I have no idea how to tune but I'm trying different settings at the moment based on
this thread and I'm happy to post my findings so far:
- The first thing I wanted was better turn in/rotation and so as per the thread mentioned, I put the rear ride height all the way down and the front all the way up, this seemed to work for me and I kind of like how it corners so that's where I'm at right now.
- The second thing I wanted was more traction so I put the downforce on maximum both front and rear and that appeared to help but I think it's costing me top end speed, I'll fiddle with that later.
- The next thing I've been working on is I wanted to carry more speed mid corner and so I put front toe completely positive and that seems to be working, I also changed the front/rear diff to like 40:60 and I'm liking that too.
- The last thing I've changed so far was gearing, I found some info somewhere on GTPlanet about how to set up gears and I made a spreadsheet that automated a lot of what they suggested (see attached). I'm not 100% convinced it works but I'm trialing having 290 as my top speed (I think, I'm going off memory) and the gear ratios from my spreadsheet.
That's all I've changed so far and I'm actually enjoying slight tinkering here and there, particularly since you get immediate feedback with that fast left-hander after the S/F line...I really think this is the perfect week/combo to learn, in practice, how tuning works, hopefully I get a better understanding by the end 👍
