I must say, I can't wait to get home and run some more on this event. I forgot how exciting the WAS can be. It has not been since week 3 I believe of GT 3 WAS with the Gillet Vertigo on the Rome course that I have been having so much fun doing a TT

It's funny, I was looking through that week 1 thread when responding to this post.

As I said in my next post, I had no idea you were an original WRSer, or if I did know, I'd forgotten.

Nice to have a couple of the originals in here running with us. 👍

@rambo793 You'll want to repost those faster splits in a new post, Fetchy doesn't handle strike-through splits to add new ones anymore. Once he's seen splits in a post, he won't look at that post anymore.
Hey, thanks for the tip! Pretty much began to realise seeing how my splits haven't been updated yet.

Here fetchy fetchy:

T1:24.398
T2:49.614

First splits using ds3 will need to dig out DFGT and see if I can get first corner a bit smoother.

24.884
50.334

It's good to be back

That brought back some good memories lol. My arch nemesis Idafc, totally forgot about that lol. A lot of good 'ole boys back then.

Did you have the same username back then EDK?

I was not around here until 2007, late in the GT4 WRS days. My first WRS was GT4 week 112.

I've just seen enough of the old guard come and go, along with looking back at some of those old threads, that I'm normally aware when one of the originals shows up.

I suspect Ron ( @Mr P ) is the only one who can say he was around in week 1 GT3, and has participated in every qualifier on every game platform since. @Sjaak and @NielsG were notably present on GT3, albeit later on in the cycle. I'm sure there are others I have missed, but like I said, always cool to see one of the originals around. 👍 :)

As long as I have time to put in I'll be around. It is tough now with my job and snowboarding season here in Connecticut, but I'll do my best. I remember Mr. P, he was always blazing fast.

I can't even consider myself as an OG anymore, I was a SCC register to this site. Made a lot of good relations on GT then I disappeared for a longtime. Came back here and there.

Can't wait to get more times in :-)

Managed to knock more time off, getting pretty close to what I think will probably be my best.

Another small improvement.

NVM. Thought I watched the replay and had the splits. :dunce: At any rate, it looks like I will be doing this 1/100th's at a time.

Yet another horrible start for a day (I can see this becoming a pattern). It seems like I've totally forgotten how to take T1 as I've been running 24.4xx's for a good hour or so and can't see what I'm doing wrong, it's a terrible feeling! But maybe all hope isn't lost since yesterday had a bad start too and it ended up being a good day towards the evening.. maybe I'll go smoke a cig..

E: Also wasn't trying to imply that a 24.4xx for T1 would be "horrible", it just feels annoying to be nearly .2 behind your best and not knowing how to fix it. :banghead:

Maybe I'll sacrifice this evening for some T1 practice.. I'm still at a big loss on how it's possible to go below 24 on that one, but I guess the top guys aren't called aliens for nothing.

I don't have my division yet but here are my first splits

24.428
49.944

Lost some time in s2 en know i can win some in s3.

Maybe .2 or 3 faster at the finisch

Yet another day of miniscule improvements for S1 and 2, slightly slower S1 but one thousandth up (for the second day running!) by S2 but improved my overall lap time so am happy, especially as the previous 25 laps were not even on my personal leaderboard and my best today had been with a 20mph deficit entering T1. Anyway, times are:

S1: 25.032
S2: 50.215

Here I was having fun with this combo, thinking I was fast, apparently I have some work to do after looking at some of these splits. Here's me so far

25.356
51.056

Pro-tip: If you hit Restart and you feel like taking a swig of a refreshing beverage, reach for the cup with your left hand, floor it when it starts you in 3rd gear, bounce off the limiter a couple times, then turn-in and grab 4th gear with your right hand while steering. You can keep it floored for the full run up to the line, and have a couple extra seconds to down more liquid. :dopey: Much more exciting than hitting Pause. If I hit 160mph/256kph at the S/F line, I consider it a good run.

How do I do this with a DS3? Nevermind, I just worked it out....pay someone to sit next to you and lift the refreshing beverage to your lips :P

Pro-tip 2: While you're at it, you might as well drink a nice cold beer :D
