I would like to apologise to all if I offended anyone in the races tonight. That last race kind of got to me.
I would like to apologise to freshseth for making an issue about the hit to my car at the Nurimburg GP race. It is just racing I guess.đź‘Ť
If someone else wants to host the rest of Div2 races, I'll step down. Just let me know when we are racing. :)

Hey OwensRacing, I hope you know that I'm just messing around. But a re-match would be fun. :)

I have no problem with you hosting. After all, contact is only a part of auto racing and we'll have to live with it. Whether or not the ones involved want to take it personally is up to the individual. To be honest, I don't think any contact is on purpose here. We're all pushing ourselves to try our best here. And because of that, mistakes will happen.

I'm just making sure because the schedule seems to be off a little, we are racing Monza this Sunday coming up right?

I think that we have postponed the series until further notice, i.e.when the servers are fixed and we can go back to running 16 people in one room. When we do commence, we will either run Nurb GP/f again or move ahead to LeMans. I am unsure as to which at the moment though, as I think it is still being debated.

I just realized, that that only applies for Div 1. the div 2 guys seem to be doing their own thing now :P

No. We were supposed to race LaSarth, but it was cancled because we only had 3 people show up to race. We were told we could move on by Jav. I have know idea what is going on at the moment except there are some changes coming.
I hope we find out soon. I would like to race.:)

I'm back.. might load up GT5 sometime this week and test the car out... lol

Hopefully I'm not dead tired this sunday and dont miss the race, hahah. Will be at the Rolex 24 this weekend..

Nice! Visit the Turner Motorsports tent for me :D

The following announcements are effective immediately.
-The GTPFIA GT Omega World Cup will restart February 5.
-From now on tire wear and fuel consumption will be set to off, if tire wear gets an adjustment in future updates it will be evaluated and implemented if aproved by the GTPFIA.
-The Ford GT Spec II Test Car is now banned and the Test Car drivers will switch to the Ford GT Spec II Race Car.

Glad I made the switch beforehand! Are you going to implement the two pit rule with the two tire compound usage (mediums/softs preferably)?

i have started playing xbox guys and forza motorsport first impressions are that it is pretty good even on the demo version i just need to get the 12 membership card and upgrade the memory đź‘Ť

I tend to agree with freshseth on this one.
Please don't hate me for wanting to voice my oppinion. :)
I don't agree with the Tire & Fuel decision. Even with the way GT5 screwed up the tire wear, I still compensated for it. I think we should run with tire wear & Fuel cosumption on and get used to it.:)

This is disappointing (tire wear). Also Feb 5th is the superbowl.

Jav, you can not start this series again on the 5th...giants are in the super bowl...I think most people won't mind waiting an extra week....

Or start this week with next week off...

Betcha come back. ;)

As for tire wear and fuel. This rules is Just silly. Why can't we deal with it. Honestly it rewards smoother drivers. This new rules rewards aggressive drivers. Ones that put the tires in the red often. Before they would be pitting earlier then others.

Yea, sorry to say, but count me out with this rule change.

What I suggested in the ALMS thread was that we mandate 2 stops per race, with using two compounds of tires. We can turn the tire wear off this way and still keep some competition through strategy. A minimum of 10 laps used for each tire compound. With a pit window between lap 10-16. If you start on softs you can go for a longer amount of laps and gain more time. But you'll have to pay for it with a 2nd stint or 3rd stint on the mediums.

If the race is say 35 laps, you start on softs and pit lap 16- the last of the pit window laps for your 1st mandated stop- you can switch back to softs, but you'll have to pit again to run the final 10 laps on mediums. But if you start on mediums, you can do a quick first stint of the minimum 10 laps, pit then use softs for your 2nd and 3rd stint. But the key here is the minimum usage of each tire, each time! So you can't just make a 1 stopper and go onto blow away the field. You'd have to pit again at the end of lap 24 so that you use your 3rd set of tires for at least 10 laps. The same would apply for the medium/soft/soft strategy. 10 laps on mediums, pit end of lap 10, lap 11 start on softs, use for any number of laps up until lap 25, then start 26 onwards to 35th final lap on your 2nd softs.

Not bad Idea:tup:

I like this idea but I think jav didnt go with it because its too hard to enforce. Now Im not saying anyone is going to cheat if we end up using this idea, but there just isnt any way to prove that everyone is following the rule unless the stewards watch everyones replays for their pitstops and look at every lap of every racer to make sure the times add up to the correct tire compounds average lap times (because Im pretty sure it dosent show what compound you chose on the replay when you pit).

Now that being said Im of the opinion we should leave tire wear/fuel on Id rather go with tires mandatory meds or hards than turn wear off. Although I really like the white ford change Ive been thinking the same for along time now the black ford should not have been in the series at all imo.

the replay tells you what tires are being run, so all that really has to be checked is seeing the different tire compounds.

If anyone is that desperate to cheat and use all softs, they don't belong in this series anyway- if it goes the direction I suggested.

Ok guys, I hear you. Wich would you like the best? Just use the regular wear or turn it off and enforce 1 pit stop at the 35-40% mark of the race to change the tire compuond?

I agree with owens mostly cept I wont quit if we go with no tire wear. Ill deal with whatever we decide on but I prefer tire wear on.

Ok, guys let me know how you feel about the alternatives we got. The idea is to make things better, not to upset or drive anyone away.

Im pretty happy with the tire wear off to be honest

No tire wear is boring, unless you make it mandatory racing hards then itll add a little to it. The soft tires are way to forgiving.

Turn tire wear off. Just do it with the two compound rule, enforce 2 stops and minimum laps done on each tire. It's really not that hard. Just make sure you use the mediums for 10 laps and pit twice!

I vote tire wear on!

Race teams deal with this issue all the time when they change manufactures contracts, but the key rule is to combat these situations. I hated tire wear 2.02 until I noticed the change in my driving pattern plus countless hours of settings testing to find the tire degradation off/on switch. Now I can make tires last without sacrificing too much speed. I will note that in my opinion they could re work the hards a little bit. They grab so poorly that I end up scrubbing of all the extra tire compound anyways due to the fact I'm always getting side-ways in turns because they cant handle too much side load force. So I either burn off the hards at the same rate as mediums or I drive the car so slow that its worth putting on softs and pitting twice as much!

I would go with this idea if we all complied with stopping twice and a chang of compound.đź‘Ť

I can live with the tire wear too.

Never mind the tire wear for a moment. What about the online bug, its a hugh problem! Doesnt affect people at the front for some reason!! I dont see how the races can go on like this.

Just make it a pit window of lap 10-16 like I said. Then make everyone pit in between those laps. You don't have to use mediums after the 1st pit stop. But you'll have to use them for at least 10 laps.
