Aw man, those are really nice. I don't often see 905 diecasts, so those suprised me. The fact that you have a matching pair is the icing on the cake. Good job. :)đź‘Ť
Thanks!
IIRC, Other than Spark, only Norev made a 905 in 1/18. As far as 1/43, I dunno who else made one besides Spark. Anyway another pic of some stuff:

^ Going to redo it in a couple days though, once my next 1/43 arrives :sly:

Man, that is a great set of Le Mans cars you got there. Too bad I can't mind steal things otherwise they'd be all mine by now. Digging the MG and that white and blue car (the one with the number 22, I knew its name but I forgot it, it's a gas powered car IIRC). The Caddy and the BMW aren't bad either.

In return, have one of my 1\43 cars, it's not as glamorous but it'll have to do. It's a Dong Feng 988, which I like to think it's Chinese for "really old Citroen ZX sedan".

Not sure if the flash worked properly, but at least the car can look bright.

I've bought couple of Japanese Taxis in 1/64 scale. It's nice to add a little variety to your collection sometimes. :)

Well, mine's Chinese, so it is a bit different from that. Nevertheless, you don't find many Chinese brand cars around much. On the other hand, pretty much all the cars you find these days are made in China, haha. This one was a part of a collection of 1\43 taxis, from all around the world.

A lot of you guys collect 1:43 scales- why is that? They seem excessively more expensive than the cheaper 1:18's and 1:24's, which I collect, yet they are smaller. The most I've ever paid for models is $80, and that was for 1:24 Action NASCAR. Is it just because there is a better selection of 1:43's to choose from?

To be honest, I just don't have the room for 1:18s.

Variety and size are a couple of the main reasons a lot of people go for 1/43. Cost is another big one, as a comparable 1/18 to say, the Spark Peugeot I just got, would run around 2-3 times as much. Most Spark 1/43's range between $50-$70 USD, while a Spark 1/18 is around $150-$180 USD. Minichamps, which generally produces less detailed models, are usually around $40-$60 USD, while their 1/18's are in the $100-$200 range (depending on model). Your typical Spark, AUTOart, or True Scale Miniatures 1/43 is considerably more detailed externally than your typical $20-$40 1/18. The bulk of detailed 1/43's lack opening parts though. And the ones that do tend to look a bit odd next to their non-opening counterparts.

That was my suspicion- I'm just being a cheapskate over here with my Maistos and Bburagos. :sly:. I think the most detailed car I have is a Bburago Countach.... which I found for $12 at a vendor's mall.

I personally collect 1/36 scales, but that's because I can easily find those for a cheap price. The Kinsmart made 1/36 diecasts have a great variety of cars to collect.

So I got an early Christmas present from my parents, a 1/18 1978 Lamborghini Miura SV by Welly. This is a slightly older model and isn't the best one I've gotten from them. If I were to be bruttaly honest than the paint on the model has a few scuff marks and I may have to fix that at somepoint, if anyone has any ideas about how to do that I'd like some help please. Overall it is a pretty good model for 40 USD, but the 1/18 Miasto Bentley Continental Covertible I have is slightly better quality, both in detail and in paint. For some reason there is a decetly done engine but I can't look at it without taking the car apart. Anways, I will put up better pictures after vacation.

The scuff marks are on the other side of the car at the front corner of the car and under the "Bertone" emblem as well as just under the passenger window.

Because I can't get them in 1/18 scale.

And on that subject

Got my mate phils 2012 spa 24hr car

I'd like to try modifying one of my models to have headlights that turn on. Just need to get some tiny light bulbs and switch.

Yep, have a look on e.g. eBay for either fibre optics, prewired SMDs or 3mm LEDs. If you have soldering skills you could get unwired SMDs. You'll need some resistors and battery power too. I've just restarted my Pocher build again and spending loads of time getting the lights wired and working. There's a thread on the build somewhere here in the Rumble strip. Haven't updated it in yonks.

PS there are prewired front & rear light sets out there but I have no detailed info on it as I'm scratch building my wiring harness.

I discovered Spark and Minichamps make Delahayes, Delages, Talbot Lagos, and other arte decĂł-era cars. I fear a wallet meltdown incoming. Help?

There is no help. First it starts with one Spark, then two, then a whole heap of them just randomly appear in your collection. I suspect they coat the boxes in cocaine....

You're not helping, you know?

I've since been browsin' to see what else they have, and damn me, they have an awesome selection of these things. I don't think I'll be able to resist at least one Delahaye, one Talbot and one Delage. Maybe two. Or four.

Dammit.

They're made from crappy inferior metal, paint rash within a month and parts fall off for no apparent reason.... Does that help?

j/k

Lol. No. I was actually thinking someone would tie my hands or something. Eh, a big deposit is coming from the magazines this friday. Delahaye or Delage?

Trust me, I've already seen all those, as well as some from Spark and even Ixo, who have some really good models for not a lot of dough.

I've been told of steer clear of 1:43 precisely because of this. So far I had been able to do it, you know, I picked up the occasional cheapo thingie here and there, and took advantage of Ixo's offer of the week deal and stuff... until I found out about these things. I'm scared.

Welp, that how I felt after discovering the wild world of Tomica Limited Vintage cars. I fear that my wallet would implode from importing a crapload of stuff from Japan. We're on two different boats of the same company, I think.

And these Minichamps don't help, not to mention that my parents allowed their money to be spent on a yellow 1\43 Miura and a black Alfa Romeo Montreal, both collectors items. There's a shop in a city near mine that has all the Minichamps you could've asked for, and 1\18 scale models to boot. God, do I tremble every time I see that damm shop...

THEY'RE NOT 1/64!!!!
[/bff]

Lol, unlike most of you in the HW thread, I do have a bunch of old and new 1:43 stuff. Not a single one of them touches this price range, though.

We're on two different boats of the same company, I think.

Believe me, inb that regard we're pretty much on the same boat. I'll be having a TLV shipment most likely at the start of next year or so, when the postal service regularizes over here.
