Wow, this puts me ahead of all of D4 (for now), imagine! It's a first, I believe... Lost some in the last sector, though, 0.16s at the line.

More and more often, I can take the hump flat out, but still not a majority of the time...

So this morning I nailed a lap that I thought was perfect, submitted it to Fetchy only to discover I'd been running with a stage 3 engine upgrade instead of a supercharger...aaaaargh!!!

So after fixing my stupid error and losing about 7hp in the process, I actually found the car a bit easier to get around the course and instantly hit some decent consecutive laps...however, I couldn't nail the perfect one:

Definitely happy with the first two sectors but I did lose about 0.1-0.2 in the final sector. My hands are aching now and I don't have the stamina to hunt down those last two tenths so I've submitted this one (and had it confirmed correct by fetchy :dunce:)

I have to say, this particular combo has been really fun, working out how to set up each corner was a hoot!

After my better time with the line on the other day I had a go without it and beat it again. I watched the replay and I hit every apex. Now all I've got to do is learn how to go faster on the proper line. If I try to go faster I'm missing the apex again. This combo is great as I'm really learning how to drive the car instead of bullying it around. If it's not the speed that makes you fast it must be the braking and accelerating points that make a difference.

Lost a bit in T3 versus my ghost but held him off at the line.
Thanks buddy. :) After making sandcastles with no ocean in sight for two hours, I saw your splits pop up and immediately smashed my previous best by 0.4. 👍
Felt like a loooot of coasting in the final turn though, so I could be off there.

Thing is it didn't feel any faster than any other completed laps I'd done. It really is a matter of keeping it smooth and pointed in the right direction.
A little partial throttle in the turns helps a lot too. 👍

Glad it's not on SH tires, Chris! :dopey:

Just calculated run 66 laps since my last posting and finally manged to make (and keep) improvements in all 3 sectors.

Session 3 gave me 0.350 at T2, which looks good on the board. :D
But that lead was reduced to only 0.027 at the line. :ouch:

25.076
54.026

Above submitted and accepted. Had 2 more 20 minute sessions, but they didn't give any improvements.

These days I usually stop after session 2 or 3 when I hit that first point of diminishing returns. But with these new tracks I see every lap as money in the bank, improvement or not. It'll hopefully pay off next time we hit Big Willow. :dopey:

Good luck to everyone. See you on the next one. :)

Practice in the FR-S/BRZ Courtesy Car, on C3 Tires, at a track you know. Might also be a good idea to buy an Autozam (Mazda) AZ-1. Low Powered MR that will help you learn the art of catching the car.

3rd alternative is to practice this with the power turned way down, maybe to 50%, with the SC off the car. Ease into the combo, keep upping the power, eventually add the SC. Just don't post any splits until you are using a car that meets the event regs.

Bit late, but thanks for the tips. Been away learning the art of wheel driving and made some progress where I think I am at parity to using a ds3. Still not as consistent, but getting quicker. Thanks
