I really can be an idiot sometimes!!

I didnt save the replay of my 53.670 T1 time so I had to spend the past couple minutes doing laps to try and get another similar.

Luckily I didnt lose too much in T1 on my newest sector times so the order shouldn't change I think! Sorry for the inconvenience but my old time has to be DQ'ed with no proof to show for it !

Ya know, if you want someone to review your replay early to insure its clean you can always mail it to me now. Just attach the replay and put the tune in the body of the email.

Also, how does the theoretical fastest time on the leaderboard work? Sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask this.

I believe it is the fastest T1 time plus the fastest sector times resulting in what should be the fastest possible final discussable split for the week. Otherwise known as that mythical, unattainable lap where you put all your fastest sectors together - but this one is even worse, because its the fastest possible sectors from every racer.

I didn't change the gearing yet, just using 1st - 3rd.
Changed the camber a bit front and rear and a little rear toe.
It was a bit tight for me.

Look, please forgive me, but huh?! okierox, you're beating one of the top aliens the world has seen by over 2 tenths and you're in D2, that's like asking Mark Weber to do a lap 2sec faster in qualifying in F1. I suspect you'll be bolted straight to D1 Gold after this week, no way can that be any fluke performance of the sort.

First of all welcome to WRS, I would say this is the best place to improve your skills, but you're doing fine by the looks of it 👍

I do understand what Paulie is saying, it is incredible for us to see anybody go faster than Ramon, period. Let alone to have pulled 2 tenths on him by T2 already especially as you have qualified D2 gold and by your own admission gave that your very best attempt.

Please don't take any offence mate, but do you mind if I just ask you a few of questions about your lap?

1) Is the F40 you are using definitely limited to 700PP for the free run? As you may know the game does allow you to run higher PP in the free run than in the race, despite the limit imposed on the event.

2) Are you definitely running the EXPERT 700PP Suzuka Online event, or are you possibly in the Intermediate 800PP Suzuka or one of the Online time trials?

3) Are you definitely NOT using the clutch on a G25, G27 or Fanatec wheel to set your lap?

If you're ok on all of the above, and are definitely using the F40 (not F430), then mate, congratulations on some absolutely spectacular splits, you won't be in D2 very long

Again, I very much hope you do not see this message as disrespectful. The sooner we can establish that you have all the correct settings, the sooner we can start congratulating you on your excellent driving 👍

That isn't possible isn't it??..If you are in the right race and go to game settings,the pro/standard option is grey so you can't change it...

Ah, that might explain it then, the intermediate event uses standard physics and not pro. Don't worry, we've all done it at one time or another

The pro event is shown further down the screen. It needs to be 700PP pro, with your car set as specified in the first post.

Power: -5% (451 HP)
Weight: 85 (1149 kg)
Driving Aids: Optional
Transmission: Optional
Tyre Type: R3 / R3
Performance Points: 700 PP

Just enter the pro online event, and make your run in free run. Please try to get a corrected run ASAP, I'd rather avoid deleting your splits from the thread.

I'm not best qualified to give you an answer. You might post your tune or try one of the set-ups provided.

Alternatively, change the tyres to S3's, do 10 laps and the put the R3's back on. It probably will not help but you will laugh about it.

Thanks Fastas. I using the Den's tune. The just feels like I have to turn the wheel a little further then normal to get around some of the corners.

For example, I ran a 53.7 / 1'38.054 tonight and forgot to save the replay. That's the first time in 2 and a half years of GT5 that I've forgotten to do that. After a 3 hour session I was prepared to set fire to my wheel then send it through the TV.

Hey,

Just getting started here in the WRS and am looking forward to some quality racing with you guys! I did the qualifier in the 430 back in 2008 but never got around to doing any races, but am now excited to start taking them seriously. In '08, i qualified as Division 3: Silver with the sixaxis. I've since gotten a wheel(DFGT) but have been ridiculously busy with school and haven't played a whole lot and am eager to polish my driving up! But yeah, here's my first shot from this afternoon.

after watching the replay a few times, I think i can see where i'm losing a little time in the first sector so I'm going to focus on that, as well as that hairpin...

Also, I want to thank the Den for a great starting tune, it took seconds off my laptime!

Using Ramon's second listed tune with my own 5 speed Gearbox (Using Gears 2-5).

I like being able to use the gears as brakes in a few areas, since the ones using the left pedal don't work all that well.
