very nearly finished building a Merc Benz CLK GTR '97 1/18th (or 24th) scale and a Scooby WRC one of the same scale from 2001
just got to get the second coat of spray paint on the Merc and then do the decals, all the chassis and cockpit is done
on the Scooby, all I've got to do is the windows and put the headlights in (easy)
these are the first two models i've built on my own with no help from my dad which I'm pretty proud of :D
I'm pleased with how they are looking just now

Some new additions

That's a great collection of F1 cars you have. I'd love to have a similar setup for my display.
There's one thing I'm worried about though... How does the quality of the R25 compare to the minichamps models?

Thanks mate, I'd say the R25 is noticeably lower in quality on tyres. (Minichamps are all soft rubber, with realistic tyre supplier decal and wheel) The R25's wheels feel plasticy and aren't detailed too well, other than that, the bodywork is fine, I see no faults it. However the Minichamps cars have some details that really separate them from the Hot Wheels. The BMW's exhausts are golded as if used, suspension detail is improved and the livery is immaculate.(it's also limited to 1002 pieces)👍

I bought the R25 because I saw it in a shop for £12, it was worth it. I bought the 2 minichamps for £50 each and they are worth every penny, It's worth paying more. A quick ebay search of the Vettel BMW brings 2 natonal results, priced at £150 and £199. Bit of a raise on £55 :)

Ooh OK, thanks for that. The R25 doesn’t sound too bad then. I was reading through a biante forum a while ago, and found that some people were lightly rubbing the Hot Wheel tyres with sandpaper to get more of a realistic appearance from them. Not sure how well it actually turns out.

The BMW sounds like a real good buy... especially when you consider its limited stock. I guess I missed out on that model… so I’ll have to stick with a BMW F1.08 instead. I’m still keenly waiting for Vettels 1:18 STR3 Italain GP win, and Hamiltons 1:18 MP4/23 (Brazil GP) to show up.
My FW26 is looking a bit lonely on the top shelf alone. The only Formula One model I have so far :P. I’m a bit of a picky person nowadays…

Nice collection there Venom. Just some quick questions.

What is the car
-to the right of the silver zonda (1st picture, 3rd column, complete bottom)
-above the silver zonda (1st picture, 2nd column, 2nd from bottom)

Also what brand are the 787b and mercedes c11?

Is that an m1 anniversary set I spot?

The car above the Zonda F is a Jaguar XJR-15, while the car to the right of the Zonda is a Lotus Sport Exige.

The 787B and the C9 below it are both made by HPI. I do have a C11, which is next to the Audi R10 in the first pic.

And yes, that is a M1 anniversary set :P

Thanks. I thought the one above the zonda was a xjr-15. I didn't realise spark made that one. I ordered the same zonda f as you have just waiting for it to come in.

Mind if I ask what the m1 set is worth? I have a chance of getting one but unsure if it is worth it.

Speaking of prices actually... I'm just astounded at how much the minichamps orange mclaren f1 lm costs. I have been thinking of getting one but it would cost me more than a 1:12 mclaren.

I paid about $80 on ebay for that M1 set about 8 months ago, dunno what it is worth now.

And yeah, UT/Minichamps F1 LM's cost a LOT, as do normal UT F1's and F1 GT's. Race ones also cost silly amounts of money.

And now I got some outside pics of 3 of my 1/43's. Most likely will get more pics tomorrow :)

I need to get myself one of those cala's. Missed one a while back and have forgotten to search again. Have you heard of anybody making the italdesign nazca? Love the lotus sport elise too.

My additions for this week (obviously I am now broke)

Fairly bad picture but oh well.

That fairly much completes my mclaren f1 road car collection.

I am missing the gtr/lm ones and the autohebdo but unless I can find both autohebdo (i can get the red one but yet to come across a silver one) I won't bother.

I may get the hib gtr 96 and 97 but that would because I am making my own hib mclaren f1 at the moment.

Here are some of mines! I am no photographer and sorry for some of the dust =/ My new Nissan GTR R35 from Auto Art. I am very surprised once I took it out of the box, dust went on it...Need to go out and buy some dust off now :indiff:

Can only wish a 1:1 scale next. I have been within 10cm of one a few years ago and that is as close as I will ever get.

The Zonda is by spark models. I'm pretty sure I have seen it on ebay but it is not that common. Search zonda 43 and you will have some come up.

And now a rather large batch of 1/43 pictures...

Easily my favourite in that set has to be the porsche gt1. Could I get a product code for it?

I wish spark made the xjr-15 in a dark colour. I was sure that car was originally presented in a dark blue/purple.

I've heard good things about the lemans spark models.

Number for the 996 GT1-98 street car is #433986803, and it is a Minichamps/Kyosho exclusive.

As far as the XJR-15 goes, I do believe they made a blue version, but I have only seen a few pictures of it. The orange one is by far more common online from what I have seen though.

And yes, Spark race cars are excellent models. In fact, Sparks are among my favorite 1/43's, along with HPI and AUTOart.

Think I managed to find the blue xjr-15

Thanks for that code. I'll definitely have to try find that one. I'm starting to gain interest in collecting some of the lemans cars. I've already filled the cabinet I purchased a week and a half ago :S Time for another soon.

I'm quite liking spark models as well at the moment. Their XJ220 was nicer than the minichamps one. Love the detail on the sagaris and zonda f they make as well.

Hehe, Sparks have great bang for the buck. They are very much like those rare, hand built resin models such as from LookSmart, but they are priced like Minichamps. Once I get a bit of money I will add even more Sparks to my collection, along with a few more HPI's.
