Here's my replay! Beware the smoke!

I have the last 4 NTSC and yours to check when I can.

I see that GTP_darkstar74 and ChaddingtonB (GTP_lwh) have been checked.
It may be tonight but I can't say for sure.

N/P. Go ahead and mark Crg2112 and Brinkley off your list. I'll try and back up two prior replays to those and get the others if you don't before I do! :)

And thanks!

Well done, gentlemen!!!

Here's my first upload. Hopefully it's done ok
I'm a bit worried about the corner before the tunnel, i can't hear anything but i can't see it on the replay either

Yeah you made an awful lot of smoke to hide it :D seriously, I can only see close, but not that close :)

too clean if you ask me. lol seemed like anytime I pushed it the wall would reach out and hit me... I'll be faster before too long though now that I'm manually shifting.... what a difference.. thanks for verifying!

I think my replay might have got lost in the sea of posts, post #44 (PAL Replay).
As usual appreciate any comments on what I could have done to improve my times. Criticism Welcome :)

Hey 2smokes, downloading some of the replays and actually trying to chase the ghost will help improve dramatically. Plato is right in saying watching the replay will help, but chasing it allows you from in the car to see where the lines are different. It also helps identify where you are on par, and where you are loosing time. I've already made some improvements chasing josh, osrg and plato in this one. And Vagabond gave me some great tips for the previous one at grand valley.

As for week 7, I'm really struggling with that as well :sly:

But most importantly, Have FUN! It's what WRS is all about 👍

I would spend the time watching your replay but am really struggling on how to save the replay to my usb and send it to the ps3. Tried a few times now and it will let me do mine but not others for some reason.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong then I will watch it 👍

Good line... try being a bit more aggressive with the car, tighten up your apexes and concentrate on using all of the track thats available to maximize your cornering speed and you will start seeing your times drop significantly. 👍

Plato, is there an error that you're getting from the unzip on the PC, or from the ps3 xmb copy menu? We need more explicit details of what you've tried and what you're seeing or NOT seeing.

Some people's replays are done correctly to the last detail, others need a bit of manual massaging. :) I can relate to the first timer confusion.

Agreed.

Good laps all and DD, you were close near the end of the lap but no touch that I could find.

To each of you in these replays, I echo what sidplayos2 said, go and follow the fast laps and see where and how to get faster.
It really does help lower your times, faster.

Now I need to get A7XMaverick's replay so I can do the same. :sly:

Awesome event! Would play again. Well done all.

Thanks for checking, and for the feedback. Hitting the sweet-spot of the corner is one of many items on my "work list."

Yeah, I almost wore Photomode out making sure "no touch." Thanks for taking a peek, and definitely watching film!

I have no problem exporting my own replay to the PS3 but for some reason when I export any other replay and load it up I just get a message on the playstation saying that there is no saved data.

Do you get that message in GT5, or the XMB?

Two possibilities come to mind.
1) The replay is not in the proper folder on the USB Stick ( \PS3\SAVEDATA\BCES00569-RPLxxx where xxx is a 3 digit replay number).
2) The file has not been copied to the PS3 before you try to import in GT5 (It is slightly counter intuative, but you need to first copy it to your PS3 using the XMB, then import into GT5. Can't import directly from the USB stick in GT5).

I think it's possibly the latter - the copy to the main disk hasn't happened.

It's silly that you can't import from the USB stick. Or indeed the cloud storage which is now there (Assume that is also the case)

Thanks for checking cicua.

I took the time to review a few myself

I also checked GTP_RoeszaGT , all clear but had to get up over the car in photo mode to check near the red firestone wall after the chicane. That was some nice judement there.

Really nice lap, especially where you get the inside 2 wheels in the air after the tight casino hairpin before the tunnel. Would give you a thumbs up for that but all the smilies have become the same?

Thank you. Yeah, that was very close to the wall there and somewhere I could be faster, but I didn't put a lot effort, because I don't have much time. I think I've spent around 2-3 hours getting that lap and I was pretty happy with it, but I knew I could improve it if I tried. I like the Cote d'Azur course, but many laps have gone begging because of touching the wall slightly or missing the apex's. I will be much worse than that when there will be a week with option to tune the suspension, because I'm absolutely rubbish at this.

PS. I guess the smilies are like that because of April's Fools Day.

Those that are ok with tuning usually share their setups, so you'll have a choice of setups to try to see if they suit your driving style.

Adam, Dan - thanks for the moral support and sympathy guys 👍 (thumbs-up) I've been going through my various replays for Monaco and I've cut the chicane too much on every single one of them.... and there's me thinking I've not been consistent this week. :dunce: (dunce)

Thx for also checking my replay.
I also looked at that situation in photo-mode and it was damn close.

Stunning lap Josh, absolutely on the edge for most of it, was tempted to have a crack but I had yet to upload my replays from the Qually.

It looks like my replay got skipped over back on page 2 https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5124411#post5124411 If one of you NTSC guy want to take a look at it I'd appreciate it. 👍 (thumbs-up)

Oops, I thought yours had been checked. Working on it right now!

Visual settings correct and clean run! One note: Online course weather was sunny, however wiper blades on the car were active. But, since precipitation was only evident on ScepTer's brow, the Green Flag is awarded!

Nice lap!!

Thanks for checking! Seems that I end up with the wipers on in about half of my replays, using bumper cam I don't noticed them until its too late.

I spotted one a few pages back that doesn't look confirmed and checked it out

Nice use of handbrake in the hairpin

Eventually sorted out my issues with being able to watch replays From what I have seen it's clean, came close to some walls in sector 3 though.

Maybe try not to be so aggressive in the turns as there is a lot of smoke on this lap, try to be a bit smoother through the turns and your times will improve. Hope this helps

Nice use of handbrake in the hairpin

Thanks for checking.

My homemade cockpit was taking a beating with the hairpin, thought I was going to break it so tried the handbrake and it felt quicker, pity I was too afraid of the walls for the rest of the lap.

Thought my cockpit would be ok and then we are given eiger. Have had to spend time today strengthening it. Lol

Thanks for the encouragement and all and any tips and criticism are welcomed. I was watching Josh's lap- mind boggling.I have a lot of practice to do and so little time to do it. I am having fun getting there though.

My replay link looks different then everyone else's, not sure I uploaded correctly?

Here's mine.

Visual specs correct and run is clean!
