2014 was a fairly difficult year for me mentally, because after having the best year of school in my life in 2013, I was suddenly pushed into the real world. Now everyone goes through this, I'm not claiming my case is any different to someone else's. For me it wasn't until I left school that I realized I had no idea what the hell I was doing. And that essentially sums up 2014, and most students leaving school ever. So in comparison, 2015 has been a great year.
On GTP I've spent a long time not really fitting anywhere, and I wouldn't confirm I've found a sure footing even now. But participating in Fun Runs in the early stages of this year really helped me find some way to be relevant on this site. I've met a bunch of good people, and continued to grow my friendships I've already made here. On GTPlanet I participated in my first full season of online racing and ended up 2nd in the points (TIRE ECMT), joined the TIRE Admin team. I haven't posted very much, but I'm always around.
Whereas in real life I've improved on last year, I worked in an area I was better suited to, worked a lot more, and earned enough money to put a deposit on my very own Yamaha MT-07 (worth $11000 NZD, but I'm paying $9500). I've also continued writing music and playing music. I finally learned to play guitar properly, built my vocal technique to blend my different registers, and I wrote a lot. And yet I still have nothing to really show for it.
The year has had some low points, but I don't feel the need to discuss them as they are more personal.
But anyway, the people are what make life worthwhile, so I can't forget them (even though I probably will forget to include them), so time for me to tag people.
@SVX: We finally met in person this year after knowing each other 4 years (nearly 5 now), so that was awesome. And we're just about best friends now, so that's even more awesome. And I just managed to write something about you that didn't involve any insults. I don't know if that counts for anything or not.
@vetteman24 : I can't do this without mentioning the Scirocco, so VOLKSWAGEN SCIROCCO!!! While your education takes quite a lot of your time, you've done great at directing TIRE. And I'm happy to be a part of it.
@nascarfan1400: You do a great job being an entertainer, and while you've had your ups and downs, you're a good person. And the fact that you started Fun Runs is so important because without that, I wouldn't have enough reason to make this post.
@BayneHamlin1121: I can honestly swear waifus have been insulted by you more than anyone else I've ever met.
@GTRacer22: You're a respectable driver, which commendable pace. And you're generally just a good person.
@GranTurismo916: You're a fairly rational and honest person. You're often a bit hard on yourself, but you're still a good guy.
@Formidable: You're a funny guy, and I can honestly swear you've been on GTP for longer than you have.
@Angel: You scare people who are far away enough to not have to worry, and while that is awful. It is also commendable.
@Nato_777: Your Flickr page is so good, and you've always been around on Flickr too. And that's always nice to see.
@FrzGT: Your posts on my profile are always a nice surprise.
I've probably forgotten people. I mean, it's excusable when your list has like 50 people, but mine doesn't... I'm just dumb. And reflecting back on this post... I take back what I said about my place, I'd say I'm quite sure footed here now.
Tl;DR: I complain a little bit about minuscule stuff. I complain a bit more, but then stop complaining and say it's perfectly fine, turns out my complaining was pointless. I'm recovering from the minuscule stuff that didn't matter anyway and now I'm adapting to the real world. Thank you people. Skython appears to not understand how TL;DR works. Please, Skython. Shut up.
