Hey guys,

Not trying to turn this into a plug, but I recently started working for a new company here in japan that deals mainly in japanese anime/toys as well as models and die-cast. I know where the die-cast fans hang out on this site so I thought I would give you a link in case you find something that you like.

The website is www.hlj.com

p.s. my new job is sweeeet!

I noticed when looking at a 1:1 bugatti veyron in person, there are 2 exhausts in the diffuser area which aren't shown on Autoart models 👎

Obviously the 1:1 versions got it wrong!

Whoa hey wait. You actually work at HLJ? This could be most fortuitous if you do. 👍

Sorry for the large picture, but it is needed to show where they are.

I take it that's a new grandsport 1:18 or something, those outlets are different. Your red one defo doesnt have them :D

Indeed I do. (sweeet!)

Does that mean GTP members can get discounts on stuff? :P

Anyway I got my first diecast of 2009... a 1/43 one lol
It is a HPI 2005 Prodrive Subaru Impreza WRC, #5 Rally Japan. I got lucky and found this long since out of production model at one of the last remaining hobby shops near me. 👍

I been looking at HPI recently, mainly for their plain matte black Group C and Touring Cars, but quite expensive. Hows the Impreza detail and quality wise?

The Impreza is pretty good IMO, though not quite as good as some of their newer models. I have the flat black Mazda 787B and Sauber C9 already, along with a plain red Lancia 037 and they are all great. Though, the most I paid was around $70 for the Sauber C9. 787B was a bit cheaper for me :P

Hi guys, over Christmas I got myself a Audi R8 (Kyosho) in the white with black side blade. I would post pictures but at the moment I've only got photos of Tommi2000's rather than my own.

I mainly came here to point out that in the photography sub-section a Model Photography Competition has been started. Seeming as some of you guys post pictures of the models I thought perhaps that some of you wouldn't mind giving it a go? Even if you don't have a amazing camera, I've seen good photos in this thread which could quite easily be competition material. Anyway hope to see some of you guys giving it a shot!

Hmm, sounds interesting. Well, good thing I had planned on taking some new pics soon :P

Good to hear.

Just randomly, I was thinking Holdenhsvgtr how many cars do you actually own? Reason why was I was trawling through this thread earlier and came across the posts saying that you'd spent around £4,000 odd pounds on model cars, just wondering how many cars that actually adds up too?

I stopped counting a long time ago I think it's over 200 now.

The scary thing is my collection is rather small compared to others I've seen.

200?? I´ve only got 16, and I´ve already passed the £1000 mark...

200 is only 1/12-1/18 if you wanna include smaller scale then it is closer to 5000.(again stopped counting after a while)

Most of mine are high end or custom built jobs plus there hasn't been many cars out in the last year and a half for me to buy, still waiting for the octavia vRS's and Perkins Bathurst cars

I know what you mean. Not much to buy really. I solely collect 1:18 GT1/GTS cars, and of cars that exist I think I miss four, and two of them are quite expensive (around £500 a piece) and all of them are very rare.
This year though, there should be three new models for me, setting me back another £300... expensive hobby this...

Second. Well for me its UT Model McLarens, getting quite abit more saught after now and its difficult to find the really rare cars (Hawaiian Tropic Harrods) for under £150. Even the common-ish ones go for above £50.

most are in my room and some in the spare room.

Strangely girlfriends haven't minded them at all although saying that most have been physco's

Man your room must be huge! My room can hardly fit the bare essentials in let alone fit the 25 model cars I own in!

It's not that big but there's only a handful on display, the rest are still in the boxes so are just stacked up in front of the wardrobes....in the wardrobes..... On top of them.... Under the bed.... Next to the bed

Ah, I see. All of mine are on display, although slowly after each addition another car gets "kicked out" of the glass cabinet which means one day, I'm going to run out of room. I can't see that day being too far away either. 👎

I am hoping somebody may be able to help with this. I am somewhat obsessed with the mclaren f1 road car and have slowly been collecting here and there minichamps models of the mclaren f1.

I am at the moment trying to get all colours of the 1/43 scale models.

I already have or have found where to get most of the ones I am missing but there are a few I cannot find and any idea where I could find them would be great.

Mclaren F1 road car metallic red (530 133434) <- Most important. Can't find this anywhere. I saw one was sold just 2-3 weeks ago on ebay which I missed somehow. I usually try search weekly for any that pop up.

Mclaren F1 road car "tag heuer" (530 133433)
Mclaren F1 GTR orange 533 164380
Mclaren F1 GTR red 533 164381
Mclaren F1 Black with gold wheels 533 184393 (was included with the minichamps collection book 2008) There were heaps around last year but was not in a position to buy then. Would be looking for it with the book.

This is my mclaren f1 collection thus far. I have doubles of 2 of the 1:87 (red & green). My 1:18 green f1 is completely sealed. Still has the original stickers and plastic strap around it from new. I don't display that one at all.

All of them have their original box bar the orange lm 1:18. I do want to find another 1:18 lm and gtr if i can at some point but as i wrote above. I'm concentrating on my 1:43 collection at the moment.

I also have a 1:64 red f1 coming in as well as a 1:43 platinum grey and some of the hekorsa models I am looking at buying in the next few days. The 1:12 f1 I sold so that is gone now and am waiting for the new silver 1:12 to become available in the coming weeks. I'd love to get the

Other non model f1 stuff i have include driving ambition. A biography of the mclaren f1 basically. As well as x3 posters.
