I can, but its like a 25/75 shot for me in getting the line just perfect in order to pull it off. (I use the curb to help get the car to turn, very risky and you have to be very precise) I have tried all three ways: Full throttle, full throttle with a dab on the brakes, and just slightly letting off the gas. Personally and from what my figures show and the data logger, the second and third way are the best, with the second way being a tad bit better most of the time. I really don't think going through there full throttle is beneficial at all as you scrub off too much speed from what I've seen.
Speaking of the full throttle/dab the brakes method, I have been trying to adapt to that style for the corners that were listed in this thread by someone. I must say, if you get it right, its almost like your cheating because it seems to give you such a big advantage. I really don't like driving that way because it just seems so unrealistic and so far away from my style, but hey, whatever it takes to get a good time. In one session, I was totally behind my ghost by around .250 going into that last high speed turn and totally nailed that corner using the full throttle/dab the brakes method and ended up improving by .200. That's over a .400 improvement in that corner alone.
No improvement on any of my splits, just the .200 gain at the line.....crazy stuff. I'm really interested in if @
mcsqueegy is using this method for the high speed corners.
EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not saying that anyone who is using that method is cheating, I just mean that it "feels" like you are because of the advantage that it gives you in time if you can get it just right. Just thought I'd better make myself clear before someone yet again takes my post out of context.
