I hope so bro! :) :D I really cant enter the division where i belong....even it would be D2 or D1 ;)...i really did my best for this and i will stop trying at this track and with this car for today. After 7 hours im done for today! ;)

Joey B.

7 hours today?? Wow. I seem to always take less than 30 minutes to get a good lap. I wasn't too fond of the qualifier either. I knew I was a D1 gold pace driver, but couldn't get to grips with the BMW.

I am on holiday for a week so will have time to run this more than likely :)

Does anyone have a tune they would like to share? I am not in a team and have no clue when it comes to tuning myself so was wondering if anybody would pm me one to try, I won't give it away to your rivals as I don't know anyone yet

The BMW M3 GT2 likes to drift :) its indeed hard to control the Beemer.

Yes it took me 7 hours to get 2 awesome times...i wasnt really in the mood caused by the fact that my 8year old little son played yesterday with the setup of my car....so 7 hours including: new setup, testlap, adjust the setup, testlap, finetune, testlap...i was kinda angry, mad and devils in once.....3hours later i posted my 1st top5 leaderboard time. And 4hours later (includes dinner, bedtime-story for my son) i posted the fastest time for me today! ;) So i was kinda busy with doing stuff between racing for leaderboards. :)

Joey B.

Btw. You also have a really nice time at the boards! ;)

Here's my pathetic splits. My T3 feels off the charts fast. T1 (turn 1 really) hasn't been so hot. I saw just a couple 15.2 T1's :( Must be the basically default tune

I have no idea how to tune but I'm trying different settings at the moment based on this thread and I'm happy to post my findings so far:
  1. The first thing I wanted was better turn in/rotation and so as per the thread mentioned, I put the rear ride height all the way down and the front all the way up, this seemed to work for me and I kind of like how it corners so that's where I'm at right now.
  2. The second thing I wanted was more traction so I put the downforce on maximum both front and rear and that appeared to help but I think it's costing me top end speed, I'll fiddle with that later.
  3. The next thing I've been working on is I wanted to carry more speed mid corner and so I put front toe completely positive and that seems to be working, I also changed the front/rear diff to like 40:60 and I'm liking that too.
  4. The last thing I've changed so far was gearing, I found some info somewhere on GTPlanet about how to set up gears and I made a spreadsheet that automated a lot of what they suggested (see attached). I'm not 100% convinced it works but I'm trialing having 290 as my top speed (I think, I'm going off memory) and the gear ratios from my spreadsheet.
That's all I've changed so far and I'm actually enjoying slight tinkering here and there, particularly since you get immediate feedback with that fast left-hander after the S/F line...I really think this is the perfect week/combo to learn, in practice, how tuning works, hopefully I get a better understanding by the end 👍

How do you guys hold the speed through T1?

Are you sure you have SS tires on there and not the SH that came with the car ?!?

Brake just before the first blue marker on the right, down to 4th, drift a touch wide on the way in, steady throttle until the front starts to hook and come back towards a late apex and grab 5th gear just past the apex. That should easily get you into 15.xxx.

Well, I hit a 15.3 when the car was close to stock besides aero and tires, taking the corner around 200km/h. The more I messed with the car to have it drive like I wanted to on the rest of the track lowered the speed to 180km/h. It's baffling, so I think I'm just going to start over.

Turn 1 is the bane of my existence so far, everything else is really coming together.

15.300 - I'd like to know what I'm missing, haha

I've been braking at the last red arrow with small braking pressure and slow down shifting. If you happen to notice the worn rubber line coming out, follow it. Had some pretty low 9's, but then again, the rest of my team is destroying my times

Thanks for the help! 👍 I F.A.R.T. in your general direction. And that's a good thing. :P

Gravity does always win, doesn't it? Oh well, the amount of juvenile fart jokes that have passed (pun intended) on our convo is well worth it. :)

I'm going to hit this combo for 20min and then fall asleep. If I can't beat Jerome's time in 20min then I'll just sandbag so I can do next week's. :sly:

Found it very interesting since I´m in trouble setting up the car and maybe this can be really helpfull @MisterWeary !! Thankyou for the share Thread and good luck!

nnnnoOOOOOO!!!!

I can't wait for next week's combo giggity giggity...

I just realized I didn't put a link to the points leaderboard for those participating in the team competition. Here's the link, I'll add it to the OP my apologies guys (and Kelly):

Oh, and I did post the formula for the points multiplier in the OP too if anyone wants to have a look.
