GTP_WRS'ers and their setups

You have a Rick and don't play it?

Yes that would be my workmates and I playing and singing, both badly. Excellent sleuthing, Detective Aspec. đź‘Ť

Well, now, you've put a couple of wrs related videos on here, which took me to your channel... and I can't sing worth a 🤬 myself, so who am I to talk? I don't remember your playing being all that bad, though.

Slight update to my setup. I've got proper pedals now, a different room and a larger but just as average TV! :D

Hi guys, just a quick one. I'm looking for a rig for sale. Exactly something like Oink's EVO.
I know I could get one of eBay but maybe someone have spare one. Thanx

My Playseat and T500 are now themed with the Corvette Racing 'Jake" Badge. I have a custom wheel center cap from John Bodin along with some decals replacing the Playseat decals. Buttkicker Gamers is best addition I've made besides the wheel itself. It looks like I need to dust under the seat.:)

The one on the bottom of the seat's just a sticker, right? Nevertheless, looks impressive. đź‘Ť

Actually, what've you all done to keep your pedals stationary? Mine keeps moving away. :indiff:

(It's against a desk with the wire going underneath it.)

But turning the wheel (the shadow on the upper left) does move the desk rather easily. Need to put more weight to the lower parts of the desk, somehow.

Not sure if this would work but way way back in my early days I had the same problem with a different wheel set and I drilled a hole in the footplate then got a strong bit of string and tied it to the legs of the chair I was sitting on. The string being the right length to set the pedals at the optimum distance.

Worked a charm but did nothing to improve my driving đź‘Ť

That's what I'd like to do, but the "wall" (being my TV stand) is too far back. :indiff:

That's a great idea! I'll see if I can locate some string and give it a try. đź‘Ť Oh, and I'll not expect an improvement of my driving.

I need to be able to put them away after usage, but if I didn't, I'd definitely've done that.

My wife has promised me a :gtpflag: 'gaming cave' :gtpflag: once we get the living-room properly organized... at that time I'll build me something cool. Except for the occasional TV-show (or the Olympics) we don't use the livingroom much, which is good for me... đź‘Ť

I used to use one of those anti slip carpet pads, you know those rubbery waffle pattern deals. They're cheap and can be cut to size and are quite grippy.
I got some of those laying around, maybe in a combination with the string-method, it'll be completely secure. I'll try it!

Thanks for all the inspiration! :gtpflag:

Here's my setup updated with my CSR Elite.

I had a fellow GTP'er eKretz install a couple new, more reliable, cooler motors and install a cooling mod in my wheelbase. I had to add an air pump, but I think I'll move it from next to me on the carped to in a closet so it's quieter when I race.

Sweet, Jerome đź‘Ť Are those custom brake and throttle brackets I see there? Bolted to the pedal plate? I like that idea....

Hey Guys,

As I'm new to GTP I thought it would be a good time to step up my game and trade my DS3 for a wheel. But the problem was I'm a student with no money. Luckily GTP_PASM borrowed me his 2nd wheel (dfp). Second problem although I'm a student I dont have a desk in my room. I have a strong philosophy about doing school work at school and when I'm in my room I just want it to be more like a living room so I can have a couple:cheers: with my mates. So the coffee table is to thick to mount the wheel so I went out shopping in our house a found this lovely drawer cabinet so I claimed it en got rid of the drawers.

So here is my 0 dollar/pound/euro solution.

Actually they are just the CSR-E Pedals removed from their base. Then, I had a local welder weld a wider plate for my pedals, to make things more comfy in the, uh, 'groin area'.

I'm curious as to what that white/grey-ish bar really is... Is that the air pump?

The air pump is that gray block, sitting on the G25 shifter plate (closest to the camera, just beside the black seat). The white/grey bar, I 'think' you are seeing is my logitech keyboard/mouse combo to control my PC (sitting atop that long black bar) which is also connected my TV and my PS3 is passing it's signal through it so I can record replays and such đź‘Ť

I also forgot to mention, that I use bowling shoes (sitting on my racing seat, but can't seem them really - black on black) to race with because A) my feel get hypothermia in 2 seconds and B) they give excellent slip in the toe and grip at the heel so my feet don't move an inch when I race and I get complete, accurate pedal control. They are about $40-ish and I'd recommend anyone try it.
