New splits:

T1: 53.601
T2: 1'37.712

Had a 53.558 T1 going earlier but messed up at Spoon.
I don't think I had a very good run through 130R on this lap, still not quite sure how to approach it.

First splits using Ramon's second tune:

T1: 55.158
T2: 1'40.705

Still need to improve a lot for my division, but actually find the F40 with this tune easy to drive.

Anybody has good tricks for the Spoon?

I tend approach it this way Spoon curve 1: I seem to break just before the little road on the right, slow down to about 130 km/H accelerate back to 141 in between the 2 turns, slow down to 115 for the spoon exit, hit throttle early. This is my weakest turn at this moment, generally I miss it completely.

P.S.: as you see from the splits, the rest is not great either, but feels more in control or I know what went wrong.

Question regarding the tune, though: I read it as +.12 toe front and - 0.05 toe rear... is that supposed to be like that!? I thought it's usually the other way round...

Even in my best lap I have a toe of +0.15/-0.10 , of course depending on the car, the track and your driving style the toe is different but I rarely use a toe of -0.xx/+0.xx , I prefer oversteering so usually I set a toe of +0.xx/-0.xx in almost any car.

Big congrats on those splits 👍👍 I thought eclipsee was the only one from that planet:lol:

Wow there are some fast guys around in WRS again, can't wait to re-qualify in D2 in GT5.:P Here's my new splits. I think I'll submit with this lap, the motivation to continue is gone. This lap felt kind of dodgy except it was really great in some key areas like exiting the esses, through Degner and exiting Spoon and Casio.

T1- 54.019
T2- 1'38.337

Some more laps ,and some faster splits...:

T1:0'53.704
T2:1'37.921

Still not happy, because i made a small mistake in the hairpin, and in 130r...I have done several laps with better splits, but untill now never with a quick cgicane runthrough at the end...hope to create some more time to do a finall attempt to realise a near to perfect lap!!...

spy.

I'm still seeing plenty of time to be made up on my lap but these will probably my final splits as it is a bank holiday. I'm not going to submit my lap as I hope to be back before the deadline for one last blast. :)

T1 54.364
T2 1'38.954

I'm also running the +/- toe. I find it induces 'power on' over steer as opposed to 'lift-off' over steer. It really helps if you want to get the power on early into Dunlop, spoon and 130r in particular.

Have a good weekend all,
Dan.

You realize D1 will never be comprised of only the D1 Gold pace guys, right?

It's one of the prices paid for making it to D1. It becomes very difficult to compete for podiums, and you likely need to set new goals for yourself. Like, staying ahead of D2, which you are doing a reasonably good job of, so far. :dopey:

I'm trying to limit it to 2 small mistakes, together with my inability this should give a normal D2 time.

Current best is 2 blunders

and 5 small mistakes

Maybe, but I only got to D1 because all the top D2 guys kept winning and getting promoted until it was my turn.:sly: Difference between them and myself is they got faster, I didn't.:dopey: When GT5 comes around, I'll give the qualifier my all, but all I'm saying is I'm not expecting D1 at all, so I won't be disappointed if I'm not.

Edit: I just realised something, Carl is still a Bronze D1 member, I doubt that will last.:D

Great splits. 👍

Thanks Ramon 👍 And also, thanks for sharing your tune. I tried to use your suspension setup, but it was just a little too loose for me, so I went back to Paulie's suspension with some tweaks. Your gears are great though. Everyone's driving style is a little different. I don't think I've ever used +0/-0 toe in a car, but I will give it a try from now on. It really helps cars turn more freely.

Having a negative front toe in the game seems to have the effect of real life toe-in, which increases front grip but decreases turn-in ability. Odd, because negative numbers usually mean toe-out. I really like my cars to be stable and consistent, that's why I usually go with toe-in on the rear. I've already submitted my lap, but I might try some toe-out out back if I get a chance just to see what the rage is about.;)
So IMO having positive front toe in the game would probably hurt the car's ability to turn, but rear toe has a greater effect on the car's handling, so using toe-out on the rear like Ramon has will almost certainly have a greater effect towards helping the car turn more.

If you think all I look at for promotions is whether or not someone is winning the division, you are mistaken.

Anyone who has received a division promotion from me has earned it, through consistent performance that is representative of at least the average performance of the division they are being moved into. That includes you.

As far as Carl is concerned, he has not participated for some time. So yes, I expect that he'll be moved up very soon. ;)

Aliens! You're all aliens.... (runs helter skelter down the front straight at Suzuka, eyes big as saucers and waving his arms in the air)........ :scared:

You better run in the grass, there's a pack of F40's coming through the chicane right about now and it looks like Carl and Ramon leading the way.

T1: 53.574
T2: 1'37.746

Not happy with the T3.. but it's my fastest save so far. Great Combo Kev. and nice tune Carl.

Great splits Dan 👍 and I'm glad you liked the tune. But I can't take credit for it obviously--big thanks to Ramon and Paulie for sharing. If I had to come up with my own tunes, well, it wouldn't be pretty let's just put it that way :)

Small improvement

T1 - 54.923
T2 - 1'39.821

@ DGiant2000

I am coming back for my spot on the top of D3 :P
