Really loving this car on this track, great combo 👍

Hoping I can find much more time with some further experimentation.

Inbetween practise at Silverstone, took a break on Willow and found massive improvement... still more to be found as I left some time in the last corner, but nevertheless I gained 0.5 sec on the line.

Like @WRP001 said before, learn the track, make sure you know where you can put youre foot down and where not.... try to drive arround calm and then speed up, and try to beat youre ghost. Do not restart everytime you go off, try to do multiple laps in a row.... I suggest you use the driving line but do not take notice of the brake marks (red line) once you have cleared the second sector.

You will not find speed in one or two weeks, it needs a lot of practise. In GT5 I was in the same position where you are now (started division 5) Looking at replays from faster drivers, learning tracks and driving lines improved my skills.

Then again you should not put your aims to high, a negative handicap every week is what you should aim for, eventually you will improve !

Good luck Nemo.... and if you want help, just ask for it, this community will help you for sure ;)

Thank you!👍
Question: What is a negative handicap? (no, I really do not know) How do I know when I have one?

In last weeks results you will be able to find this :

110--1'29.186---NemoNiente r=4.690 (d4/0.137)

the last part (d4/0.137) means you have a positive handicap compared to the qualifier you did to register.

If this would be negative, that would mean you did better then an average Division 4 silver result.... so last week you were close, if you would have had a time that was only slightly better you would have had a negative handicap.

>> Division 4: Par: 1'27.620 Gold: 1'27.620 Silver: 1'28.992 Bronze: 1'31.736

take a look at the above and you can see that if you would have had a time better then 1'28.992, wich is only 0.2 quicker than youre time, then it would have resulted in a negative handicap....

this is the most fun i had since gt6 came out.. how come pd cant come up with good combinations like this?
anyway

25.517
54.383

one weird thing i noticed thou , in garage the distance driven with the car says 0.0KM but i must have done +10laps..
anyone else having this ?!
The WRS staff does a lot of testing to get these combos, and unlike PD, they don't have to worry about squashing bugs.

As for the distance driven, once you leave arcade mode, that, oil usage, chassis wear, and damage all get reset to what it was when you first entered arcade mode.

Bolded is not always true, see below.

A note to everyone about Arcade Mode mileage.

To make it count enter into the Settings menu everytime you start a session. So when you change grip to real, check your aids also just look in your settings. Do this at least once in every session and your mileage will count.

I raced in several online races today with Tire Wear Off and mileage was added to my cars every time. I think GT5 was like that at different stages, but it doesn't seem to be happening in GT6 at the moment. Maybe something was changed in the patches since 1.03 or 1.04? I also avoided going into the Car Settings after the races: there is a glitch in Arcade Mode where the mileage is added to your car if you enter Car Settings after you get back into the race menu after driving; i.e. if you avoid going into the Car Settings menu the mileage will not be added to your car.

THANK YOU!!! 👍

Sorry to hear about your DQ at Rome.

Brilliant advice usually works for me. 20 lap or more sessions (even when it's desperately slow to came back to the track at willow) is where is at...

Finally got the credits to buy the car! I got about 15 clean laps in and if I pasted all my best splits together I'd be on to something ;) Instead though I'm struggling to find any consistency. My fastest lap so far has a bad t1, good t2 and average t3 :ouch:

Simething tells me I won't be within a second of first place this time around

My first laps. I didn't know this car. It's awesome 👍

25.338

Edit: I saw partial results and realised that on my first ride I wasn't going with supercharger.

thanks 👍 :(
no, it's no fun being DQ in my first official WRS TT, but **** happens. I'll just have to avenge myself in Willow Springs  :ouch:

...Question is though - how much car is allowed in the sand? :D
That's why if I have to pull out the camera on my own lap (the actual camera, not just the walkaround), I toss it and try again, even if it was good.

@iainoflo85, figures the manual would be wrong.

Edit - 2 tires must be inside of the inside of the white lines, or where there are rumble strips, on the rumble strips. See the OP for pics of what is and is not clean.

Hey, general question:
Do you practice with a visible ghost car or not? I usually turn it off because I feel that it distracts me, but I believe that most of you keep it visible. Do I better learn the points where to find speed when not shutting my ghost off? (I do allways look at the mini map to find out whether I'm in front of my ghost or not, what distcrats me too :boggled: )

Any advise is very welcome!

Edit - I'm driving in bumper view, if that makes any difference

I always turn off the actual ghost. It's way too distracting, I can't see the corner/brake point/apex sometimes with a still quite opaque car in front.

I let it on. It distracts me too!
So I try to keep ahead of it.

If I'm always let that "annoying" ghost behind, means I being faster!

The ghost 'car' is a real pain, but one of my favourite features in GT6is the ghost 'line'. It makes chasing the ghost meaningful and useful, without blocking my view :odd:

It's not obvious to set, it is done from the quick menu while driving, set ghost type to line :)

I turn it on and off during the lap (programmed a button for it) as the red and yellow arrows overlap a lot when I'm only a tenth or two off the ghost.

Oh wow I didn't know this was possible. Sweet, thank you!

Much better with supercharger installed. But S2 is being hard for me since that GIANT mirror view gets about 98% of my screen :yuck:

Edit: Too good to be true! Was on SS. Its good to learn the term "read carefully".

I just had the most peculiar experience.
I removed the SC and then came very close to beat my own best lap :boggled:.
Then I had an idea, to upgrade the car, drive a lap or two in a faster car then remove the upgrades and see if I can beat those faster laps.
Question: Will installing and removing upgrades prior to racing another submittable lap be considered illegal
