Sorry about that... spaced out there. Do you realize though, how many GT3 drivers are out there that DON'T drift? it's a tragedy. I think there should be a drifters crusade..

Lead the way................ ;)

Well you know what would happen don't you? They'd accuse us of copying the whole robin hood prince of theives thing, then when we finally convinced them it was legit, they'd make a parady... something like Drifters: Men in tights *shakes head* I'm not prepared to take such risks.

That and most grippers just hate us drifters, so it wouldn't be an easy task. ;)

Well, thanks for the counterpoints guys. Well defended, I must say. I do hope that most of you read that I meant no harm by it, just that I was kind of t'd off by the results. Maybe I should take a nap, I haven't slept this week. :( It's a hard life doing too much for everyone. Oh well, Drift on...

Oh yeah, battle_stage, I know you could drift the last corner, I was just stating a point.
I hope you understand where I was going with it. It's kind of weird if it's a contest and you only complete 90% of it, if you get my point. I meant no disrespect.

My conglaturations to Pergatory.

And I'm 4th, not bad. My car had normal tyres, and I realized that they make not much smoke. I did the video one month ago, because I had exams. But one week before the dead line I had some spare time and instead of re-doing my entry, I was taking practice with sims, and now, I can consider me "good" on sims (you'll see at team battle).

Hmmm... I think a better way to judge may be in order... The way i scored seemed to be a lot different from other people... But i still think the way i scored was right... :D Toyo you didn't do bad at all in my book... I don't know if i am allowed to say that :scared:

Perg you definitely did a great job... I think the winner was clear in this comp, so i don't really see the problem. Vin brings up a good point... Drift comps are for our entertainment and some healthy competition.

I don't know if that's necessarily a bad sign. In fact it may be a good thing. It means our judges are diverse rather than everyone thinking the same thing. Seems to represent the opinion of the forum in general. Now if everyone on the forum had the same idea of what drifting is, what control is, what style is, etc. then we might expect to see less diverse scores. Dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but that's the way I look at it. ;)

Agreed. That's why we have more than one judge. So we can get a diverse view of the drifting, and then come up with an average. I think it is the best way to do it, especially since we are going to have more judges on the panel. ;)

We might have a small change in the judging scheme... But we will talk about that when the time comes... Control is a bit broad dont ja think...

Maybe some more parameters would be benificial. Like breaking up control into a few more specific points............... ;)

Me and Thio already discussed such a system a while ago.

We broke up control into a few more specific groups, and got rid of smoke.

Well, we need to rediscuss this matter, so we can implement it into the points system, once the new judges are decided. ;)

I was thinking of making a thread where we can discuss this int he open, but i would like to hear the system that Battle and Thio came up with before i make any such thread...

Let's get the competition started:

Course: Monaco :)

Now for the instructions. It is imperative that you read this before you register:

There will be a racing and exhibition division. In those divisions, there will be categories: Professional and Amateur. To participate, here's what you need to do:
1. Decide on what car, division, and category you want to compete in.
2. PM me the name of the car, what division and category you want to compete in.
3. Drift on Cote de`Azur (Monaco) ;) Make sure it's your best entry. Include the speedometer, steering wheel and the lap time for fairness.
4. Create a video for your entry.
5. Upload the video onto a FTP. If you don't know how to, PM or IM the judges. Their contact information is on the bottom.
6. Wait for the results! :D

Deadline: February 1st, 2004

If you have anymore questions, please check the thread titled, "GTP Drift Competition / Challenge Rules." If your answer is not there, then ask in this thread.

I hope everyone has fun! Good luck and Drift on.

i wanna enter one of these sometime, now... I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but how do you get your saves from ps2 to your computer? something to do with a "sharkport" or something like that?

You need either a capture card, or a digi cam (capture card prefferably). You cannot turn Sharkport files into media files, because the sps. file only has raw data, not actual video footage. The GT3 disc is what transforms the raw data into a video. ;)
