyres, even more than usual.

My entire top 8 lap times are within the same tenth. So I am tempted to think I have hit my limit.

Problem is, all of them are messed up - but in different ways!

There must be at least 0.2 left if I can just stop screwing up the final chikane or the exit to the long lefthander, or some other random place. Right now there is a kind of wall to break through.

Struggling to string together good sectors. Every lap I do, I have one terrible sector. This lap, they were all ok sectors. Nothing spectacular like James's splits though. I haven't even seen a 23.9 T1 yet, and I'm not sure how it's even possible!

Back at it, got some major improvements since Sunday's session. I don't think the split times shown on the replay are matching the ones I see on the actual race...

replay shows this
24.700
50.400

I can say I have gained 2 tenths at the line now. Even on this run the hairpin is what is holding me back from breaking into the 49.xxx T2. Hopefully I can get this together tonight. If not I have one possibly two sessions left this week to break what I feel will be an accomplishment for week 1.

edit
24.600
50.184

That run put together a great line time, but still not totally as fast as I can be. Getting there... A full day of work has given me a lot of motivation for this :-)

Super happy about improvements tonight! More importantly, I'm learning to see where there's potential.

I am noticing there are a couple of throw away turns, versus turns where the whole lap matters too.

24.605
50.055

looks like that is it for the night. I think with one more session I can get my line time down another half a second.

Yes, and I'm still blowing one of them regularly :irked:

I know that feeling, I can't for the life of me get a consistent line through T1 and 2, so my first sector time is well down...but I make it up in Sector 2 where my time is as quick as those 20+ places above me on the leaderboard :banghead:

Been chasing my fastest lap for a while now without any succes tough. Guess I will leave it as it is. As I already put more effort in this then I normally do. Maybe I will give it another shot just before the deadline. Will start on preparing the online race now...

Good luck to everyone who is still looking to improve. 👍

Was getting 24.1's all evening the the other day, but couldn't get the second sector I wanted, and stopped. Came back today and haven't managed a single .1 yet after 45 mins! Grrr  will have to return tonight and hope the form has returned.

Well went back today, to give the following splits:

T1: 24.700
T2: 49.983

Improved on the second sector, dropped in the first but considerably improved my lap time. Let's see what's in store.

T1:24.398
T2:49.614

I'd say today was a good day :dopey:. Thought I'd long reached my limit when I got around to it on Sunday. Wow, does patience and keeping at it make a difference.

Saw a couple of 49.1 yesterday, so definitly more to come.

Finally got that T1, now i have trouble on the last one:yuck:

I have a query about what is eligible for a valid lap:-

On the front page of GT Planet there is an a link to this event and there is a video showing a demo of the 1st sector.

I watched the video and at 19 seconds the whole of the car is outside the white line of the track, is taking ANY corner like that allowed (so long as the game doesn't invalidate the lap)?

It's just that I've had a few faster laps where I had taken a corner in a very similar manner to that, but I considered them invalid so I dumped the replay.

Just want to be sure when I submit my final lap video it's acceptable :P

At least two wheels on the track at all times. What is accepted as track is tarmac and the rumble strips. So if you're really pushing it, you can have just two wheels on the rumble strip and two on the grass. It would mean coming back over so that at least two wheels are on the track by the time the rumble strip ends.

It states in the OP:
That should answer your query.

Hi all,

This is my first TT since about week 12ish in GT5 if memory serves, got to love life getting in the way. :indiff:

Anyway, spent about an hour and had better T1 and T2 times but nailed T3 on this particular lap so came out better overall.

24.333
49.416

Happy with that to start, would like to find some more through T1, just not sure exactly where... ...will keep pushing on after some sleep, that should help! 💡

Cheers.

Feeling frustrated can't seem to hook my pb sectors together so always leaving 0.2 over a lap

Yeah, that's happened to me a lot.....been struggling with S1, then I improve it considerably...then mess up somewhere else (usually S3). Luckily my S2 times are keeping me reasonably competitive
