Any sign on the race recaps yet?
Today; Race Recaps for last Saturday AND a second post for this Saturday. It's Thursday. I've gotta get going!
Cool ... I always find your story telling abilities in the recaps fascinating ...
With post race interviews and all the drama on and off the track ...![]()
JohnnypensoBeg to differ...
concrete is out? concrete is in? thats bs! theres 2 nights testing gone, i was under the belief that in the other thread somewhere i had read that all concrete is out of bounds, its corner cutting, had madrid had a concrete run off into the chicane i wouldve been able to use that instead of cutting across jonnys nose and almost wrecking him, point being, the concrete shouldnt be allowed in the race as the racing line, as to avoid someone really youll have to drive into the wall, otherwise your gonna effectively dive bomb them into the corner and wreck, but what ever, i will race to the rules, however, mel, i want a decision on all concrete past this race for all tracks, in or out, this i thought was clarified earlier, etc, etc, etc....![]()
Erm, look who you quoted... I said SETH'S question... Not Mel's....
Deep Forest I believe is a special case. While you're technically right in that the concrete is not track, I've never seen it raced any other way, either in a series or online. In this case I believe it just makes so much sense as the field of cars flows through there so much better when using the concrete. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to idealism like this to enhance the racing experience. Off the top of my head, I can't think of another racing corner in the game where this same situation would exist.
i made reference to our incedent at madrid on this subject, had i been able to go down your left you we wouldnt have had the incedent, madrid is a street circuit which doesnt have this issue..... however, its easy to get caught up in the same situation anytime, im just saying this particular corner if ive got the option to avoid an incedent by going left away from the corn i would, but by making the line go that way your taking away that choice, and making the only option to go right, which crosses the racing line...

There's corn on the track?
You're right Dave in that all tracks would make for better racing if there were no guardrails and runoff areas at all corners. All new race tracks are designed that way for that reason and for safety of course. The hope here is that by providing a wider track on entry to this particular corner and some room to run off in the tunnel, guys will have more room and there will be less incidents as a result, and so you won't have to worry about avoiding anything in the first place.
Going two wide and trying to pass leading up to that series of corners and through them, is difficult at best. You're dealing with negatively cambered corners that reduce grip, then a positively cambered corner that increase grip and makes a car want to rotate like crazy. It can be done, depends on your setup, tire wear, and pace of course, but it's not the risky type of pass I normally find myself making. There are far easier places to pass and to me it's not worth risking my whole race just to make a single pass at that point of the track.
So all my practice where I don't cut any concrete sections, wasted![]()
i feel your pain, but i practiced the track in reverse first lmao,
jp, im not wwanting to overtake there, its the wreck i want to avoid,
watch the corn!!!! lmao
I'll bring the soda, you pop the corn. I reckon that running the concrete wouldn't help clean up the racing. If I run the concrete, it's possible to hit the barrier and brake on the inside of the next corner. It will just make it faster. If we don't run any of the concrete, then we have a run off area.
Run off areas on the inside of the track aren't nearly as useful. If you are closely following someone and they have an incident you aren't going to be able to brake in that section of track and swerve left. Using the concrete should make the first lap cleaner, although there are no guarantees, it's still a tricky section. If the history of the series has shown anything so far it's that if we can get through the first lap cleanly, it's down to individual battles and they are much easier to judge from a stewards standpoint, and much easier to remain clean from a driver's standpoint.
We have done a good job on the first lap. Everyone here realizes that races aren't won on the first lap. Most of the problems occur when irl most of the incidents occur at the end of the race.
Two points! I need those two points! Time to spin out in the first corner of the last lap! Wooowah!I'm an idiot.

Yea so you can catch MAFIA Motorsports. Whoop Whoop lolI am such a smart 🤬
It was Jamie! That's who it was!
Yup sure was. I am surprised my team managers didn't pay you a visit after the race![]()
Because I spun?I'd see them, and just be like "Congrats." and start laughing at myself. I think that's the first time I've ever spun at a city course.
In other news, the Race 1 replays are going to be up shortly.
Are the race recaps up yet?
MrMelancholy15You'll see.
You'll see.
I no see.
