Thanks Chris, great 5th place, specially considering that at the start of the week
you were ready to give up saying that "the secret of how to go fast in a FWD continues to elude me..".
One of this days you´ve got to tell me the secret you found :sly:

Thanks mate. I'm not sure I found it so much as fell over it... FWDs suffer badly from over-driving and my impatience with the front tyres having to do everything was leading to too much wheel-spin on exits. In the end, all I had to do was just calm down and stop being so impatient. :dopey: I ended the week 2 seconds faster than I started. Cool. :P

Great lap Chris, noticed you went down to 2nd gear for last turn, maybe I should of tried that with the 6 speed box I was using. I think I got used to my old 5 speed to much and that could of been the reason I was still using 3rd for that turn.

Nice job 👍

Thanks mate. 👍 Not sure if 2nd made that corner quicker or not but it seemed to help me not run wide on entry... And thanks for the push. :)

Sorry guys for not submitting this week....

Shame you didn't get to compete properly this week Rees - we usually have a good battle. See you on the track next week eh mate? Dust that wheel off. :)

Erm, question: on the right turn heading up the hill to the 2nd tunnel, my rear right wheel went outside the white line @ the crest of the hill near the tree..2 were on the pavement, but does that make it a dirty lap?

I'm operating under the assumption that it's the hard-stuff we're keeping 2 on, not the white lines..

I don't have a picture, because I didn't think it was a problem.

I think many have both right wheels outside the line in that corner :)

Anything tarmac is fair game.

Edit: Oops, sorry for double posting.

Phew!!! Don't want to ruin my chances at D4 gold 👍 More to the point, I don't want to be posting dirty lap times...thanks Cicua!

Video Replay

Gonna have to wait till I get home to upload a proper replay, not allowing me to do it so I'll post the link to the replay in the race thread

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=76004&d=1306810176

A very instructive week in terms of tuning, even though its all backwards, just re-posting, unbelievable insight you showed Plato in your counter intuitive setup creation, and some excellent refinements from other members helped drop the times well below my initial expectations for this combo, cheers!

I have t13r and pyxen's replay's, now if I can just break myself free from Laguna...

Clean, times and tires match.

Division 3:
4---1'19.808---GTP_T13R
gflagjn4.gif

I loved your almost-rear-entry drift-style in the double apex right at the beginning of T2. Maybe not the fastest way, but cool as hell. (Well, as cool as this nose-in-the-air econo-racer can get...) Also great use of all available track surface, especially in that last tunnel section. 👍

Division 4:
5---1'20.824---GTP_pyxen
gflagjn4.gif

Great lap, though it looked a bit ragged. Maybe it was all the gear changes. I think you went down to 2nd more than I was used to seeing, but other than a few darty movements, it got the job done.

I'll get my replay up ASAP, I actually got myself a new job starting tomorrow so I'll have a lot to learn again, but the replay will come sooner or later. Once again I'd like to offer my congrats to Dan, Zoky and all other place getters in their respectable divisions.👍 Thanks again to Dan for the driving tips in sector 2.:)

Did you just green flag your own lap?

I actually got myself a new job (...)

Congrats to both the job and the fine performance in WRS. 👍

It would be interesting to see your actual tune to compare it with the others.

Well done all.

Hope I've done this correctly. Ohh, I'm from U.K, so I'm PAL ?

Thanks.

Awesome job to Dan and Zoky!! and well done Paulie on your 3rd place

I had a very strong last sector it seems as my T2 on that run was a 51.402.
I almost wish I tried to race a little more as it was only 1 more tenth to 4th

Big thanks to Plato for supplying his tune

CSL you just got me this week, well done 👍. Also well done to the D2 boys under 1'19, fine driving for sure!!

Here is my replay

You're welcome.
Super laptimes deserve no less :D

I'll keep it in mind the HUD thing.
The reason I kept it on is so people can see your braking/throttle behaviour.

Many thanks for making a video speedy....like it alot!

Btw. For next time I think it would be better if you removed the hud when recording from bumper cam view IMO!👍

 You are using the same paint as me this week. I was using matte pink with yellow rims. I thought I would be the only one, not only did you use my tune, you had my paint as well :sly:

Great lap Zoky 👍

You can see throttle/braking behaviour better if you remove other unnecesary things around it I think!👍

@Plato....lol, although not the same...mine is Passionate Pink!!:P

Looks like I chose the wrong pink, yours was faster :sly:

Oh, ok. I'm gonna make it my best work next week. And instead of 480p it will be 720p. :)

I cant believe Zoky was so fast with so much smoke!!

I always thought smoother was faster :ouch:

Hi Speedy, not sure if you're just posting videos up or checking, but don't forget to put the green flag up on the replays once checked. You can copy the image from the first post. Great job on the vids BTW 👍

2---1'18.317---GTP_Zoky_CRO r=1.127 (d1/0.010)

As usual, fast and clean. Again it's the little things I can see like being able to maintain 184 on corner one where I could only do 180. Just curious who's tune was your final one, because that car didn't seem to wander anywhere. However I was not a fan of that paint job, you or Plato should never be seen around my car with spray cans

42--1'20.416---GTP_bojangles4 r=3.614 (d3/-0.966)
gflagjn4.gif

Nice clean lap, if anything I think you need to get the confidence to use more of the track, as there were some places you could have run quite a bit wider to gain a bit more speed. I am still trying to master this as well, the balance between using as much of the track as possible and running off it :)
Awesome job none the less considering the company you were in with that time. Well Done 👍

15--1'19.060---GTP_UsualSuspect r=1.981 (d1/-0.448)
gflagjn4.gif

I think you got me with that nice last sector and bit faster exit speeds. I must try to remedy this situation, it's becoming a habit of you being in front of me now. Would like to see you in my mirror for once. Bring it on!! :sly: 👍

13--1'18.952---GTP_Mignun r=1.871 (d1/-0.598)

Super fast lap champ, 1:18's is a awesome time. Not much I can say here but except nice paint job 👍

Here's my PAL replay, just couldn't seem to get on the power without underseering like a pig on this one. I am not endorsing any tobacco products even though my replay indicates otherwise

Dan, I can't thank you enough for the patience you've shown me, and not just for this week. I did go back and read up on replays so that hopefully this will not happen again. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate it!! You ROCK!!!

Not a problem, Chuk. I admit I do have a little self-greed motivation......learning technique by reviewing replays by you and others in the top echelon of the WRS. The expertise you and others contribute in posts are much appreciated as well, but being able see those "tips" in action really enforces the value of the words! 👍

Thanks for checking sid!

I used Plato's suspension, Chuck's gearing and Dan's camber/toe!
