Some pictures of what I was doing yesterday.

Ayrton Senna '88 McLaren MP4/4

Senna's most successful season to date (I think), he got pole position at most of the races. That year McLaren won 15 of 16 races with Senna and Prost and drivers (and also having the best engine out there).

Ayrton Senna '90 McLaren MP4/5B

The car that won Senna's 2nd championship and was also part of that dramatic incident at Suzuka that year where he crashed into Prost at the first corner.

The "Senna collection" row:

I was watching the '88 season review DVD that I have. These cars had sparks coming out every couple of seconds, it was insane. They must have been super bumpy. :dunce:

how is it, detail-wise?

It's ok. Nothing spectacular. I wish I had the white version with gold rims.

Yeah I remember seeing old vids. Great era of F1 racing back then.

Replicarz on ebay has the Ferrari Superamerica elite for $39 on ebay. For those interested, this is a good deal:

I was going to think, why would anybody repaint an Autoart 1:18 model that would be sacralige or how you spell that word.

There's a guy on another board that did that.

He also did a Mazda 787B that way.

Can't say I would agree with it myself, I really like the liveried racers myself, but each to their own. Some may like it.

Looks very nice. 👍

*I also got into Tamiya modelling kit awhile ago but it consists of the most annoying task one can do in the world- bending a water-based decal to fit around a bucket seat. How is anyone meant to be able to have god-like hands to achieve such a feat? Obviously, I failed in doing so and have not bared to look at it since. Does anyone know of a place I could possibly get replacement decals for these things?

It certainly would be appreciated.*

moving on...

how do UT compare to kyosoho?

UT have got nothing on Kyosho, as they're probably the best value for money any diecast manufacturer can offer, decent prices and better detail than minichamps and Autoart. If it was a bust up between a rare UT and a Kyosho theres no questioning i'd have the Kyosho...

Kyosho have good value for the money. I got my Miura Jota and Miura SV for $55 and $50 respectively, and my M6 for around the same price, and they're more detailed than most Autoart's.

If only I had gotten the LP500R for $55 when I had the chance to. That'd of been one hell of a deal.

I received my Wurz benetton 2 days ago. My Alex Wurz collection is now up to 3 models:

- Benetton B198 (1998)
- Benetton B199 (1999)
- McLaren MP4/18 Test Car (2003)

I will be looking to add his 2007 Williams when Hot Wheels makes it. I am also missing his 1/43 McLaren MP4/20 testcar and 1/43 Williams testcar from 2006. i am actually thinking about making a custom 1/18 MP4/20 like the one he raced at San Marino in '05, it would take another MP4/18 for the helmet and nameplate and a Montoya MP4/20 for the actual model. Maybe I will look at doing that during the summer.

I have also ordered a Sato BAR 007 that I will convert to 555 decals as raced in China. I will probably have that done in a few weeks from now.

im curerntly after a HW MC12, can anyone suggest where i can buy one?

UK

They seem to be quite rare nowadays and go for more than they deserve on ebay.

I suggest waiting until they release the Elite version of it as you're not going to find the regular MC12 anyway.

Well I am quite a keen model collector (maybe not as keen as some of you guys, I don't seem to spend as much money as you guys do). Of course I have the typical Italian v.s Britain cars in my glass cabinet (from ikea). I do have have more than all the ones in my cabinet though.

1:18th Ferrari Enzo most expensive car I own apart from the real one.
Turn Table Mirrored especially for my Enzo till I get the Koenigsegg I am after.
1:18th Porshe Carrea GT (I love this thing)
1:18th Aston Martin DB9 Volante
1:18th Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (I was chasing one of these for ages really hard to get hold of)
1:18th Aston Martin V8 Vantage
1:18th Lamborghini Murcielago
1:18th TVR Sagaris (Hmmmm Sagaris)
1:18th Aston Martin DB7 Vantage (British Racing Green)
1:18th Maserati Spyder

There are some more but I can't remember them off the top of my head.
