Beginning to get a little worried now, the Carousel 1 Corvette i bought for quite a large sum of money hasnt turned up yet, its been on its way for nearly 2 weeks and its only coming from germany.
Oh and its not insured either :ouch:

Heres a few quick shots I took of the 911 GT1 along with with MP4-20 last Wednesday. The first one is quite out of focus, so, uh, nevermind...

Paypal, ive spoken to the seller and he's contacted his courier, it is indeed lost somewhere in the post.

also he said he was gong to send me another.
this is the first real problem ive had buying anything on ebay, and it wasnt the sellers fault, the courier neglected to inform him that only 10% of the package was insured outside germany, they just told him it was "insured"

hopefully i'll get one soon though

I just bought 3 Senna models today, all McLarens by Minichamps and all 1/18. I will post pictures of them in the coming weeks. I will first have to convert them to Marlboro. I got really good price too.

BTW, I am selling 2 models on ebay. Two autoart, one a Merc clk-gtr "original teile" (that blue livery) and a callaway c12 art car (that blue callaway with the lines). If anyone interested, give me a PM and I'll send you the link (it ends on monday I think..).

Hopefully I will be able to sell both of these to sponsor my today's purchases lol.

Got another through the post. 1/43 this time of a Mercedes C Class DTM Presentation car from 1993. Basically a non-livery, silver Merc DTM. Looks really nice and will tide me over until I find a 1/18 D2.

I've got at least 30 cars, about 10-15 are 1:18 and the rest are 1:24. I am gonna try and build a wooden tuning garage to put all my tuned cars in. Other cars will be the d1gp models from http://www.diecast-central.co.uk/. They will also be going in the garage. Their models look very high quality and are only £20

Here is a sneak peek at another conversion I did last weekend. I have managed to convert my Williams FW16 Senna (1:18 Minichamps) to Rothmans livery. It looks much nicer this way. I got this one back in december.

How it originally looked

With a lot of careful modifications

👍

Did Senna race in the Rothmans livery?

What am I talking about, San Marino.. Dur.. My bad!

The rothmans conversion is actually quite straightforward. The hardest part was removing the decals already there. I did this with a exacto knife for the checkerboard on the engine cover and the senna name/3 stripe on the front nose.

For the checkerboard on the sidepod, I used non-acetone nail polish remover distilled with some water and using a Q-tip.

It is key to use Marksman decals for this conversion. That way, you don't have to remove the 3 stripe blocks on the nose or the back wing at all, you just put the decal over as it comes with a white overlay/background to cover everything up.

Then again I've had a bit of experience by now. Have converted a total of 5 models before doing this one. At the moment, I have a total of 9 tobacco livery models. There are 3 more in my collection I will convert sometime soon.

BAR Honda 007 Button (Lucky Strike)
McLaren MP4/20 Rikkonen (West)
McLaren MP4/13 Hakkinen (West)

Yeah, I've never done a conversion before and I wouldnt like to start on the Senna Williams. I treasure it too much. lol

:banghead: It just gets worse!

the seller i ''bought'' the L88 test car from has sent me a replacement car.
Its not a Corvette L88 test car, but rather a racing version of the car and, as some of you know, i only collect road cars (or plain bodied, non-livery cars in this case)

ive sent him another email asking for a full refund as i just cant be bothered anymore, im gonna send that car back and get my money back.

This has been my worst ebay experience yet

That's weird that he would send you something different than what you bought. Good luck.

On another note, I received 2 models today in the mail.

Citroen Xsara WRC - Loeb - Monaco 2004 - w/ night lights (AUTOart)

Ferrari F2001 Michael Schumacher - w/ Marlboro (Hot Wheels)

Will post some pics tommorow.

got a reply yesterday and apparently he thought he sent me his last test car, somehow he got his boxes mixed up. he hasnt replied since so i dunno what hes doing now, but i sent him another email.
he has quite high feedback (98%) so i doubt he would do this on purpose.
awaiting a reply...

oh and....

Nothing spectacular, and an old model, but its fairly well made and i like it. Only cost me £9, but im planning to modify it a little when i get some more paint.

Exterior:

Interior:

After that lot of photos i did a little bit of modifying before i went to bed and took some more pictures the next day when the sun came out:

And now my favourite photos of the afternoon:

You can see where ive painted the door lock flat black and im gonna get some silver for the really small bit just inside that, ive also painted the inside of the intakes (not on the actual door but where the door shuts) black to simulate the duct for the intake.

A few pictures of the F2001 I just received.

Group pictures.

And where they sit in my display cabinet. Some memorabilia from Nurburgring GP 2006 to go with the Ferrari 2006 model (I actually went to this grand prix).
