The insides of an expensive FrontiArt - extremely difficult to take apart compared to an Exoto or CMC.

j/k.

Asked a fellow DX-er to print new wheels for me. Now need to figure out how to disconnect the disc brake and the hub from the wheel. I suspect they glued these parts :(

Makes me feel bad after just dumping the best part of £1k into these in the last week

I always wanted a FrontiArt, but dem prices... Are they really that much better than a Spark or TSM?

See post #9356

This McLaren has an inside to look at - my TSM has black windows and therefore no way you can look inside. Pretty sure its just an empty shell in there.

I picked up this Maisto 2015 Mustang at a Hobby Lobby today but i'm not sure what scale it is.

The Sesto Elemento in the bottom picture is a 1/64.

I do believe only the original release TSM McLaren P1 lacks an interior. Other resin TSM's I have seen on diecast forums had full interiors, including my TSM-Fujimi Ferrari F50 GT. F50 GT was $200, roughly half of what a FrontiArt model costs.

Anyone know of any highly detailed (stuff like opening up or removing body panels) 1:43 scale Le Mans or F1 car models?

I'm going to sell all of my models, or at least attempt to, pretty shortly. All the funds are going to a 1:1 GT86 :)

I'm going to try and sell all of them locally before I try it on GTP or DXchange.

I hope the 1:1 GT86 has opening doors!

Good luck with the model sales :)

This is a 1/40 scale Maisto Power Racer Mercedes-Benz SL500 (R231). I'm not too keen on Maisto's Power Racer models since most of them have erroneous design lines and odd proportions.

However, in my opinion, this is one among the few that actually looks decent.

I was about to buy a Corvette C7, but its side mirrors look weird, and it doesn't have a carbon roof.

I told myself, "Alex, you have no more space for diecasts! You're having trouble finding places to display them as it is! No more!"

Say hello to my new HPI Ford RS200!

RS200.jpg

HPI RS200's are always really expensive Like usually $120 + by the time it gets shipped into NZ. So when I saw one in NZ, I was very interested, and when I noticed it was just $57, I was convinced that karma was simply rewarding me. I mean, $60 for a diecast of one of my most super mega favouritistnest cars ever, from a really top of the line manufacturer... You don't pass it up.

Also had something a little different arrive today, some 1/64 Auto World cars. I wanted just the 1961 Dodge Dart Phoenix initially, but because every single place that sold it on its own refused to send to New Zealand (and these aren't available in NZ either, like most things)... I had to buy a 6 car pack that came with the Phoenix.

That's it there. These are actually quite nicely detailed. The pack also came with a 1966 Impala SS; 1969 Firebird Trans Am; 1967 Mustang GT; 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger; and what appeared to be a boat with wheels (Cadillac DeVille). The Dart Phoenix is pretty much just going to be a nice little car to put on my desk. I might put another one or two of these Auto World cars in there too.

I didn't take a picture of the Dart Swinger because I'm lazy. Though I probably should have because it's quite awesome.

That's actually a pretty cool Porsche collection. It made me remember how the 911 GT1 went through a process from ugly (1996-1997) to awesome (1998). :P

I like it how the GT1 cars resembled the street cars and if you look at what GT1 has become it has only so little do to with the streets now a days.

I think you're right - the 2013 models seem to have an interior. I'm not too pleased with mine, wheels don't turn and tbh the 'brackets' that hold the wing are IMHO oversized and uberchromed. Ugh. Not one of my better decisions to buy this one.

If' I'd do it again I'd take the closed wing version.

Well, I plan on waiting to see how TSM's diecast P1 is. Fully opening model too.

Can never really find the time to take proper pictures... A quick cell phone photo of today's grabs. Found the Huracan at Walgreens and the Viper at Rite Aid.
