- Nice and smooth. No advice I can give really - you must've been struggling to keep it smooth given the state of your previous wheel and I have no doubt you'll get alot quicker with a G27. 👍

- Some nice tail-happy action in T2. :) Its hard to advise someone in technique with a DS3 since I can't control a car at all without a wheel myself. I just hope your wheel arrives soon mate.

Chuk had two replays on his submitted file; I checked the one that corresponded with his "time" entry posted on page one.

Thank you, Dan!! 👍 I've been trying to figure out what I did wrong. :dunce:

Yes I know I'm not the fastest drvier and I never will be, the body and reaction time now will just not allow it. But I'm glad one or two may have looked at the replay and found points that may help them.

If I remember right this lap was done with brake 7/3, ABS 3. All other aids turned off, but I did run this WRS week 13 without the power supply pluged into the back of the DFGT steering wheel.

This gives me zero FFB, what I hear you say :scared: no help from the ffb to do the counter steering for you, are you mad.

After many years of driving for a living, I dont feel the need to have something to do the counter steer for me, as you've seen from the exit of corners in the video, I'm not saying you should do the same, just that with my hands it's a lot less painfull at time to drive like this.

Hope that has helped some of those questions.

Good luck in week 14. I'll be way down the order on this track combo.

Phillip.

Yeah I ran the rally week @ Toscana with no FFB to spare my G25 the bashing... feels weird at first but instinct soon kicks in. I shouldn't like to do it on tarmac though, Phillip - you show good control there considering. 👍 I also used to drive for a living - Class I HGV for 8 years and a "White Van Man" courier prior to that. :sly:

Thank you Dan! You are a replay verifying machine.👍

Once it's in the blood Chris no shacking it like a bad rash, give it a go, but I found without changing the brake bias and ABS the back end is a little hard to controll with the default settings in arcade TT mode.

Most of the time I use FFB 1 but even that is unnateral, could do with a way of turning it down to a 1/3rd or less, more for a little weight than anything else.

Phillip.

Philip, I just recently received my G27. So far through all the events I have been using the DFGT. I don't know if the G27 I received is weak, but the G27 on ffb 10 is like the DFGT on 3. I was actually a little disappointed in the loss of vibration and feedback.

I think if you are looking for a smoother, less violent experience, I would suggest trying out a G27. But be ready, the brake pedal requires quite a bit more force.

I find the G27 to be much more refined in it's feedback. I used 5 on the G27 and really liked it. The pedals and paddles are so much better that you'll be glad you made the change soon enough.

If you really like the force, invest in a T500RS. I've had to set mine at FFB 2, which is probably like 6 or 7 on the G27. And if we have a race car combo, I'll set it at 1. Which is more like 4 on the G27.

This is all nice feedback, as some know that I have arthritis in my hands and feet, and all this damn rattling get very uncomfortable at times. The Elise 111R was very easy to handle with zero FFB which made it a pleasure to drive, just like a Sunday outing.

But this week is the opposite, so far managed 3 laps and I think thats about it for me on this one.

Thanks Kevin and Redreevos.

Phillip.

Hope I'm not to late. It really sucks not having my computer. I was slow getting my replay up just like my lap time! Anyway here it is (NTCS)

Good smoth lap Dan. The biggest place I saw you lose time was the 2nd turn of T2(left hander). You could have entered a little wider and exited with more speed for the long run to the last turn of T2.

You will start shaving some time off your laps with faster exits to the turns. Some of the turns you were past the apex and still sliding, keeping you from getting on the gas. This can really hurt when there is a long gap to the next series of turns. Think of slow in fast out. Some sliding can occur on entry to the turn, but try and be done with the slide when it is time to get on the throttle.

You were also entering the turns a bit shallow. Try and enter the corners from a wider point, and focus on getting on the gas as close to the apex as you can. Be willing to use the full exit of the turn as well, to maximize exit speed.

This was definitely a tough week. The car was a handful with a lot of lift-off oversteer.

I was hoping to never have to red flag a lap. This is always my fear when I look at a replay. I was especially afraid this week because that second turn of the chicane in T1 isn't flagged properly by the time going red. I unfortunately had to not submit several of my faster times this week when I checked this corner on my replays. I am very sorry to you AX7, I hate to kill a week's worth of effort.

where's the back left wheel?

I hope you are right about this. Is it any two wheels? I am sure the back left is fine at this point.

EDIT - Unfortunately I just pulled up the replay again.. The left rear is fully on the grass as well. The red timer was a false security blanket this week. It sucks, because I am sure AX7 submitted what he thought was a clean lap. There wasn't any other even remotely close spots on his lap. Sorry again AX7.

If 1 wheel is off, means it's dirty, good spot redreevos I remember giving my first red flag :(

Sorry AX7.

So it has to be 2 wheels on the same side of the vehicle, correct?

Yeah it sucks. Gave me a pit in my stomach. I know we are supposed to check, but I wish I hadn't spotted it. I hope to never have to red flag someone again. :ill:

That's what I've understood under '2 wheels on the track at the same time'.
I also went for a slower lap after finding out 1 wheel was on the grass without getting red lapped, it sucks but always double check.

Well if 3 are off at the same time then it's dirty, just wondered from the pic. As far as I know GT5 only flags you for all 4 off the track.

Right, 3 or more wheels off is dirty. And the 2 wheels don't have to be on the same side of the car, but I have a hard time thinking of a scenario in which only the 2 back or the 2 front wheels would be on track.

As far as what it flags you for, that's very inconsistent. For example, the last left hander of T1 at Nurburgring this week red clocks you for what I think is 2 wheels on grass and 2 wheels on the cobbles. Still 2 wheels on hard surface, and completely different from what it does at any other part of the track.

Thank you for the clarification Kevin.

It wouldn't be too hard(I would think) to slide around a tight corner with the front two off and the rear two on. It would be hard though, to have the front right on and the rear left on.

Thanks for checking, Red, and for the tip. I really thought all replays had been checked, including mine. Really been busy this past week.

Gonna go back and run that scenario again to digest your input so I don't forget it! Thanks, again! 👍

EDIT: Any other replays need to be checked, I will check back more often!

You might be able to shave a little more time in T1 if you turn left sooner for the second part of the chicane. If I remember correctly, I think I started turning left as my tires were hitting the rumbles on the first turn..

I don't remember from your video, but I found that the Elise stays a lot more stable with some gas applied.

Other thoughts that I improved through the week. The second turn of T1 (left) you can almost leave the throttle pegged there. First turn of T3, full throttle, the next two rights I am at about 80% throttle, and then full throttle as I exit those rights. Very slight braking for the third to last turn.. and then full throttle to the finish.

EDIT: Any other replays need to be checked, I will check back more often!

I think there is only one PAL replay that was posted one page back... and then I think there is 1 replay that hasn't been submitted.
