You may be tired of hearing me tell you this, but if I can play the talk-you-down position once more, that's totally not a good enough reason to get this. I'd save it to fund the bigger toys.
No need to, I already know I have no reason to buy it other than having something "relateable." But not enough that I own one. I'll stick to the 1/64 - 1/24 scale models. If only there was a cheaper model of it.

Anyone here ever book a car directly from GT Spirit? I booked a car in October for a November model, was charged for it, but no bookings show on my account. I'm having a hard time contacting the company about it also.

I'll keep waiting, see if something arrives, just curious if anyone else has had issues.

Never had any trouble ordering from GT Spirit directly myself. I have odered 5 models so far, with 2 more on pre-order. Sometimes their site is a bit slow to update orders though.

Anyway this showed up:

I believe it's what you call an AutoART. 1999 Burn after Reiding.

T'was $170 shipped too!
That may be slightly cooler than my 22B re-release, but you are probably well aware of the coolness that already resides within my collection :sly:

Well, that's your standard, and you have years of 1/18s to back you up. Let's not forget I'm a newb here after all. :P

Anyway, I was pretty cheesed when I found out I missed out on not one- but two opportunities to score Exoto's Penske Corvette Stingray Roadster for cheap. Recent auctions ended just over $100, and yet these retail for $250.

How much is the 22B re-release going for? I bought the TME back in 2001 and regret never going for the 22B afterwards. They just belong together, it's the law.

Around $150-ish USD, depending on where you buy from. I paid about $180 after shipping for mine.

I paid 45$ for the Monte Carlo Rally one back when it was first released ages ago. :P

I hear you on that. A lot of goodies I like were extremely affordable closer to the turn of the century. It pays to get into the game early on.

I stopped collecting some 10 years ago if not more, before AA got crazy with their prices and the market kind of took off. Some of the stuff I bought back then now has crazy value now, but I can't see myself getting rid of them. I bought Colin McRae's 2003 Ford Focus for 20$ because no one wanted it, it's probably worth 5x more nowadays!

Paceman? More like, Pacegiant, am I right? Hahahaha...

...haha. Oh boy that pun was more awful than the Mini Clubman VGT video trailer.

That aside, it's a rather nice casting, that Welly's casting. The head and tailights are correct, the body doesn't seem to have any major errors and the Paceman's :( face is definitely accurate. I don't usually see Welly models of that size around here, so those photos are already a bit of an unicorn for me in terms of car spotting...

Just got the latest F1 car collection magazine, will post pics soon. Actually quite happy with this one, I waited 5 days to buy it because I didn't have the money to get it when I first saw it.

Edit

1992 Williams FW14B ('Red 5', driven by Nigel Mansell)

A few paint errors (top of airbox has a grey smudge, front of airbox has missing paint, space behind mirrors has random blue dots) and the tyres have that wierd plastic nipple that you'd see on the bottom of a bottle, but not bad for £8.

They're selling those here as well. They're decent for the price but Formula 1 has never been my cup.

That's understandable, I'm a fan of them so I pick them up as much as I can. Even if the car doesn't really interest me.

Looking at you, Mercedes W05.

which number of release is that?, here just 3 have been released, they say they will be 60 models it will be great to know the models in advance

That's odd, I've got the Mercedes W05 instead of the R25, that's in 2 issues time for me.

Guess they scatter the model's releases.

Edit: snap. I learned of AutoART's 2005 release of the plain body DBR9. Now I don't know if I should prioritize this over the Vantage GTE.

Here are my impressions based off the photos I've looked at:

Pros:
  • The absence of a livery means we can clearly see all the aggressive forms on the front half of the car. The vents on the bonnet and side fenders give off the impression of a fearsome shark.
  • While not as exciting as the Vantage's colourful body, a plain body is clean and I can appreciate how glorious metallic paint looks.
  • Cheaper than the Vantage!
Cons:
  • For some dumb reason, I really dislike how the rear looks. To me it's lacking a little something. I was comparing photos of it to a stock DBR9 coupe and even the latter has the sparkle to look attractive. The Gulf livery looks just fine because it has an orange stripe going down the center to give it a little more substance, but plain grey TBH looks a bit bland back here.
  • AutoART proudly announced (directly on its box) that it is 100% sealed. I didn't mind the fact that my Ignitions are sealed, but somehow clearly stating it is so seems like a let down.

Then there's the V8 Vantage GTE I also happen to like (photos again):

82530_1.jpg

Pros:
  • ooooh colourful!
  • has a livery to keep it interesting to look at from every angle.
  • I don't know what's up with the side skirt but that looks kind of cool!
Cons:
  • Don't got the aggressive grills.
  • Cost a lot more!
  • Body wraps mean no glossy paint to look at.
  • Also sealed. (I'm guessing)

Which one do you guys like more?

Vantage GTE. Unless you find a liveried version of the DBR9 lol...
And all Sparks, like Ignitions, are sealed resin models. Though, they are quite nice as long as you don't pay too much for them.
Anyway a bunch of group pics I just took, along with a few 1/43's I never took good pics of:
