Ignition 1/18. Car doesn't matter because:

Profound sadness. I'm waiting on seller's reply at the moment. :(

And that is one of the main reasons I dislike window boxes with 1/18 models...
Sucks to see a model (or the box) arriving with damage. :(

Thankfully, Rob delivered some fortunate news which was that black plastic piece can come apart like that and can be reassembled.

He offered to send me another one, which I'm guessing means one of items in stock will no longer have the plastic box.

This finally arrived yesterday:

My first Auto World 1/18 model, but am impressed by the level of detail this car has. Fully detailed engine and interior, suspension on all 4 wheels, plus a locking rear diff and the driveshaft rotates when the rear wheels spin.

EDIT: Also found out the headlights rotate to go from covered to exposed.

A first-time brand for me, because I had never heard of it. However, by this very first time, I am already very impressed;

TSM Model 1:43 Chevrolet Corvette "Spirit Of Le Mans '76"

This car was a bit special for me; as I was traveling around the scale model stands at Autoclassico yesterday, I stopped at one of them to buy a 4-car set of Greenlight models (which can be seen in full on the 1:64 thread). As I was making my choice, the TSM caught my attention, but the price of 35 euros was clashing with my intentions of buying the Greenlight set as well, so I let it go and went back to the Greenlight section to pick the set. However, my parents, who were with me at the time, decided to play a little surprise on me and bought the car on my back while I wasn't looking. When we got back to our car after seeing it all, my parents gave me a black bag and told me "Consider this our birthday gift to you" (some may not know, but I had my birthday on September 30th, and I had not chosen any particular gift back then). I was simply ecstatic, and couldn't really believe my eyes when I say the TSM box peek out the bag. :D

Since I haven't heard of this brand before, is it any good? Does is anyone here familiar with it?

TSM is roughly on par, if slightly better than Spark. Basically they are about as good as you can get for under $100 USD (short of finding a LookSmart or BBR for sale).

So in essence, they are one of the best bets possible for a guy like me, who can't quite afford to blow over $100 on a 1:43 model, correct? I did see some Spark models around while I was roaming the parts/scale models section, but I'm not sure if someone had LookSmart and/or BBR models as well. The Corvette's uniqueness (to me, at least) was really the deciding factor, moreso than the brand, but I was still curious about it. I've also heard that they (TSM) will make a 1:43 model of the 2017 Ford GT, which sounds very interesting...

I recently ordered a 1/18 scale 997 GT3 RS (Norev) from Germany and it arrived completely destroyed. It broke off from the base in transit and was just flopping around the box. Everything that can break, broke. I was sad. And I lost the money because I didn't buy shipping insurance.

Most international shipping offers some form of insurance though from what I have used. No way the seller could refund you, or even exchange it somehow?

Anyway a pair of new additions...

Don't ask how much I paid for that 1/43 Spark though lol....

Can we play the price is right for the first 10 submitted guesses?

I'll go first: $420.

That's horrible! I was pretty to hear the rattling in my parcel when I brought mine home, but several cracks in a plastic sheet hurt a lot less than a broken model. I'm sorry to hear this. Can the model at least be salvaged for other works of art?

How's the M3? I read that they had to pull production because they royally screwed up the proportions at first. Has that been fixed? Does it look good and correct?

Seller won't give a refund and I don't blame him, there was no better way to pack the model unless he opened the box and strapped the car down or something, and risk damage that way. The parcel was marked as fragile, ultimately the damage was caused by poor shipping. UPS wouldn't take responsibility, claiming that the damage could have occurred internationally and I had no way to find out where the damage happened. At that point it wasn't worth pursing.

It was in rough shape and I ended up giving it away to my brother. I'm slightly picky with my cars and the condition they are in, hell even dust bothers me! So a damaged car would have been hard to keep in my collection. As weird as that sounds.

In any case, I ended up buying an Autoart version of the same car to replace it.

Did he include the free sweets?

Nab, not THAT much lol

This M3 is fine, it was their E90 M3 that had issues.

Nope. The box was just big enough to fix 3 Ignition boxes and 2 sheets of foam. There was unfortunately no room to fit the after-party surprise bag.

I'm a sucker for both the McLaren MP4-4 and cheap stuff so, to add to my roster...

I got this one from my local post office and will be buying as many as I can!
Welcome to the club then :D:

Dio mio, two VGT scale models? You have to be blessed by the Pope himself to have such a kind wallet. :P

Joke aside, great set of purchases, just the combined price of the AA and the CMC models must've not been an easy one to stomach. But the quality is fitting of the pricetag, all things considered, because they both look gorgeous (especially the LFA, that is wonderfully detailed). 👍 Oh, and that will be the first time I've seen a true photo of Norev's Alpine VGT model, looks nice enough, I'd say. Too bad you cannot buy a bigger version with moving brake flaps... maybe one day, Norev?

I knew someone else had them here!

Thinking about subscribing to them (free stuff woo!) But not 100% sure.

They weren't that expensive. Betting that it isn't even half the price somebody spent on a very hot rotary .
The CMC was one of the last Ferraris available, it was discounted. Sadly there won't be any more of these beauties (thank you bburago :grumpy:).
The Alpine is really nice, only that the headlights aren't clear. I'll try to get a few more pictures under sunlight as the interior also features the tripple screen setup ( kudos to Norev for that). As for the bigger model, I'm waiting to see what AA will do with the Bugatti VGT. Maybe that will feature some active aereo.

Edit:
@legacyMACHINE there surely are better models out there, but getting them all singularly would be a pain in the buttocks. So it's quite nice to have them in one collection.

Cmc have just announced the 250 GTO so they are still coming

lol, since no one wanted to guess anymore... I paid $171 for that Furai, which makes it my 2nd most expensive 1/43 after the $176 I paid for an HPI Lexus IS-F Racing Concept. That is well into the price range of BBR and other fancy hand made Italian resins lol... That is over 3x the original retail price of $50 back when it came out, and for me, a silly price to pay for a 1/43 lol
What is funny is my two BBR's were each under $100 lol...
Anyway I will have to take pics of my recent models soon.

So what makes you want to pay that much for the Furai? Is it its scarcity that attracts you?
Because I find the car unusually sexy lol
I had originally planned on getting it years ago, but I sorta never did. Then prices shot through the roof when it was reported that the car burnt to a crisp lol...
