The Ferrari one is pretty cool, only I can't see something like that being that way in real life. The 206 makes me want to cry, its sad seeing your favorite rally car in that kinda shape.

here ccx just for you since we were talking about slr's a few days ago :P comparing the CMC to Maisto

as you can see the doors on the maisto are "doglegs" where as on the CMC that uses gas struts.CMC also has full leather interior and carpeting and real alloy wheels and a hell of a lot more detail.

Thanks for the comparison. I did wonder about what level of detail you're paying for when buying from top-end companies compared to the cheaper models.

Speaking of cheaper models, I spent £11 on a 1:16, Bburago Fiat 500 L yesterday. Normal sort of detail from Bb, but I don't know of anyone else who makes Fiat 500s, so it'll have to do.

revell make fiat 500's :P

ok, can someone do a list saying which is the best company

e.g.:1 AUTOart
2 BBR
3 EXOTO

of all major 1:18 companies?

IMO

CMC tied with Exoto
BBR tied with Autoart Signature line and Classic Carlectables
GMP tied with Carousel 1, Highway 61, and some AutoArt Millenium models
Rest of Autoart here and Minichamps

Hot Wheels Elite

Maisto, reg. Hot Wheels

my first model was a bburago dodge viper GT2-kit and since then, i've had a bburago ferrari f50 kit,eb110 and diablo models-this is a sad day- well whatever they announced bankruptcy

they went bankrupt at the end of last year,i remember going into my local model store and asked them why they didnt have new kits and that they were becoming rarer to get,so i bought all the ones the shop had

oh and heres my S55 AMG project ;)

this is how it came,to scale the wheels are 24inchs!!!
pict0113rb8.jpg

wheel choices are ether viper SRT-10 wheels,or EVO 7 wheels which look alot like S65 wheels :D
took me an hour and a half to get off,by having to force them out by hand but that didnt work,so then took the model apart and cut the wheel off from the inside and then strip the plastic stubs off the axle.

first up are the viper wheels, these fit extremely well and dont look too bad.

next the S65 lookalike wheels, these imo really suit the car but they arent wide enough :(

need to find glue and try and use some of the plastic stubs to use as spacers, tempted to take the tv's out of the interior and maybe a few other things :)

it's such a shame-why would they have gone bankrupt? im sure theyw ould have sold their models well
