GTP_WRS Week 13 : Official Results

You might be able to shave a little more time in T1 if you turn left sooner for the second part of the chicane. If I remember correctly, I think I started turning left as my tires were hitting the rumbles on the first turn..

I don't remember from your video, but I found that the Elise stays a lot more stable with some gas applied.

Other thoughts that I improved through the week. The second turn of T1 (left) you can almost leave the throttle pegged there. First turn of T3, full throttle, the next two rights I am at about 80% throttle, and then full throttle as I exit those rights. Very slight braking for the third to last turn.. and then full throttle to the finish.

Thanks, Red.....posts printed!

Good work, Red!!! 👍

EDK
Right, 3 or more wheels off is dirty. And the 2 wheels don't have to be on the same side of the car, but I have a hard time thinking of a scenario in which only the 2 back or the 2 front wheels would be on track.

As far as what it flags you for, that's very inconsistent. For example, the last left hander of T1 at Nurburgring this week red clocks you for what I think is 2 wheels on grass and 2 wheels on the cobbles. Still 2 wheels on hard surface, and completely different from what it does at any other part of the track.
Well....

Thank you for the clarification Kevin.

It wouldn't be too hard(I would think) to slide around a tight corner with the front two off and the rear two on. It would be hard though, to have the front right on and the rear left on.
Did it - Week 14, was on my 2nd or 3rd fastest lap, in the double right towards the end of T5. That grass ill get cha!

Anyway, didn't need it but since I have internet now I figured I'd throw mine up, maybe somebody will have a tip for me.

EDIT: Red, how are you watching PAL replays?

EDIT: Red, how are you watching PAL replays?

I haven't (wish I could though). That was just a list of what has been checked cumulatively. I only checked 3 of those replays, and they were all NTSC.

I would love to get a PAL ps3 to be able to see some of those alien's laps. I am thankful when someone is nice enough to make a vid of them that I can watch.

GUMI8all's file is using a different name from his GTP account, the lap is clean
do I just give a green flag or how does it work.

As long as you are using a digital signal (HD), you don't need to worry about a different PS3. All you need is a PAL version of the disk, which you should be able to buy from a European online retailer.

Most of us here in the US had PAL disks in the Prologue days, since the online race servers were region locked, and we wanted to be able to race with our friends in Europe.

OK, I'll reupload I PAL. Good for me though, as I posted the replay from the wrong account (GumI8all , not GTP_GumI8all).

Will do it after school.

Can't upload, as I haven't logged on to GTP_GumI8all after PSN went back online, and when I was prompted to change password, it said "This service is currently undergoing maintenance."

By the way, do I have to upload in PAL or NTSC? I'm a little confused...

You are in the PAL region, so your replay will be viewable only by those who are also in the PAL region (or have a PAL copy of the game).

If one of you PAL guys could check Gum's replay, I think we are good for the week. We are still missing GTP_GM's replay, but I assume if it hasn't been posted by now, its not going to be.

Hold on, I'll check

The lap is clean but the replay was driven under the name 'J. Clarkson' (:boggled:), none of the 3 usernames I see on your profile, so don't really know what to do here.

Thanks poolhaas! I think someone stated that before. But Gum posted a new replay that I thought resolved that issue.(but maybe resolving that issue isn't possible.)

I guess it is up to the admins now. All posted replays have been checked, ruling just needs to be made on Gum's replay. Gum, I think there has been some leniency with the PSN issues. Just not sure how long the PSN leniency lasts.

That's what my profile is called. Had to spice things up a bit :P. But that replay was run under GTP_GumI8all.

I've checked the replay, but it's by "J. Clarkson" not by your GTP account.

The rules clearly state:

The event MUST be run using your GTP_Tag Account

So I have to DQ your time mate. Please make sure to use your GTP account next week!

I checked GTP_GumI8all's replay and it's clean and green.

I second that it says J.Clarkson on the replay , but I disagree with it being worthy of a red flag.

I did some research and it is worth of taking into account the PSN outage which was taking taking place before week 13 of GT5_WRS.
The PSN outage ended on monday the 16th , last day of week 13 GT5_WRS.

I can draw a conclusion from reading the week 13 thread that Guml8all ran the submitted lap on the 15th.
He wrote here his splits which match with the submitted lap's splits.

To company this with the rules of week 13 thread:

Race Specifics:

  • The car used for this race is from the "Arcade Only" Section. Do Not use a car from the "Favorites" Section.
  • The event MUST be run using your GTP_Tag Account
  • The use of the clutch that is found on the G25, G27, and other high end racing wheels is strictly prohibited.
  • No Contact with walls or other objects (Including Cones and Invisible Walls). Any contact with objects, no matter how minor, will result in a DQ.
  • Tarmac and Blue and White Rumble Strips are Track
  • No other Surfaces are Track.

There is no guidance to changing your PS3 user name for sutch a case as the PSN outage.
Even so the use of GTP_Tag Account is required.

Having wrong ID/name on a replay hasn't caused/lead to a dissqualify before in WRS , IIRC.

Why should it now?

We were having a background conversation to the same effect.

I've verified that the name in the replay file reverts to your profile name if you run your lap while signed out of PSN.

For that reason, we'll give the lap a green flag.

For the future reference and understanding of all participants, we expect you to run using your tag. So please don't take this to mean you can run using whatever account you'd like.
