The Tsukuba track is in my opinion the best drift track on the game. Sazuka east and Autumn Ring mini are just behind it in my rankings.
Quite like Clubman stage 5 reverse as well. (one to be tried, difficult to judge the corners, separates the men from the boys ;) )

Yes i would agree with you mate. However everyone drifts Tsukuba, and Autumn ring is up there too, that is why my vote for a unusual section of Fuji. It is aoddd section and for the most part uphill, I am not saying that it is a really hard section but the elevation change just might add to the fun in some manner.

Sorry but for a car to be drifting left, then to turn right to drift a right hander, the car MUST at some point face straight...

Can someone from ACN back me up on this?

Chris.
Well someone is taking things a bit literally aren't they  LOL Yes the car has to go THROUGH the straight ahead position but it should NEVER ACTUALLY be straight. Transitions are either done off throttle, in which case, how is power going to matter? Or it should be on full throttle, wheels spinning, in which case, again, how does power affect it?

And Tuz, does this look like I've never seen drifting nor understand the physics of it? Or have I missed something?

The question is, am I 'straight' at any point? No. I go through the 'straight ahead' position while transtitioning, but the car is never ACTUALLY STRAIGHT in a way that would enable be to use power to accelerate more than someone with less power. All transitions are either on throttle with heavy wheelspin or off throttle, in which case power is not part of the equation.

He means the car should at no point stop drifting to go straight, then initiate again. Which is what happened on Suzuka after turn 1.
EXACTLY! Thanks god I'm not the only one who gets it.

Ahh I see what you mean now, but I still beleive that power will affect the balance of the competition.

I tell you what, I'm going to run drift laps in two identical vipers, one with 400bhp, one with 900bhp, then lets compare the laptimes :) Sound fair?

How about Deep forest, from turn 3 to the uphill? It's an interesting track, bumpy, not so wide, with elevation, a fast and technical corner at the end, some slow corners too.

What you guys think?

TwinTurbo has proved me wrong :)
as long as the track avoids any sort of long straight then hp shouldn't be an issue, unless people are using less than 400ish hp.

Chris.

I'm with the comfort hard tyres restriction; More Fun, better angle , more fair.

I vote for the Nurburgring GP/F section; a tight corner at the start ensures that more power will be useless at the start and the section has no straights at all very nice section and tricky to seperate the boys from the men...

This is the D1 GP section of the Fuji , i like it too but if used power restrictions should be placed due to the long straight at the start and the need of entry speed (for low HP cars) to have a good drift

Hope to see this tourney progress from the first one... Has anyone won that one yet?

to make this simple and clear.

if the track has any part that cannot be linked.....hp will have all the advantage in the straightaway

if the track must be linked fully......the layout of the car/weight of the car/skills of the driver will make the differences.

and just to add, anything other than comfort hard in this comp will just cause disasters. not going to explain in details but you decide.

if needed i can volunteer to create demo runs for some of the track layouts you have in mind. if will give a much better idea of how it will be than lets say.....looking at a map layout.

as far as i can see.....the tracks layout suggested have sections that include straights, unless i'm looking at it incorrectly. btw, dont give me the manji down the straight bull.

Great idea, I'd offer to do it but I have no capture card.

Indy #2 doesn't ;) and also happens to be a savage layout :)

maybe i should say most of them, just take alook at tsukuba and that straight away that accelerates all the way to over 200km/h+ for some cars!

From now on i agree with TTCH and seigo their veiws and opinions are exactly the same as what i wanna see in this comp.
I cant beleive people actually tried to argue the high hp point
As far as i can see the only layout with a straightaway is tsukuba and this needs to be changed.
We are playing a racing simulator so can we PLEASE!!! simulate real world rules and conditions.

And cmon people vote for Indy#2 this is a killa layout just try it and you will see:tup::)
It is a nice layout i agree ... but its just a flat surface ! We need some challenging bumps ...
I suggest this section from Deep Forest :
from the end of the uphill small part right after the first cornet to the straight section before the downhill tunnel THAT WILL BE A KILLED LAYOUT! i'm gonna try to shoot the map of that track and point out what i mean exactly

I agree, exactly what I suggested just before, a very challenging part, not a flat and wide track!!

👍

You mean this section ;)

YEAH!!
But the cars should start drifting right @ the small jump
The start point should be exaclty after the point O on the map 👍

EDIT : Please put the layout in the OP so that people can see what we are talking about :D

I vote for this, too. I have so much fun on that section and it's a good challenge to get it right every time. Would make for a great spectator tourney. :sly:

this was the very track i got into drifting on. trying to have a super gt round, and there were only Japanese names so i could read and so i stumbled upon this, tricky but fast.
