Maybe its just me, but there is something different with the WRS in GT5P?

Jerome

Sure is, I'm missing in action :P

I'm only a 1/4 second behind Dan, which for me is great. Yet, I'm half way down the Luxy leaderboard. Compared to the years I played the GT4 WRS, if I was .2 behind Dan, I'd probably be 2nd place, lol. Either GT5P is a lot easier for everyone to pick up and play, or the competition is tougher...or...? Not sure, what do you guys think?

Jerome

Personally I suck at gt5p, I've not spent the time to learn the physics of it but I think the reason times are closer is that you either run the lap or you wipe out trying, there seems to be less middle ground to me when I play it. Do or die you could say. Also most everyone has been forced to use a wheel.

 to all running the series 👍, I enjoy watching from my lounging chair ;)
Erik

Improved significantly with splits of
23.368
1'00.316

But more importantly had a great final sector, time submitted;)

Board updated with a seemingly steaming race between Dan and Ani 👍 but knowing Dan I guess I probably know who'll be getting the checkered flag again this week :D

I'm hoping my last sector will hold up if a faster T2 is produced by another driver, this combo rules big time;)

Very true Erik, I'm only trying to race here and there to stay 'in practice' for more time with the wheel and for when GT5 releases. This WRS seems to be requiring adjustments on how I see the divisions lined up. But it is great to see such close racing (which makes me think GT5P is easier for people to learn on rather than GT4). I'm hoping to spend a bit more time on this later.

Todays session: I've seen better T1's, better T2's, better T3's, but never a better lap time. Maybe tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after that. Darn, this one is fun and addictive. 👍

Btw, anyone else going to the Dutch Auto RAI on Monday (they do have GT5p pods)?

Just had a quick half hour to tidy up T2... and lost the ability to hit .3 T1's, D'OH!

23.478
1'00,561

Pretty sure I can get a 1'00.3xx with a bit more time.

Wow, I hit a 23.430 earlier, that felt good, though the left after T1 is killing me.

At last a quicker lap time with a quicker T2!!! I've seen a 1'00.760 at T2 but when I got to the line I was slower than my T2 lap of 1'01.205!!! I'm sure T3 is really going to make the difference. I hit about 6 laps back to back all under 1'01.000 and still couldn't beat my lap time with a T2 of 1'01.205. But I've just managed it :)

T1 23.583
T2 1'01.031

Here is what I found works for me:
Try ensuring the two right tires are on the rumbles on the right as you cross T1, shift into 4th, blip the gas and throttle control the car down to about 76 or 78mph or so (the 'studs' probably somehow keep it at 80 through there :P) and I try to put the center of the car over the apex/rumble strips on the left and once the car centers itself punch it and breeze onto the strips on the right.

Jerome

Thanks Jerome, I have nailed it on occasion, but I have no consistency with it.

This is indeed a do or die situation. The line between grip and no grip when steering into a corner with the foot going off the gass is massive thin. Makes for a stressing session time with gt5p. Haven't come across such a rare stressy feeling in a game.:scared:👍

T1: 0'23.524
T2: 1'01.294

edit.

T1: 0'23.558
T2: 1'01.176
the last sector was a good one here.

greets and happy racing out there

I think I'm going to give up this one, just not enjoying it. Looking forward to week 23!

I have the utmost respect for those of you excelling at this combo, it's just a step beyond me to string it all together for a fine lap. Well done guys, really well done 👍

All the best
Maz

Board updated EDIT updated up to post 81.

Maybe next time Marc 👍 have fun there and be sure to visit the Veronica stand where they're giving away a Testarossa.

I take back what I said earlier about not liking the tyre combo, after finding a new way to deal with its tricky handling characteristics, its grown on me.
Managed splits of:
T1: 23.400
T2: 1'00.413

Had a 15 lap session after work with new fastest lap. I'm really enjoying this combo. Only thing is T3 was 0.1 slower than my fastest. Just a few more goes on this I think, as I'm almost at my limit.

T1 23.491
T2 1'00.840

I got a 1'00.518 at T2 once, but a slower final lap time than my best so far (which was done with a 1'00.681 at T2, i.e. a bit slower than posted before). :)

I haven´t got time this weekend, I will start from week 23, thanks for putting me in division and giving me password sjaak:cheers:

Ran some more laps and and reached:
T1 23.659
T2 1'01.391

As many others, I too got a sub 1'01 T2
just to go 1 wheel too wide on the next corner. :grumpy:

First splits for this great combo after 2 good sessions.

23.600
1'01.011

Very addictive combo Sjaak. 👍
Going back for more.

EDIT
Some improvement, including .5 sec at the start/finish line.

23.575
1'00.827

I've done plenty of 23.4s, and I think I saw a 23.3 at one point, but subsequently screwed up left after T1. Knocked off .5 of a second in T3, which was where all my pain was. I'd hope to knock it down to a low .8 at T2.

MadMax

Anyone else been penalised for taking that same corner with the 2 right side wheels on the rumble strip?
They don't penalise for taking it slightly inside with 4 wheels off though......?
Funny :dopey:

Amazing times from all the divisions, I fianally have some splits:
23.559
1:00.670

Not my best T1 or T2, and the last sector didn't feel right but must have been. Knife edge balance between understeer and oversteer with this setup, and with all the camber changes each turn seems to require a different technique. Great fun!
