Congrats, Jaco. IMO Otto makes the best looking bimmers in 1/18 scale.

I picked up a 919 Hybird Le Mans 2015 Winner a couple days ago, here are the pics:

Now if you ask me what gives me nightmares it's any messed up decal.
The ridicoulous part is that is barely visible and I'm sure 99.99% of models out there got at least one or two so I should tell myself "buying a new one will NOT solve the problem".
But the idea of getting a new 956 instead of any model car in my wishlist is still present in my fussy brain... :grumpy:

i hate myself for this.

You know what's worse?

Rear wings that are crooked, slanted or angled incorrectly. I have an expensive model that was installed crooked. Because it was fastened with glue, I broke it off, causing the decal on the wing to crack all over.

Heck, I'll just post it.

Looks fine to me :P
For the same reason I'm terrorized to glue 2 of my Spark models' rear wing
My 312 T4 Exoto has the same issue for the front wing...but still, I hate those imperfections less than cracked decals and I dunno why...

I will soon get a chance to add more cars in my collection, since the pool of "good looking modern Group C/LMP/GTP cars" is over...except for some models...

I want to add some 1:18 Formula 1.

RULES:

NO FERRARIS! (I already start with 3 1:18 F1 Ferraris, and 2 of them are Exotos)
mid 80 to mid 90 cars (for now)
choosing 1 per constructor
price range 50-150 €
when possible models with open parts unless there's a huge price gap
I really prefer models without drivers inside, but if the car looks great...

Really like this Minichamps Brabham with Ayrton Senna

aaaand this multiple option Williams FW14 Minichamps/Exoto and even Quartzo

Suggestions?

and @AOS- , please stop posting p0rn <3

Someone said BT52

I really need more F1 cars though, as I only have a couple others besides these 3...
Mostly Minichamps models I see, about the FW14 I will buy the Patrese version as well.
1348

Benetton and Jordan will be nice addition as well, if possibile, the Autopolis Benetton
There's a pretty cheap Williams FW17 made by Onyx, looks very nice!
Annnd the hyper-priced MP4/2B made by solido....
MSZ
I have zero Formula 1 models in my collection. I know how additive F1 is and my budget is limited.
Currently I can buy 2 of those, maybe 3...and only if I'm lucky with eBay prices :P

And the main reason I said "no Ferraris"

Possibly the most overpriced model around / ever made.

Still a very nice model. 👍

I could've pointed you to FX Models that is making (yet another) overstylized Aventador and pricing it over $1000

...but speaking of model quality alone, I completely agree with your statement. I did initially turn this down, but low-production numbers and "artsy" liveries suckered me in. :P

Aye, you won't catch me saying Minichamps is crap. But whatever people have been smoking to dare ask for such prices... I want some of that!

No worries, I can do that in your stead. Minichamps does mid-tier quality work. *rocks the boat*

I'm guessing it's the "Limited Edition" and nobodyreally knowing how many were produced that drive people to go crazy.

Yeah, it is very easy to overpay for Minichamps models. Especially for dealer edition models and race cars. Also Minichamps has somewhat inconsistent quality, with many of their older models being more detailed than some of their newest releases. They also have an extremely overpriced 1/18 resin line that is only on par with Spark in terms of details.

Perhaps that's to bank on milking as much as they can from diehard Minichamps fanboys who don't know and/or don't acknowledge outside brands.

I saw one of this AutoArt Ford GT at Highpoint the other day:

Ugh, I want it sooo bad. It was discounted from $225 to I think $180. My birthday is coming up next month, and I'm hoping that I get some money:P. If I do have the money and the car isn't there, I will be pissed. Unless I can convince my mother into getting it for a birthday present, but she's already getting me an Iphone 6S, so... not likely.

Sharp looking GT3! I have a dealer edition in red myself:
Very cool, red was the color I wanted but I have the 997 GT3 before it in red. A dealer edition by Norev. Unfortunately, the colors aren't very diverse on any of the non-RS 1/18 scale GT3s that I know of. Only yellow, silver/ grey, red or white.

(My only picture at the moment of the 997)

And for fun, some more of my GT3s.

One half of my collection focus is all in the decals. Don't jinx me!
We're on the same boat, and now the number will increase,I'm NOT planning to get Exotos. :P
Well, luckly, seems like the issue is pretty uncommon, this particular model has it, every single F93/A listed.
I don't like decals because they are pretty unreliable, they can peel off, crack get yellow over time or oxidize...sometimes you can't really tell the status of a model by simply looking at the photos, and most models are old releases, so all pre-owned stuff and we don't really know in what condition the model was kept.
This is the curse of racing car collectors like me, street legal cars don't have this issue but overall, they are boring to collect (sorry everyone )

I will turn those words around once my S30 arrives.
I do like some street cars but I don't want to spend money on those, unless for a super bargain price.
My current street legal lineup it's basically full of Bburagos I got when I was a child and even back then my collection was like 90% race cars, it's just a personal choice since I can't get everything :P
