(I was going to wait for somebody else to post first, so I could avoid double-posting, but now it seems that it's impossible, so I'm going to double-post. Sorry!)
Again, I bought this over 2 months ago, but it's only recently that I have finished taking pics of it. This, unlike my previous models, was bought at Hung Hing Toys. (Hat tip to
@RCKakashi14 for posting about it on GTP) I was looking for a 1/64 Alfa Romeo 8C, and while there was one when I was there, it costed almost 24 USD, which was way beyond what I could afford for a 1/64. Instead, I found a Lamborghini Murcielago and a Ferrari 288 GTO, both in 1/43 and made by Hot Wheels Elite. Each one costed 149 HKD (~19 USD), which, to me, was rather cheap, so I just bought both of them. I actually wanted the AUTOart 1/18 Murcielago LP640 in orange, but it was sold out, so I had to make do with a 1/43 version.
The car itself is of high quality, with no damages or mistakes visible. While it isn't as realistic as the Minichamps version, as evidenced by the brake discs and engine bay, I actually prefer this one more, as its headlight housing is more beautiful, and its spokes are actually spaced. I'll try to sum up what is impressive with the car, and what is slightly disappointing in the following:
What is impressive:
- Their abundant use of metal transfers and photo-etched parts (for vents, etc.), in and out of the car.
- The presence of seatbelts and buckle clips.
- The detailed interior.
- The fact they decided to recreate the windshield wiper meticulously instead of using a generic one.
- The detailed engine bay.
- The perforated brake discs.
- The fact ventilating fans are featured behind the rear air vents.
What is slightly disappointing:
- The slightly tilted side mirrors.
- The reverse light was a photo-etched part instead of a clear plastic merged with the taillights.
- The lack of underbody details.
- The brake discs and calipers kind of wobble when the car is pushed.
- The lack of decals to recreate the Lamborghini fonts on the brake calipers.
- The fact it features 3 pedals instead of 2, which is really odd, considering that the real one doesn't have a clutch, I guess.
- The excess plastic on the rims.
Enough of the talking, here're the photos:
Consider this to be my Christmas gift to you all. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!
