Well, I lost the drift a little in the first big corner, and I hit the wall, in the corner after the tight U, and I missed 2 link opportunities. I can drift much better than what you see in the vid. In fact, you will see a better Cote run, in my Team Battle vid.

I just watched your vid Perg, good job. I didn't even think of linking those two turns at the bottom of the hill. Great Job! ;)
 
So for the next GTPDC, what other courses would you like to see?

So far, there is Complex String and Trial Mountain II.

Any other suggestions? I think we should have a poll on this ...

Well, an interesting challenge would be either Laguna Seca (backwards) or Apricot Hill II.....IMHO. However, I still think Trial Mountain II is the clear choice.;)

I thought every video submitted was very good, nobody sucked in this competition. The scores speak for themselves, everybody was within 7 points of each other. That's hardly any variance at all compared to the other competitions.

I just went through and watched every video. I'm sorry judges, but you f*d up REALLY BAD!
There is no factual evidence to say that everyone got the scores they did, I mean did you actually watch the vids, or IMAGINE THEM?
That was probably the worst assessment I have ever seen. Screw the voting panel, let the driver's choose. It's their work. And as for outside opinions, and shifted votes, well then that's just cheap. Make it like the photoshop comp.'s, let the viewers decide.

First of all silviadrifter had a ton more points then recognized, and some of the racers beating him definitely didn't have them. I don't know who it was, because I didn't save the files, but someone finished by going through the pit, what the heck, that's missing one of the better skill-involved turns. Then, whoever drove the subari wagon, didn't drift half of the turns.

I'm not trying to say that they are bad drivers, which is actually far from the truth. I'm saying that the voting process is screwed. Turn it over to the people to decide, because they know what's going on.

Hahaha, that was me going through the pits. I wasn't even trying to make a GTPDC vid when I made that. I was just messing around and drifted into the pits. Then I said, "hey, that was a pretty clean lap, maybe I'll use it for GTPDC and get that out of the way."
It was my second lap of the DAY, and my car was and still is stock. If you really doubt my skill by "missing one of the better skill-involved turns", I'll make a vid real quick of just that section if it makes you feel better.

The problem with that is that you could end up in a situation where it wouldn't be a matter of who's entry is better, but a matter of popularity. You could also end up having a team vote for their own members regardless of the quality of the entry.

If you have a problem with the judging of this comp, you're going to have to be more specific with regards to your issue with it.

If you look at the judging panel, the people on it have proved themselves by providing a drift video to show that they understand at what they are looking at/for, or they proved their knowledge on drifting by participating in discussions about drifting. It was hard to decide who would be on the judging panel on the start, but soon it's going to evolve since there are more members in the forum.

Also, there can be biases against other teams or drifters. We're just trying to avoid that and give an equal playing field for all of the drifters to show their skill.

We should keep the judging system its just like the D1 plus if they setup a poll people will just vote for the members on thier teams and if one team has more members then the others the scoring will be worse your point is harsh i think the judges did thier job plus eveyone on the panel is very talented and has lots of knowledge about drifting so...
 
But you have to ask yourself what the true purpose of the drift comps are... Is it to see who the better drifter is or to simply give entertainment to the nice people here at GTP? You decide... I personally know who the best drifters are here. And you all know you are. I personally enjoy watching and making videos for the masses. Drifting is alot about show after all.

It's both for show, and for practice IMHO. However, I am deffinately shooting for first place in the next comp......... :D
