AutoArt Lambo's 1:18 I purchased recently to get me in to the mood of building my (Hornby) Pocher 1:8.

Seems like it got you more in the mood to waste time fooling around with all that expensive photographic equipment you have. Well, maybe not time wasted - that SuperVeloce is just beautiful to look at - and my favourite Lambo.

Actually - now I'm wasting my time looking at it, instead of driving the one I have. In one of my video-games anyway. :)

Nice to see you back, AMG - or maybe I may have missed some of your recent posts. 👍

Harry.

I recently bought a True Scale Miniatures McLaren MP4/6 and I really liked the high detailed model, I want to buy 2 more F1 models and I have to choose from those:

The mighty MP4/4, a must have, of course I will buy Ayrton Senna's one

Brabham BT46B, another classic 'monster' I do have one but it's a low-tier die cast model

Lotus 76, a very nice F1 car, really like the livery.

Brabham BT45A, quite awesome!

Suggestions?

True, though I should reshoot the models in better light setup. I have been 'away' for a while. (see status change on the left below avatar). Health issues are preventing me from playing GT6 and are hampering work too. Visits to the fysio seem to exacerbate the pain.
Decided to take a break from GTP and only recently started working on getting myself some new scale models.

Wrt the Pocher I'm still in the process of waiting on LEDs, SMDs, resistors and what not. Next step is to get comfortable with soldering 2 wires to SMDs that are 2/1/0.5mm is size. My eyes are no longer 18 yrs old so it's a challenge.

@Vitocorp - Sorry can't help you out there, I have no knowledge of F1 to help you out making a choice. I tend to go with a car I like the looks of others decide based on historic impact etc. I don't collect f1 cars either but I like the 3 above.

Get all of them.
Best suggestion ever, unfortunately, right now I can purchase just two of them.
Planning to buy the other two soon or later.

My first choice, no doubt, is the Brabham BT45A, I really like the car itself and the Martini liverylooks great and stylish.
The MP4/4 has a high historic value, 15/16 wins during the season and Senna won his first world championship with it.
The main reason I didn't instantly buy this car is because I already own a MP4/6 (true scale, with Marlboro decal already applied by the seller) and a MP4/5B.
Also, there are optional Marlboro decals to apply and the last time I've applied decals was a COMPLETE disaster, this cigarettes brand restriction is the dumbest law ever made...
I already own the Brabham BT46B and there's also a set with two BT46 (no rear fan) with pilots inside, can be an alternative, altough I prefer purchasing just one, the Lauda's no°1 fan car.
Finally, the Lotus 76 doesn't mean anything to me, but I like the pilot inside and the simple black and gold livery.
My jaw is still down after your Sauber C9 pic!
I don't collect 1:18, sure, high detals and quality but it's too big for my taste.

So what's you technique (or lack of) that made it such a debacle? If they're water decals I tend to soak them in as little water as possible and use a paint brush (for models :) ) to slide them in to place. If they need to go into difficult places Microscale Micro Sol products may help you conform them to the body.

Thx for the compliment on the Silver Sauber, here's a previous one Kouros Mercedes

I've done it just once with the wrong equipment, I was very young back then, like 12 years old, the big problem is...I have extremely high standards, I want to achieve millimetric precision, so if I decide to apply a decal I will probably move it hundreds of time until I'm not full satisfied (quite impossible).
Although I have a good manuality and I'm pretty accurate, I'm also afraid to ruin the decal and or the model, it's a BAD sickness

Hy guys im new and im from Serbia i wanted to ask can you help me.
I have a hot Wheels 1967 Camaro that is in bad shape it doesend have roof and a front window so if you can tell me where to get these parts (only front window) and how to re-paint the car it would rely help me.
ps i wanted it to be a off roof car :gtpflag:

No, seriously. I got that car loooong time ago. Most I ever paid for diecast was my AutoArt Toyota GT One, which I think was just over $80.
Whatever the tag said, it doesn't matter now that you have a car you wanted bad enough to pay for. 1:64 scale cars, particularly Hot Wheels are a different story since their not a big loss in money though still worth every penny.

I've posted this car in here before, but not together:

Satoru Nakajima 1/18 Minichamp + 1/64 Kyosho[/quote]

i have a 1/32 scale slot car of this. currently restoring it.

Paint's crummy, and it's got a dinky pull-back motor.. but hey, seller screwed up the transaction and gave it to me free of charge. :dopey:

That purple Lambo I was painted is still not complete. I think I'll just wait for until a warm spring day passes by so I don't have to keep hauling stuff to the basement.

Free...... is a very good price to buy! :dopey:

Nice. 👍 I love Senna(who doesn't!), but Nakajima was a big national hero when I was a kid, so I was partial to mine. :D

I have a question for some of you guys in the states, where do you normally order your cars from, I want to find a dealer I can work with on picking up some cars but can't always pay $300 off the bat.

Well currently on evil bay they go for anything between Eur 260-340, 350-450 USD. I paid a lot less in 2013.

I've mostly ordered off a couple of websites in Germany: CK Models and Modelissimo. I've never had any problems and it was always well packaged.

No, no, no, no, no.

I should never enter this discussion; she's a time-sucking 🤬 .

I see the war of the Loti is on. Seriously - it's time we started saying 'Loti' 'stead of 'Lotusus'.

A quick browse - and way too many shots that deserve likes - so thanks to all.

@AMG - sorry to hear about the setbacks in your health - yes I did notice periods of 'absences', if we could call them that, but I thought you were off on yet another photo safari somewhere in the depths of the Congo, or maybe even coastal Greenland. :D Always good to see your pics (let alone the saliva-inspiring models).

@a6m5 - how dare you. I'm drowning in jelly.
