Got a couple shots at my favorite photo op location today, a historic garage that's about 25 miles from my house.

Car is looking very good Kev 👍

Congrats on the new car. They very popular over here in the bush (South Africa)

Well this seems an interesting thread. :D

My first was a '91 VW Corrado with the supercharged G60 motor. It was OK for a first car but it had its fair share of issues. Replaced the exhaust, blew the head gasket, etc etc. My second car was this:

My 2000 GTI...loved it. 5 speed, VR6, super awesome. I put about 90K miles on it over 10 years from brand new until some jerk did this to it:

Got clipped on the tollway right in my blind spot by someone who decided he wasn't in the lane he needed to be in. Spun me around, bounced between some very large trucks and smashed rear end first into the center concrete divider. I was sad to see it go but eventually replaced it with my current daily driver:

It's a 2001 Audi A6 Avant. It's auto with a 2.8L so not particularly fast at 5200+ pounds but it sure is fun to blast around in crappy weather. The wife gets a kick out of telling people they got dusted by a wagon. :D

I also have an E28 535i that isn't running at the moment. Used to run well but the electrics on this car are a nightmare, especially with 197K on the clock. If anyone near the north Chicago suburbs wants to buy it feel free to take it off my hands. :sly: You can see it in the background in these two:

My stress buster (weekend car) an old girl that I've had from new and love driving so much that I just can't imagine swapping her for anything else. She's a 7 year old BMW Z4M Roadster in Interlagos Blue with 84k miles on the clock and these pictures were taken today in the driveway at home.

Facts for the motorheads :)
  • Engine size: 3246 cc
  • Cylinders: 6
  • Aspiration: Normal
  • Power Output: 338 bhp
  • Top Speed: 155 mph (limited)
  • Torque: 365 Nm 269 lb-ft
  • 0-60 MPH: 4.8 secs

Missed this before today.
I had a 2001, hence my username, 01GTP. ;)

Kenny - Nice to see you got another GTP to match your namesake after the tree fell on the other one. 👍

I like the color as well, you gonna take it out on the track at Lime Rock? :sly:

Actually Kevin, that is not my GTP but it is otxjto's.

I was trying to quote his post but somewhat failed.
I'm still trying to figure out how to quote other posts.

Thanks for inquiring.

I was wondering why there where two posts that were exactly the same.

Nice rides everyone. 👍

Here is my new ride 6 weeks old now. Not the fastest but have to spend a lot of time in it every day so needed comfort and i wanted to make it looks fast  Think i reach that. I love the looks and my custom made rims (ok they are standard R-Design rims only the color is custom made) and i love the dark rear windows and the panoramic roof and for the cold days the heated windscreen, in no time it's defrosted :)

Still in love :sly:

That's actually not bad looking. What is that? Don't think I've seen one Stateside.

If only I could get rid of my S80.....

It a V40 R-design. it's actually the smallest and cheapest Volvo available. You see a lot of them here in the Netherlands. It is a very economic car for the business users. But with the new standards form 2014 it would be anymore and the people has a lot more to choose from then.

Just sell your S80 ;)

And forgot to mention Argon. Very nice weekend fun car you have there. Very tempting to floor it, specially a race lover :sly:

@DTM Thanks Dennis, you got your self a nice ride there too.

My week day car is an Toyota RAV4 (diesel) and I'd really like to swap it for something like your Volvo but she who must be obeyed won't hear of it

I'm in the same boat as @Argon , can't sell off "The Hulk" (it's green :)) just yet and if I did the wife is still first in line for a new car. ;)

The Focus is currently in the driveway with 4 inches of snow caked on. Even after I drove to the market today and did an E-brake turn to pull into the driveway, the snow remained. It's damned cold here. But the heated garage keeps the other cars warm and comfortable.

Thanks Frank, I'm really lucky to have her and enjoy every second I can behind the wheel. She's all tucked up in the garage for the winter now but if we get the odd dry sunny day then I'll get her out for a run 👍

Hey, I've got one of those as well. 👍

A Focus that is. Mine has nicer wheels than yours though.

What's that heap blocking the view of it? Meh.

That focus, my mother bought new. It's got the hotter engine (for the US Market, that is), and a five speed, and those are just the wheels that came with it. I bought it for the wife to drive the kids around in. And Clarkson's experience on the TV, with the Ford GT, gave it a bad wrap. It's really not a bad car, though some of the electronic gadgetry that he complained about malfunctioning, this car doesn't even have.

Well as my name suggests I would only have one toy to play with on the weekend built up from a bare shell my r33 gtst skyline and used for drag racing and my other little toy also built myself a C2 vtr with 200bhp
